PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

It's not officiall but i don't see any problem to use OF on PS4 after update 2.0. I quess Konami decided release Pes 2015 on 13 of November because one of the reason is wait for new update which gives possibilty to Edit mode in Pes 2015. They know it's very important mode for fans.

No news of 2.0 features so far though.
Pretty difficult to assume

Downloaded the ps4 and Xbox one demo resolution not as good definitely on the Xbox one have both systems so not slagging off.

But metal gear demo was only 900p on xbox one also disappointed

But demo not bad and I hear this is an earlier build than gamescom so hopefully better at launch.

KONAMI is related to and Sony fanboys. Don't expect more than 900p on Xbox One. Even if it's possible. I guess it is. PES is not power source demanding game. 4 year old PC can run PES on highest settings. FIFA 15 run smooth 1080p on Xbox. So it's possible.

I'll play PES on PC or never if it will be crap. I will not support KONAMI by buying consoles versions while they don't give a f about PC.

Not many features of 2.0 known anywhere really, I'd be surprised if an option file creator somehow knew more than actual gaming websites etc.

Recently, been playing the updated PES2014 and was really appreciating the challenge. I thought that if they would just stick to this route it could only get better.

Then i played the WE2015 demo and was shocked at how arcade it felt. It just made we want to play some more 2014. I decided to wait for the PES2015 demo instead.

Just now i played my first games in the European demo and this time went for the weakest team, Atletic, because in PES2014 i also play weaker teams. Slowly i started to appreciate this game and i can see some of the improvements off the top of my head:

* Shooting indeed feels better
* Player collision model and ball deflections are more realistic and can lead to cool unpredictable situations
* Better responsiveness (but should be more situation and player depended to my liking)
* More moments where an attacker or defender has momentum and can leap in front of another player or can deflect a shot at the last moment with the tip of his foot.
* Players sometimes miss a header!
* Opposition AI is really nice, especially when in possession. They dribble better, more varied passing, take more risk but also make more mistakes (which is a good thing off course).
* Trough balls can feel tremendously satisfying on advanced mode. I had one outside foot pass that aligned perfectly with my strikers run who hit the crossbar.
* Strikers can break away from their defender when the timing of your pass is just right.

Room for improvement:

* Players feel a bit 'light' and the pitch a bit too big in comparison with player models.
* Defender awareness is still a bit of and issue sometimes.
* Passing could use some more variety depending on player energy, stamina and position. For example after a long sprint in the 70th min with low stamina i should not be able to perform the same crisp pass as earlier in the game. Let alone when the receiver is not in direct sight of the passer. I do not mind that passing is more crisp, because in real football it often is, its just the variety that is missing. Perhaps timing a pass could be made just a tiny bit more difficult depending on the player you are controlling. That would make you really feel the difference between Xavi and Pique.
* Indeed, differences in stats could be more apparent, especially when stamina is at a low point.
* Would like to see some extra animations for examply for controlling a high ball and being off guarded as a defender.

So, yeah i like it, but the pace of the game could use some more variety. Important gameplay elements like passing can be a bit too easy, just some tiny tweaks here and there would be enough.

P.S. In the mean time i can recommend 2014 (offline) to everyone. I've been playing the CL with a weaker team with manual controls and i just cant get trough the group stage :) But i enjoy trying again and again.

Does anyone else have issues with through-balls on manual or one-bar assist in the demo? I find it very hard to hit the runs of forwards - especially from a close distance.

Squeezed-in some more games on the PS3 demo. Still enjoying it.

Playing as Juve I had an epic game against Athletico. They were three-one up at half-time, I dominated the second half but only scored two. One was a lob from the half-way line with Pirlo. I do hope they have fixed the lobbing exploit for online.

Outfield play is great, the ball physics seem better, and the animations are a big improvement, though not perfect. Having great fun with the sliding tackles - it seems you have control of your legs while sliding?

Headers and shooting are too strong IMO and need toning-down. I'm noticing decent player individuality and some CPU silliness. Human opposition should be fun.

Overall a much better effort than 2014. There will always be quibbles, but I think that, gameplay-wise, they are on the right track with this demo. Feels like PES to me. I hope they don't f*ck it up.

Alrighty chaps, been a while since I have been on here, life has somewhat taken over from my PES addiction, that and Pes hasn't been all that great over the last few years (even though I've still bought it every year).

Got the demo on PS4 last night and had a few matches. I'm sure it has been mentioned already but I'm slightly lazy (and in work) and can't really go searching too deeply, but a couple of points I noticed...

I put the game onto one bar for passing assistance and the other assistance choices, also put the shooting to Advanced along with the other options. One thing that really stood out to me is that in the three matches I played, I hit the bar a ridiculous amount of times. I'm talking nearly every second or third shot, has anyone else noticed this?!

Secondly, what the hell is up with the delay in shooting??? I understand the power bar needs to increase etc... but they seem to even take one or two more steps after that before they kick the ball. On more than one occassion yesterday I thought I was in for a sure goal until it took the player forever to actually shoot. Not to mention when high balls/crosses come in and you try and head/volley it first time and the player takes it down and then tries whatever it is they try. Seriously annoying. Is there some new trick to get first time shots/quick releases that I'm unaware of? Had a couple of goal mouth scrambles as well and when you used to be able to just tap shoot and someone would tap the ball home, again now they control it first before thinking of shooting, arrrghhhhh.

Also why does R2 now completely nerf your players movements?!? You can be just using the left stick to move/dribble, then you press R2 and there's also this moment when he goes full retard and seemingly hesitates to move anymore. Surely he should slow slightly and the control should become tighter and easier to turn/change direction, not more clunky and frustratingly inept feeling. :(

Aside from that I have to say I'm actually really enjoying the other elements of the game, it feels like the old PES again. Also the new screams when you use the glorious hacking down tactic is immensely satisfying. Finished a Real - Barca game with 7 men last night just to play around with that. Took until the third proper hack job to injure Messi as well, the supple lil beggar!

ITT:

2014 being better than this
No individuality
Too fast
Better on last gen than on the current gen

Lol, this place is bizzaro zone

The issues you described are a carryover from PES '14 that Konami hasn't improved or fixed, and probably won't this year. Adavanced shooting in particular is broken and as you say, results in the ball hitting the woodwork a lot of times. Along with shooting, I also find there's an annoying delay in passing as well, which has crept into the game in recent years. R2 dribble is a mess.

After nearly 25 Games i m enjoying this game pretty much. Player ID is great. Pirlo, Kroos and James Cross Animationen are great. I hope that some issues are fixed in the Full, how Shooting ( Strenght and Accuracy) and than PES will be my Football Game this year.

Played second round vs human at my friend. PS3 version.

GAMEPLAY

- the struggles in the middle seems like a chicken fight.
- through pass effectiveness is so overpowered.
- finesse shooting is 80% goal.
- for some times it feels like the game let your friend to have the ball more than you just because he's losing, even if you manage to have the ball, you losing it without reason and it's frustrating. The script is there.
- the header issue that was mentioned here before when players collides it's so annoying.

EXTRAS

- replays are unnecessary on PS3, frame rate is atrocious.
- too much replays.
- stamina lows too fast. for every player. even if you doesn't play with one in particular too much. And you only have 3 substitution. Game after 70" is so frustrating.
- i activated assisted changes, and it doesn't work, i tried earlier, flexible and later, and nothing happened.

That for the moment.

Agreed. There's a feckin' replay for absolutely everything in PES. Drives me nuts. Please Konami, provide an option to turn off replays.

Or it should be button assigned for instant replay whenever you want to see it.
Some times you want to see a beautiful play even if the ball didn't finish near the goal or if there was a foul without pressing start every time. BASIC!

"Select" on the Dualshock 3 or the "Middle touch button" on the DS4 would be great.

Ok, I respect your opinion, but for me there is.

Sprinting and turnning with Pique and Inesta feels ridiculous different. Pique not only feels heavier, but he also doesn't have the same touchs on the ball. Sprinting with him could be dangerous not only because of his position, but also because he can put the ball further away from himself, making it easier for a someone to steal ball possesion.

Só when you are under pique control it's better Play and keep simple, and pass the ball, while with Iniesta you can try something different and be more unpredictable in your decisions. But at least Pique has more clean and accurate tackles and is decent to cut air balls.

Old days, I could tell the difference between Xavi and Iniesta instantly, nowadays we compare CBs with CMs.

Thanks for that. .. .wondered if it was better v human's. . . .apparently not.

i dont understand how can someone play with this demo for hours. 6-8 matches were more than enough for me. how can you enjoy a game so much so long where the shooting is so overpowered that even a 2 year old can score from inside the box?

Try playing on manual maybe?

Shooting is definitely overpowered on assisted though and should be looked at by Konami.

Might want to check those ole eyes mate

You can clearly see the difference between the players. Don't want to take a dig but I ran the length of the pitch with Iniesta leaving deemed after defender to score a crazy goal on fifa 15......... It turns out it was Mathieu all along :FAIL:

really odd.
Got Fifa today but felt the urge to play the pes demo instead.
played 3 games with Bayern and it all clicked for me. I just want to keep playing.
Ok there are some glaring issues like shooting being way over powered and headers being too weak but overall i like it.
So with that. Fifa going back tomorrow unopened
Just hope Konami dont muck up final release.

Will you be able to get an option file for PS4?

lol, I like that.
Kinda describes the love & hate thing going on with pes.

I didn´t have much time for the demo the last days, but yesterday I had a few minutes and could play 3 matches.

The first match didn´t really impress me at all and I was almost like "let´s go back play the FIFA Demo" but I sticked to it.
But with the second I had a much more positive feeling and with the third I was extremely thrilled.
Had to pick up wifey from the gym, so couldn´t play more, even I wanted to, because I think it´s important to play the game for a while to get into it.
The second match made me throwing my fist up and shouting a loud "YEAH!" after I scored a goal with a nice combination play.
I didn´t have that with PES for a long time.
At least not when I played against the CPU.

I think Chuny is right. I have a better access to my PC than to the PS3 (kids mostly use it for their CoD and stuff), so I was playing the FIFA demo a little more.
You should stick with one game for a start.

PES 2015 is growing on me and right in this moment I´d love to play a couple of matches. Even I don´t find everything positive, I have fun playing it.
I can also feel the player ID and yes, it´s an absolute joy to play with Robben!

A few things quite annoy me though:
Some replays have a really weird angle.
The one where the cam goes with the ball from above is very nice and looks like a real TV broadcast.
But there is another one where it looks like the cam is miles away from the goal, somewhere at the side of the pitch and you barely see the action.
This is in since PES 2014 and it annoyed me there already.
I wouldn´t care about it much if the free replay cam was back in but I doubt it will be back this year.

Then, to me the goal keepers have an incredibly strong arm as they can throw the ball over the midfield.
Are they really able to throw the ball that far?
Goalkicks look extremely nice though, don´t like them at all in the other game.

Can´t wait for the full release!

In the end I decided to keep Fifa and play that until Nov at least. If PES has improved the slight issues (that I mentioned) it has then Ill buy full version.

There is a great game in there and after recent years im not 100% sure that I trust Konami to sort out. I dont want to cut my nose off despite my face and send FIFA back, PES turn out plop then I have to re-order Fifa and its two months later and ive not played any footie games.

Hopefully there is 2 good games this year.

A few things they need to fix like the overpowered shots and the terrible Konami refs rulebook. the one that says the cpu can't commit fouls but anything you do is a booking and we will have a very good game.
Certainly more enjoyable than the other footy demo.
