PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

been doing some testing on kit pngs

this is the 1024x1024 png image close up (Blackburn Rovers 2016/17 home)

ySZ8oP.jpg

and this is the 2048x2048 png image, as you can see this image is much more detailed the closer you zoom in

OYjhZb.jpg

the 1024x1024 png will be fine in game with a wide camera so it might be a good idea to do all second division/created teams and national teams with this size png , save the bigger 2048x2048 png for all the top leagues in the game

hopefully then we will be able then to give every team in the game 3 kits each

Importing stuff video...edit mode.

What the hell are those .bin files and where do they come from?

they're like my images above and they come from your pc or usb

see at 1.33, you can only upload a limited number of images, konami are still CUNTS

Which of your images?

Yes, but I think they are generated through exported teams. Right? Or how do we generate them?

I think each team as an ID and the. bin files names are that ID. I downloaded the OF of the video you posted and it makes some sense. The .bin files contain all the kits info of a team.

i10.bin - Juventus
i18.bin - Sassuolo
b1.bin - Should be Arsenal

So if we rename a .bin file with the team ID I think it automatically inserts new kits on licensed teams.

Or maybe i'm wrong, I dunno :p

looks like its 1177 kits if you use 1024x1024 so thats 588 kits with 2048x2048 ( works out at about 195 teams can get the better hd kits)

How did you download it? I found the website but I couldn't get it to download due o all of the pop up ads etc. Very frustrating as I am trying to learn about option files so I can hopefully prepare one before release date.

Edit, nevermind I found it in the comments of the YouTube video. Should have looked there first lol

I thought as much. So can we take pentionally the bin files pc creators will make they usually work out who is who?

I've downloaded the option file from the video but I too am confused by the bin files.
I was hoping to get a head start and fill in the missing bin files for the championship teams etc but can't figure them out.
The edit-crypter tool doesn't work & if you open up the bin files from the option file with hexeditor, it's gibberish which usually means that the file is encrypted.

If anybody has any idea how to open/edit them that would be great. Presumably each bin contains the information for which kits go with that team, shirt colours etc but I am unsure until I can access one of the existing ones.

The bin files are generated once you export a team. You configure Juventus kits and crest and then you export it to the USB and it generates a bin file with the Juventus ID name. I think it works like that.

You can't edit those bin files on pc...at least for now. You can only edit them in game.

Read my post a few above :)

Ah that makes more sense as it is the game itself that writes them not an external piece of software, thankyou.

It sounds like you still have to go and manually load the kits etc the first time in order to create the bin for each team? Unless you have a ready made option file that is.
If that is the case, I wonder how you can add extra kits to licensed teams?

So, since the math had been done before and determined that around 860 kits were needed to license all the teams in game, it's fair to say that there will be a clear majority of 2048x2048 kits, at least. So all big teams can have proper-sized kits.

no its the other way round (525 1024x1024 small kits plus 325 big 2048x2048 kits) to give every team in the game 3 kits

thats not including manager or stadium images for the smaller 1024x1024 pngs

ive worked that out to be 240 teams that can be edited with 3 kits each and 65 of those will have 2048 x2048 kits, manager and stadium pngs

premier league 18 teams
la liga 18 teams
bundesliga 15 teams
serie A 2 teams
champions league 10 teams

total 65 teams with all 2048x2048 kits plus manager and stadium pngs

the remaining 175 teams can then be edited with the remaining 1024x1024 pngs giving a grand total of 1175 pngs (of a max 1177) required

thats the way im doing my optionfile

If you wanna DIY yes you have to do it manually for the 1st time. But there will be OF that save you that work.

I think it's how I wrote a few posts above. Every team as an ID. You just need to change the bin name ID to the team ID you want to replace.

If you import data for Arsenal for example, it will only add a 4th kit, once Arsenal already has 3 kits, and those cannot be edited.

I'm not sure it's like this...but that's what makes more sense with the information we have so far.

I dunno if you understood.

I've been playing ML all day, it's very impressive, polished and the editing tools are more than adequate to do anything you want without losing authenticity. There are some great touches with new stats and features, It gave me the feeling that Konami have listened to us this time in some parts, The depth is just perfect!

Now the issue that I seem to be having is with the AI balance, I alternate between top player and superstar, Full manual and PA3-2-1. Changing the half length and game speed trying to find the right balance. I'm a seasoned PES player and so far the AI needs to be more aggressive while attacking, They're really limp and On superstar there's a hint of scripting but it's expected although it emables the CPU to score from one chance all game whenever it feels like it.

On that last video by goalgerd, Most of the shots are taken from inside the area, It's like the game gives you channels to use otherwise it won't work. Also the goalkeepers tend to stay on their line even though the attacker is in the six yard box. Would be nice if the defences would step up and prevent the attackers from entering the penalty area and even playing throughballs inside it!

I've had games vs superstar difficulty where I would pass the ball all day around the back and they wouldn't be interested in the ball Looks really silly. But I have a feeling that tweaking the AI tactics would make this game very challenging offline, It will need a lot of experimentation that I'm sure MATT and the other geniuses would like to look into.

We need a comprehensive tactical tutorial as the system can change this game better than having gameplay sliders IMHO!

Played a few demo games lastnight around playing Lego Dimensions (quite a cool game) with my daughter.

The individuality is simply amazing. The fact that playing with Tevez and Sanchez feels so different when playing. Same goes for Greizmann and Martial. They are such similar built, style of player. But Greizmann just feels a touch more evolved, a touch more classy.

Can only imagine how special the full game will be.

It's the PC master race talk my eyes also tend to glaze over when they start.

I had to go very the demo a go this morning again had 3 splendid games of Riverplate vs Boca

I hope I have time to play when the full game is out next week.
