PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

the general gameplay was almost perfect on pes 2018 beta but yes shooting really let it down.

everything felt so straight and predictable

Apparently this is addressed in later build

The first .gif just sums up everything that is wrong with the shooting system in PES 2018.
See, the biggest problem I have with that first GIF (and during PES gameplay as a whole) is how the ground pass moves - I find it really difficult to describe, but it just doesn't look like the kicking motion would create that pass trajectory (and velocity) to me, and I find it really jarring.

It just looks off to me, and feels off when it's me in control. After a while I stop noticing it, but after watching a football match and going back again, it just feels like barely any leg movement produces any amount of power you need (from a tap to a cannonball), and there's no power transfer between foot and ball - it just zips off to the target.

But it's probably just me, I really struggle to describe it...

Hopefully all the Brazilian teams will finally have real player names and appearances then...

And by the way, hopefully this image taken from the trailer doesn't mean anything:

I just hope that the PC cover is missing just because maybe they've decided not to release it in stores for PC but to make it available only on Steam (there's the logo) but knowing what Konami did for all these years this scares me a little.
What should scare you? They are obviously not releasing the PC version on disc, which is the way to go imo

What you mean is clear... A player just gives the ball a little knock, yet it leaves his foot like he kicked it at full power. There's no consistency between the power that the animation suggests you and the speed of the ball when it leaves the foot. Yeah, I've noticed it too at times...

I like the sliding animation when he took the shot as I pressed the button kinda late. But the speed of the ball feels unnatural. I get what you mean. Sometimes the outcome of connection between the foot and the ball wasn't convincing enough

No, it's not just you. I've felt the same over the past few years. It's not every pass, but there's quite a few that just look and feel downright awkward. It's as if your player just scoots his foot a few inches and boom, the ball is off to the races. That, or those horrid looking toe-poke passes. It creates a very disconnected feeling.

As others have said, at times, there's seemingly zero correlation between the animation of the player and the ball physics. Certainly one of my main gripes with PES.

Only one crane behind the goal in PES. Literally unplayable
:LMAO: Post of the year.

I'm just waiting for net comparisons... "It is common knowledge amongst football fans that the nets used at Vasco Da Gama's ground are much looser than the others in the league, and yet the amateurs at Konami ignore this fact yet again. They wonder why more people buy FIFA. Because every pair of nets is different. It's not rocket science."

A few more pictures from today and from a few days ago because why not have them all here just in case. I really have no idea how to make the images smaller, so bare with me.

Also, promotional images from a Winning Eleven 2018 case shows a few more teams and NTs as licensed. https://twitter.com/Fe10Alencar/status/894944063580930048

Eredivisie - Arsenal - Roma - Benfica - Milan - The Netherlands - Spain - England - Italy - Portugal - Japan

I think we all need to feel proud for standing up for PES through the rough times. Community never stopped modding it to make it (at least) playable. And this year we're finally getting our reward. I really think this is it.

Arsenal?oh really, I thought they are not licensed this year
since I didn't see anything about Arsenal during the trailer and other promotions
I was expecting another big club from EPL to be licensed this year

You're getting too emotional now ;)

Spoke to Adam again this evening on the phone and asked him if the legends get a bit of the old Player ID treatment. I probably missed something in the past regrds this and honestly didn't know. I only ever got Davids in 2017's myClub and while I thought there was a resemblence to the real player in his pomp regards movement and alike I thought I just put it down to my mind playing tricks on me.

Anyway, he said that they do.

PES2018 will be the best football related anything ever if I land Socrates. Will be the worst if I don't.

Apparently the Brazil event had Flamengo and Corinthians players turning up, completely of their own choice, full of enthusiasm and unannounced, just to play a bit of PES.

The good shit, gentlemen.
