PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Had a great game as Madrid v Barca. Was defending deep for most of it. 2nd half I come into it and take a 1-0 lead. Then I'm under cosh for rest of match and in 93rd minute my clearance goes to Torres who steams down right, whips in cross and Greizman slides in at the back post to make it 2-0.

Brilliant, I can still remember goals or moments I had in Pes 5 and I have a feeling this game will do the same!

I hate 2016, and I love the 2017 demo. It plays a lot different. Sure, there are some "legacy" issues, but overall it plays like a much different game to me. If you turned it off right away, how can you be so quick to judge?

forget that mifi and wireless connectivity. I would say you need a hard line 4mbps with under 200ms ping to Europe should do the job.

Some guys have LTE which they say works well too. It ain't cheap here though. Service providers ripping us off.
 
Think I've had about 50 games of demo and am loving it.

Just a few small gripes and I get that no game is perfect. They are...

Day matches - look awful. Tried playing as Barca v Madrid in the day - hard to tell which team was which. Madrid were in black looked like barca kit.
Injuries - not had one in 50 games
Penalties - had one - would you believe the very first game - none since.
Stutter animation when players collide - my player stutters the AIs don't and nicks the ball.
Fouls - had a few but need more - been playing 10 min matches. I don't want game flooded with them but in a top of la liga game you'd expect more than 1 each at end of first half.

Other than that. Loving this and can't wait for full and a decent option file.
 
I suppose the only "big" issues I have with the game thus far are the following:

  • CPU are far too easy to dispossess with standing tackles. This is my biggest concern with the offline portion of this game
  • Player slide tackles magnetize too much to the opposition player. Sometimes I just want to slide to cut off a pass, but often times my player will magically change direction mid-flight, and before I know it I've been booked.
  • The "stun" animation when you get tackled, or dispossessed occurs too frequently, and sometimes the context makes little sense.
  • Day matches (except for rain) look God awful. The turfs look dreadful. I've only played one day/sunny match since I've downloaded the demo. Why don't they provide an overcast setting like FIFA? Fortunately I'll be getting it on PC so I can alter the turf.
  • Why, on semi-assisted cursor switch, does it insist on switching my player when I lose possession and there's a 50-50? In that second or two that's lost because the game decided to switch my cursor to someone 20 yards away, I've lost the opportunity to recover, or stick a foot in.

Maybe it was too quick. I'll give another shot for sure. GKs reacting slowly to shots letting them in so easily was another thing from last year I've noticed. No sense of urgency to save a simple shot sometimes. Overall I'd would love to see some balance between attacking and defending which has been lacking lately.

I am loving Advanced Shooting! It’s exactly how shooting used to be on PES 2011 and thats my best.

Adv. Shooting on PES 14,15,16 were off. The physics, direction were all wrong. But in PES2017 the mechanics have gone back to the 2011 style. What a joy. takes skill and you can really score life like goals. love it.

so can you explain how the function works?

Attacking to the right -> push shoot, hold the directional stick in a north west direction and the ball will be aimed to the bottom left of the goal.
So: nw= bottom left, sw= Top left, ne= bottom right, se= top right

Are you sure you're not playing pes 2016 demo?
 
Hi all.

Does anyone know what the list of game modes there is in the game and whether the PC Version will be identical to the next gen version(ps4/xbone?)
 
any tips for manual shooting, I'm trying to wean myself off assistance for the full game so I've tried playing with the L2 button taped down Im really enjoying passing it around the pitch but I cant get any shots on target so far

Agree. I used to buy a loaded memory card for Xbox.
Takes these guys hours to do and £5 is hardly a lot of money to make the game look great.
 
intrigued by the option file situation, as much as i think the guys that create them do a lot of hard work i'm not sure if i want to pay a tenner for one, i will have to see how difficult the free version will be to put together. saying that being able to pick and choose might be better than downloading stuff that I don't really want or need

Will be interested to see what PESWorld come up with and how it works, they have some stiff opposition with Klashmans tactics on the PESUniverse file though I have to say!

Also we need to know what will happen with created players and live updates and the like. the created bundesliga could become a mess if the live update wipes out certain changes... being particularly picky here but would have rathered the MLS to the Liga MX too :p

Absolutely same here.
I even fired up 2016 again but I only slightly can enjoy it on full manual, whereas on the PES 2017 demo, manual passing and basic shooting is fine with me.

So much this!
I wanna cut off a pass as well, like in the other game, but am afraid to tackle the player instead.

That´s something that causes unwanted interruptions of the game flow.

I thought of the same.
I wish there was an option to toggle the arrow assistance.

I guess the only tip is, practicing as much as possible and not getting encouraged.

I thought of switching to PA1 again, as my passes were aimed badly, but I forced myself to go on and it works better every time.
