PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Look at Sven Bender's positioning between 7:55 and 8:01...
That's great. He sees the keeper is out of position, he rolls the ball out but to the opposition. So Bender runs to the goal line to block the shot.

In this particular case it's overkill and probably created more problems than it solved, but it's a great example of PES's players covering for each other - and in this case, recognising who was going to receive the pass before it actually got to them.

The last video doesn't have any dribbling until the player is past the defender, at which point the defender is literally behind the striker and can't get through his body. That's different. By that point, Suarez could have been Teddy Sheringham.

It's not hard to run faster than a slow player with the ball. It's just about timing your touches to match your stride. It's only hard if there's someone in front of you so you don't want to commit to a full speed sprint.

Certainly Martial or Aubameyang running with the ball should be faster than Blind or Mertesacker chasing behind them - not slower. If it was Luke Shaw or Varane managing to catch up with a similarly fast player then it'd be more understandable. But right now the only way to use wingers to beat a high defensive line is if you pass well in front of them so they just sprint. Robben won't run clear with the ball in those situations, he'll have to chase after it like he's Darius Vassell.

To get the best out of fast wingers, surely it's a case of kick the ball forward and chase after it. A couple of examples here from 0:35 Robben, Bale, etc...

I'm sure those players are slower when dribbling with the ball at their feet.

I have the full game. Ask me anything you want. So far I see changes right away like more fouls, better positioning, as well as less skating (no so sure). More observation soon.

Can you explain us how the process of importing / exporting teams works? In order to add kits for licensed teams.

Thanks :)

Can you see any evidence of the AI using attack and defence levels other than 2 when not in possession and 4 when it has the ball?

Can someone with the game please let me know which OFFICiAL balls are included in exhibition mode? Not interested in all the PES ones...thanks

Bet its only two or three as usual...

Guys so far this game is amazing. Improved over the demo for sure. There is no skating, or at least it's gonna be hard to notice any. The players move so well when I'm controlling them. Tried spamming and I notice no skating, looks so smooth. Can't wait to play more. Also shooting seems to be toned down, passing too (in terms of speed). But all good so far. If you enjoyed the demo so much, you gonna love and I mean love this game.

How is the atmosphere when you play in the Sports Park? :D

Haha. Yes for sure, will play next match.

I would check that later on. Just to make sure you want to know if it's possible to add kits to the licensed teams?

I have only see them use 2 and 4. But nothing to worry about, at least to my experience. The AI is Liverpool and we both are pretty even in shooting and passing.

I've been listening to forum member B-Man's podcast about PES2017 (Footy United). Ver long podcast (more than 2 hour long, i'm halfway through it, it's a commuters dream).

Very good and entertaining podcast, very balanced view on the demo.

I'm becoming a big fan...those guys are doing great work for the PES community and it seems that the development team are listening to them.

Hats off.

Thanks for this, just started listening myself. I know KG fairly well from OS.

Shameless plug, but I'm working on getting my podcasts moving as well, so this is good content to follow.

Possible I think it is, at least Adam Bhatti said it would :P

I just wanted to know the process, because when you click on "strip" of a licensed team there's no option to ADD. We think it's because we have to import data / team and overwrite over a licensed one and it will fill the empty kit slots with the new kits. For example Arsenal has 3 kits, if you overwrite Arsenal with team data it will add a 4th kit.

I think this is the process. But if you could confirm and see that, we would appreciate :)

Can u pls check which licensed balls are available in the exhibition mode pls?

Not every player is like this which is why Pes speed and dribble speed stats WERE so important.

That test also doesn't take into consideration of the match situation how many times is the player looking up or taking cognisance of his surroundings.

Generally footballers slow down to think it's only the very best that don't lose pace and still keep the ball glued to their feet.

I need to say though that I feel there is a level of catch up it makes it easier to defend Messi in the demo and takes away from his ability I feel. This is when you control him and when he is AI controlled.

I need to test this out myself.

Re the kits.

Went to Arsenal in edit. They have kits 1-3, and just one keepers kit. There is no option "to add".

I go to East Dorsetshire (Bournemouth) below, and have kits 1 and 2, and one keepers only. But there is the option "to add".

Clicking this allows me to create 3rd or 4th kit- 2 choices only.
