PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

I can live without the Bundesliga. Its unfortunate. But I'd rather let Konami do the squad work for me without any issues or constantly having to reimport created content. I'm just using a file for teams in the game and it looks brilliant. Hi-res kits and great gameplay to match, plus I can download live updates and not worry. Only really missing Bayern, but oh well. Konami not going to support updates for created teams. Understandable. But it will have a knock on effect for people that have imported new teams. Databases will differ.
yeah, that's the route i'm taking, what OF are you using?

Great post buddy and you're right you do feel more control when playing.

PES 2016 was a step forwards, but I dunno, it just didnt feel quite there for me. But 2017 feels bang on the money. Been playing it quite a bit for the last few days and its novelty STILL hasnt wore off, when most games tend to right about now for me.

I'm still stunned by new stuff all the time, a different animation or phase of play. The ball itself is still amazing me, how it looks and moves. The individual blades of grass being flattened as the ball rolls across it.

Players themselves look real, lifelike even, FIFA looks like a cartoon in comparison, not just how they look in appearance but how certain players move, pass or shoot. Their emotions aswell even.

For instance playing as Liverpool everyplayer feels and plays like they do in reality. Matip and Lovren step forward and look to pinch the ball before strikers can get a touch. Clyne bombs forward always offering you that width and outlet, Firmino floats around and does clever little flicks and passes round the corner, Moreno is reckless and nearly always out of position, Coutinho cuts in and shoots just like he does in real life when you hold R2. The animation is just spot-the-fuck-on. I was watching Liverpool-Hull earlier thinking "I can do that on PES" and when Coutinho scored that beaut in the 2nd half, I was itching to play Pro Evo.

You can press just like they do. Play the football just like they do. This goes for most teams aswell. That individuality and personality of teams and individual players can be replicated in the game. Its scary good at times.

Its amazing. FIFA dont come anywhere near close to this in terms of replicating how teams play in game. Different gravy entirely.

No hype, fanboy or flavor of the month about it. It doesnt matter what I think or say about the game really. Its just an opinion, a worthless opinion. The game speaks for itself just fine if you understand football and how the game plays. Its actually quite special. No hype whatsoever. It is what it is.

Again a great post . ..you'll have me getting up in the middle of the night to play Pes the way you're talking there. . . I agree with you on how it plays. . .to me it feels like anything is possible in the game . . it's so unpredictable .. .the novelty doesn't wear off . . .it feels fresh everyday. Hope to hear more of your opinions.

You feel connected to the ball. Especially when you catch a bouncing ball on the volley. This is all very classic Pro Evo and as satisfying as ever. Those moments when the ball is headed clear to the edge of the box and you have a player running onto it. "You just gotta shoot" classic classic classic Pro Evo that.

I also rate the way teams defend as a team. Be that a high press or low block. Teams defend as a unit. Close space. They make it difficult to pass forwards or dribble a way through sometimes. So you find yourself keeping the ball, going backwards if need be, playing intricate little passes around the box and quick 1-2's trying to open it up and move the defence around and out of position, trying to draw them out. It resembles football very well during these periods.

The high press is very effective when done well, if not, you can be left exposed. This all applies to the CPU also. Sometimes they'll press you high up, pressuring you into playing difficult passes and at a higher tempo than you'd maybe like. Sometimes they'll defend deep, especially lower rated teams and they'll concede possesion, looking to hit you on the break. But every system has its weakness. So if you have the right players at your disposal and the right skill to play the game, you'll pick the lock and unlock them.

When they enter the field players on pC are the cinematic type in the champions League with awning in midfield and jingle? Awards with their cups raised by the players

Really struggling to keep going with this game now. Can't score for shit, can't even create chances. Crosses are pointless - every single one headed away. Quick passing makes no difference because AI tackles me from behind whenever I get near goal. Long shots are a waste of time because the keepers have every angle covered.

Lost my enthusiasm for this.
You're where I was a week ago.
Now I'll sell the wife before this game.
Best game I've played
You'll get mate, trust me,make it easier, lower the diff, proffesional is still tough as nails

Considering they have partnership with Lfc why do a good few of the players look nothing like who they are meant to be? Sturridge, wjneldum, matip for example look terrible.

what stat matters for slide tackles ?
defensive prowess ?

I seem to have found a bug that crashes my game every time.
Go into versus mode. Pick teams then on the next screen with stadium kits game plan etc, press O to go back and it crashes the console.

Might just be me but if not I've reported it and hopefully no one else gets the same annoyance

Ach, this game. Where even the most simple of goals feels so satisfying...

Edit: posted the wrong goal first time.

Yep its like that and thats the way it is.

The other day I was drawing 1-1 and the CPU started to play for the draw. They sat back in low block with about 20 to go. I kept plugging away trying to find the winner. Time was running out and I just couldn't break through, but then a chance, ball fell to Henderson on the edge of the box, the box was crowded, so I just hit it early. 92nd min. 2-1. Both me and the person watching me play were like "Fucking hell....football ay?"

@craney91 is that video from 99 CL final against Bayern? If yes, I was 19 that time and I was broken at the end. I even cried a little. What a heartbreaking moment for a Bayern fan.
:(

I believe so. The emotions of Ferguson were like mine when I won that game at the death in Pro Evo. ROFL

Ok, so I found something that is either

a.)i am a moron
or
b.)serious flaw in local multiplayer game

I added secondary and third controllers to my ps4, they are logged in a guest users, but when I go into pes, it gives an error message, you dont have the right account to use user created data, and all of the teams are using the default names and kits, and the option file i downloaded does not work. So if your playing with a mate you cant use the option file, at least in exhbition and cup mode... anyone else expereince this.

Someone said you cna use ps4 share to play ML with a mate online, anyone want to try?

Has anyone tried manual v pa1 against the AI ..I switched to PA1 halfway through a game and the AI seemed to step up a level on top class ..I'm not sure which I prefer I kind of like PA 1 and use override where I see fit

Does anyone have a fix for the local multiplayer edited data issue? I had 7 mates over yesterday and we had to settle for FIFA 16 because PES 2017 doesn't allow for edited data on guest accounts.

i dont like how they've programmed cpu attack/defence mentality. i just played an exhibition using birmingham against atletico madrid. when they dont have possession, defense mentality was always set at -1. when they have possession its balanced. it was 0-0 going in at HT. not once during first half did they upped their attack mentality. they only did so when it was still 0-0 at 70 minutes. it should have been on this setting from kick off since its just an ex and im a way inferior team
