PES 2017 - PC Version Discussion Thread

I'm using it and it feels fine. I've still not scored a single breakaway goal, but I guess I don't have incredibly fast players.

There are plenty of other annoyances that seem ridiculous to me, with regards to the CPU 'advantage'. I still can't get over how impossible it is to be calm on the ball against a press. Even if I position myself perfectly with someone like Ibrahimovic, any tiny midfielder is going to not only nick the ball, the CPU will ensure Zlatan tumbles over, rolls around and waves his hands while the counterattack is happening. Then you watch the replay and the CPU leg actually goes through Zlatan's body which would admittedly cause him some stumbling, but of course no foul. Sigh.

Well I've played almost every soccer game released for PS1, PS2, PC, N64, Dreamcast.
I have to say that PES 2017 is most solid soccer game today. Even on PC the gameplay is amazing (equal to PS4)

Cons:
-Good ball physics (not perfect)
-Good collisions (not perfect)
-Smoother than PES 2016
-Better passing (more error)
-Better shooting (more error)
-Various control
-Great feel on the gamepad (the player movement)
-Improved AI
-Better goalkeepers (very good indeed!)
-Player jostling/shouldering (it was removed since PES 2014)
-A lot of "balancing" animations
-Better dribbling/trick system
-Great lofted passes without locking/magnets on players

Prons
-Some sliding/icehokey on turning animations
-Ball physics good, but not that realistic
-Slow motion feeling when in the box
-Net physics below average
-Kits are not animated (like PES 2014)
-Graphics and photorealism should be like PES 2014

At first look this game looks similar to PES 2016, but all these improvements mentioned above, give the extra touch, making it the best soccer game.

Comparing to PS4 version the differences are
-No stadium editor (but modders added a lot of stadiums)
-Graphics (but modders already made a great job with turfs, crowd, ball glossiness)
-Motion blur in replay

Finally for those grining for the licenses, modders made full authentic and updated kits for every team, so did for the rosters aswell. Pes 2017 is fully licensed now, even to FIFA.

Overall rating for me: 8.5/10

Finally found my settings. Had three great games in a row with -1 speed, Top Player, 20min game, default assist settings and tactical mish mash between my own, Klashman's and Krebstar's/other guys' from Operation Sports forums (p.s. who didnt know yet, these guys are making wonderful job with tactics).

Little secrets: limited fps to 60 (no, definitely not placebo as someone was telling here) and in the game settings set grass to Long (makes ball speed less frantic and more realistic).

In love with this game!

I have just noticed that a freekick from CPU was shot like in this video (bale freekick at the start)
Is there a way to shoot freekicks like this - have a look at the ball spin!

I'm sure that Konami are idiots. Everything that happens in the last 10 years prove that smart people have left the company and the remaining handful of idiots who have no idea what to do. I do not know why the anvils refuse to accept that nowadays in all sport games, online modes and overall wide selection of modes is ... everything! No matter how good gameplay is ... you will do not sell your game well once you got boring and terrible online and offline modes ... PES 2017 prove for the tenth consecutive time

I am the guy who says it is a placebo, because it is. I respect what you say anyway. But with no valid proof other than subjective evidence, I stand correct. V sync yes it makes game "a tad slower" because the native game v sync is bugged (which also caps the game @60fps).

So if it limits frames per second, why is it illogic that it MIGHT make a game slower on some machines?

I'm no specialist and I'm not saying it's all true. I felt difference, and thought why not to share. Also why FIFA or other games have that option built in?

online was good tonight.. L-L-W-D-L-W-L haha.. only slight button delay but i'm using 3g mobile hotspot connection.. lol.

Met some one with messi doing slalom, quite realistic because it is stoppable when timing is correct. but i just don't like the ball speed when he took a shot. It was like thunder..

Need more zoomed out camera though.

Another stupid thing is, If I want to buy the DVD Version of the game I will buy only a dvd that installs steam to download the game with the cdkey included with the DVD! There isn't the game istallation with the DVD!

Yup this is stupid, but you'll get a pretty box lol

For the online thing, Fifa also use denuvo but we can play it in offline mode, why the hell do we have to be online if we only want to play offline modes

Putting grass normal and dry makes the gamespeed perfect, played a couple of matches vs a friend offline and it was great how it felt, speed is spot on at 0, limiting fps has no bearing since game already is very light on most systems thus running at 60 fps all the time, game is dx9 for christ sake

Is there something to let play the PC version on 60 FPS?
I think I have read something about that, but I can't find it back...

Running at higher fps often, that's why it's better to limit them to have the game run at the same frame rate, no?

For me default speed is much too fast. Even -1 could be slower sometimes.

Guys, let me pour some knowledge in your miserable brains:

If you have a 60hz monitor, if you turn on Vsync through driver and turn it off in game settings then you will get input lags ifbyur game can give more than 60 fps. Thus the game feels slow. Thats why in Fifa and Pes, I turn on Vsync, but also set Framerate limit to 60fps through Nvidia inspector (dont ever put lock to 60fps in fifa settings). Then there's not much input lag.

Secondly, the game seems to be bitchy if your Fps is not 30/60/120/240. So playing these pes games on a 75hz/144hz monitor makes the game look weird ass microstuttery asbper my experience. I am too nuch sensitive to even minor microstutters. So idk if yur miserable eyes even kniws what microstutter is.

Bottom line, play at your preffered refresh rate, but select 120hz instead of 144hz, 60hz instead if 74 80 90hz, 240hz instead of 200hz and so on.

Then cap your Fps to that refresh rate that you choosed for playing. Now turn on Vsync through driver (not from game settings).

But if yu want slow gameplay aka slow response times aka input lags, make sure your game can render 240fps and then turn Vsync on and play at 60hz without capping the fps. Or if yu want microstuttery ezxperience, go for 55hz/40hz/70hz/80hz/100hz/144hz.

End.

I use Nvidia GTX 750 ti, a cheap decent GPU.
Before installing PES, I set my GPU as suggested by a poster here (Paterson, 23rd September post). It's vsync on.
I don't experience any lag. My monitor is 60hz.

I have Vsync on, I also just downloaded Nvidia Inspector, but I do not see an option to put FPS to 60 in the Nvidia Inspector. I have a Geforce GTX 750 TI.

unfortunately it is no knuckleball at all .... have a look at the ball Rotation, it must be something difficult, but don't know how...

maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing, but the ball in Bale's freekick in the beginning of the video hardly rotates at all from what I can tell?

I would not say it is a knuckleball, it is more a dip shot with a bit rotation, a knuckleball in pes doesn't have a rotation.
And if you shoot a normal freekick all the balls gets backspin which is wrong, no normal freekicks from pranjic, ronaldinho, beckham gets backspin, if you know what i mean...

Theres "Frame Rate Limiter" under "Sync and Refresh" tab. Its the first option under that list.

I have 9xx gpu though. Maybe that has sonething to do with. But i dont think fps limiter is absent on 750ti. I am not with my Pc atm, or I could post a screenshot.

Got the game, had a few matches online, it's just as terrible as 2016. The scripting is real! Had a match that i was up 1-0 for about 80 minutes of the game. In overtime, i can see the ball bouncing over to him over and over again! I instantly knew he was going to score and indeed he did! A cross that fell in the penalty area was stumbled around until, of course, it reached one of his players and none of my defenders tried to block his shot. Deleted and will never look back, fuck this game and fuck konami.

p.s. he literally had no other chance the entire game.

I have no tabs at all. Just see for yourself:

AH! Found it :) I now putted the Frame rate limiter at about 60FPS is that okay?
Sorry dude, forgot to mention that you gotta open nvidiaProfileInspector. Exe :P. Anyway glad it worked.

Set 60fps if yur monitors refresh rate is 60hz.

bro my buddy and I were playing two vs cpu last night, you sound just like him. I kept telling him you have to use close control which is L1 on my ps4 controller setup. It does tight touches and allows you to create space...
