PES 2017 Player Style, Preferred Position,Player Ability and Tactical Advice for CPU

@sanji Yes, there where slightly moving more forward in that sense, but not noticeable from other goalkeepers with normal stats+offensive goalkeeper.

I am playing with a modified exe + dt18, so maybe there's something there interfering.

@sanji @kilay I have edited Balotelli as a CF main with SS(A)+Post Player with 79 attack, 42 def prowess, 42 ball winning and NO COM playing styles. CF outside the area in Kick Off and In Possesion, CF inside the area Out of Possesion. Try it and let me know your comments.

I'll try when at home. Seems good. No playstyle?

For com you can add long ranger imo. I'd improve a little bit def pro and bw, new balo (since 5 games or so) works a lot more. I'd say just 44 for each, with form green he'll be at 49 which is good, and 54 rarely at blue form, which still fits balo imo.

78 attack is enough imo. I improved his ball control, passing, shot power and finishing iirc.

Thanks for the tips :)

@sanji Yes, playstyle is Post Player (In game text in English is "target man", but the real playstyle is Post Player like in old WE/PES), sorry for the confusion.

Yes, I think anything in the 42-44 range for def. prowess and ball winning, and 77-79 for off. prowess is adequate for Ballotelli.

I agree with your long ranger COM style for Balotelli.

What does post player mean and how is it different to target man? Agree with those ranges. I'm going to do some testing (i'll try to do most of L1 updated stats/role/positions for @kilay save folder)

You're welcome to help if you're interested :)

It's the same, it's a player that is adept at playing with his back to goal and "running the offense from the post" while holding the ball, ala Paolo Guerrero. The post, refers to the 18 yard box area.

For reference:

Fox in the box (Box Striker) = inside the 18 yard box (and 6 yard box depending on the type of player/ Number 9's and 9 and a half's).

Target Man (Post Player)= On the 18 yard box+a little outside the 18 yard box (back to goal specialist or someone who can hold the ball really well while teammates make forward runs)

Creative Playmaker= Links play outside the 18 yard box up to the edge of the centre pitch circle (depending on the type of player)

@kilay have you had the chance to explore extint positions/playstyles?

I am thinking about:

1. The Guardiola role, not quite a DM, but neither a CM...

I have tried DM with attack-defensive prowess ratio at 1: 0.85 with classic n 10 but doesn't do the trick.

2. The Libero or Franz Beckenbauer role.

I have almost never seen the extra atracker card in action. Seems sort of a placebo playstyle to me and honestly having a CB with an attack-defensive prowess ratio of 1:1 in the 80's or 90's for a unbalances the game. It should be something similar to box to box but for CB.

3. Old style inside forwards. Not quite SS's but neither WG's.

1 and 2 Build Up
3 AM, SM Hole Player

Thanks @kilay it worked for 1 and 3.

For libero it doesn't, but I managed to find a trick: switch team attack/def levels to red (supper attacking) and the CB with extra attacker/build up goes upfield reaching the 18 yard box. * This is the only way to have one of your CB up the pitch.

It works as following (tested with back four with two central CBs):

1. CB with Extra attacker/build up goes to attack if the other CB has no playstyle

2. The CB with att prow - def prow ratio closer to 1:1 goes to attack when both CBs have build up, both have extra attacker, or both combined have extra attacker & build up.

3. CB goes to attack if it has no playstyle and other CB has anchor man.

4. If neither CB has a playstyle, the one with higher ball control is the one chosen to go to attack (att prow-def prow ratio is ignored).

Give it a try and let me know your test results.

about 2 you could try (with fluid scheme) CB at Kick off&Non possession, DM in possession , and put him box to box or build up (following the numbers of offensive raids who shoud do) or also try to add the 'incisive run' COM ability

Or even more with as CM in possession phase with 'the 2 previous style , last also CM 'Hole player' style could work (really offensive)

@kilay A few findings (some of them are not really new, but rather a clarification) done through testing. For future reference for editors and users:

Playing styles

Fox in the box=
Box Striker (Doesn't move around other areas than the box. This is affected by possession game build-up and low pass support range values, the lower the value, the more outside of the box the CF will play).

Prolific Winger= Wing Striker (Will run aggressively towards the space inside the area when on the wing at the 18 yard box and without the ball). (Different form incisive run).

Target Man= Post Player (Good at holding up the ball in advanced positions and heading).

Goal Poacher= A "Line breaker" Adept at playing with his back to goal and breaking the offside trap/defensive line.

Creative Playmaker= Drops into the "hole" to participate in the assembly of the attack. (Fantasista/ Nine and a half).

Dummy Runner= Decoy (Opponents will follow this player when dribbling or in possession, freeing up space for his teammates to exploit).

Hole Player= When attacking and given the space, he will always have the aim to run into the area and thus make aggressive forward or diagonal runs. The combination of forward runs and diagonal runs gives the player a kind of "free role" (used to be "jumping out" and later "free roaming" in older PES).

The Destroyer= Hard presser, tackler (dives into tackles), fouler.

Special abilities (COM)

Trickster= Feint Star (A flashy player that utilizes a lot of feints)

Mazing Run= What used to be "dribble keep" in old WE's/PES's (A player who excels at holding on to the ball and can maintain his dribble without being dispossessed easily by opponents)

Speeding Bullet= What used to be "dribbling" in old WE's/PES's (A player who tends to dribble a lot and performs a lot of vertical breakthroughs easily while dribbling. If a player who has this ability is playings as a WF, SMF or SB, it will also make him stay more towards the side)

Incisive Run = Inside Cutter (A player who will make a diagonal run towards the center of the pitch (not necessarily the area) only while in possession and dribbling from the wing) (Different form prolific winger)

Special abilities

Fighting Spirit = This has nothing to do with aggression, marking or tackling. It is a purely mental attribute (What used to be mentality in the old stats). Players with this ability aren't affected in their condition/emotion regardless of the match situation.

Low Trajectory Pass = This is the through ball special ability.

I need to test unconventional position, but anyaway to give BTB to a FB you need to add him CC secondary role and really few player cover this position in real football (Lahm, J. Zanetti,Milner). So i make my changes just to set better the player i don't want put a wrong position that not match with real footbal. About Hole Player on the side i'm testing muller as Raumdeter with this setting CL Hole Player and works well, sterling too, but i think that something different is needed (remove trackback from him)
KO OP IP
WF WF CL
And about 2016 the games are really different
I know this is incredibly late and all but I want to ask...what the heck is CL?!
