PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Absolutely wondrous that we have an actual list of fixes (that sounds sarcastic but I swear it isn't, I'm amazed and grateful that they've provided it).

The fact we had to force them to release a list of gameplay fixes is incredible to me. How are they so closed with their communication?

It's pretty clear to me that they've only focused on the most glaring issues reported by 95% of PES players.
Unfortunately, passing accuracy, first touch error, ML clause isn't among their priorities and I think we knew that.
Those things won't probably even be fixed at a later patch.

What does surprise me though is how could they not fix the back heel passing?. Anybody who plays PES for more than 4 matches would get extremely annoyed by that. I mean... don't they play a little bit of PES themselves?.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't? - Come on man!

Yeah we knew that, but the hope was always there. you can even add AI lofted through balls to your list above and they were all must-fixes for me... ah well

backheels are a killer...

■A variety of no additional gameplay adjustments have been made (other than the ones we've just listed) because enough of you will see things that aren't there, or come up with theories about having to delete your previous save data or hold L1 while the game loads and then play on full-manual to see the improvements we've "really" made. Seriously guys, why would we make changes and keep it to ourselves - this isn't a fucking secret society. We need to make money, we need to convince you to come back, so we're going to list all the changes.
Fixed... (Sorry.)

The gameplay changes they've listed will have knock-on effects, so I'm pretty excited to try it. If the balance of the game changes, it could be twice as good.

I can't remember Konami ever releasing such big changes at game already out. I'm pretty impressed at the moment, hope they'll keep final faith to their words and finally deliver us fouls.

p.s. I'll personally come searching with a machete and a Jason mask whoever will complain that "there are now too many fouls pls Konami do something!".. you've been warned :D.

Perhaps what they call "small adjustments" that improve the overall gaming experience are just not important enough or easy enough to describe and could cause a massive rage from fans if they only read it instead of actually feeling it.

For example, imagine some 16 year old kid reaction if he read something like "Decreased passing accuracy on PA1 to make the gap between Manual Passing, PA1 and PA2 more noticeable". That kid would go bananas, because he plays on PA1 and he feels they are harming his enjoyment. He was more than fine with the way the things were, but now.... nothing will be as good because he just read that line.

Or maybe, the changes they made to the code in order to fix the things they did mention in more detail also changed some other little things because they were tied together. Such as: More fouls + Defender AI = More awareness, better reaction speed.

They could have detailed this a lot earlier and before people started to tweet them #fixpes2018. They only put this because of that i am 100% sure.

Really? I'm on Twitter everyday, even Tweeting Konami to fix certain things such as fouls and I haven't even seen that hashtag. Oh and I follow many people from the community. I'm not kidding bro, I swear I haven't seen that hashtag myself. So why would it be so important to Konami? It's not like it was a Trending Topic or something like that.

Aha ok, I agree that they could be harder but it has a lot to do with timing as you say. But I wish you could score "bullet"- headers that you see irl fairly often.

i'd have been happy with fouls kept the same as long as they fixed the ridiculous bias against giving the human player a penalty!

I do ok with fouls, sometimes blatant ones are ignored . .I hope konami are capable of bringing a balance to it . . btw I'm only speaking for myself here . .I know a lot of people seem to get very few fouls and are unhappy about it.

I'm really exited because its a first stricte gameplay patch in Pes with specific things to repair. Most of patches in Pes in the past had not any specifics and users like me wanted see something what not existed.

True, hopefully they wont ruin something with these changes.

Headers on all controls are weak and loopy, if your player even decides to try and head it. Most of the time they try to control it or it just bounces off them. I was hoping this unresponsiveness would be addressed too but oh well. Could still be a decent patch.

Nothing in the notes about player awareness, hoping they just forgot to include it in the notes.

It's more like the first time they have listed what will be fixed. By the end of March we can expect an even better game.....there is something wrong with gaming.

Good news about the patch, I hope it saves the franchise.

Happy that they're acknowledging specific issues like Fouls,Cursor switching and so on. They were denying them for years!

Just saw this video posted on reddit

The players you're not controlling really are total idiots. No intelligence or urgency at all... Player switching problems wouldn't be half as bad if these players still actually took part in the match instead of just watching. Some actively avoid the ball and let it run through straight to an opponent...

I don't think I could tolerate this game for long in 1v1 online or vs CPU, the co-op or team play modes are the only ones where these issues are less prevalent.

Patc sounds good but we will have to wait to play it first.

Just fixing the Defensive AI issue will ave massive knock on effects especially regarding through balls since the AI always quickly exploit any holes or spaces you leave. Then you have the fouls.

I have a feeling it will will play very different to the original game now.
