PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

Those videos give a better impression than the IGN one. I think we're gearing up for a solid arcade-style game.

hmm just realized that in FIFA you are able playing unranked matches online with custom squads(transfers u made in your OF, also u can play with Creation Centre teams). would be cool if something like that were made for PES, we could play with custom teams online, playing custom tournaments, cups etc

You definitely used to be able to do that

So far I watched 3 matchs recorded by WENB: Spain vs Italy, Spain vs Germany and Spain vs Netherlands

I'm really liking what I"m seeing. Looks like loads of fun. Can't wait to get my hands on next gen PES. Just hope ML has progressed too.

The dribbling looks really good. It's one thing I much prefer over FIFA. Just moving the left stick around and not being barged off the ball or auto tackled all the time. Beautiful to watch and to use.

One thing I really dislike is why the goalkeepers catch certain balls. All good that they should save particular shots, but they need to use animations where they tip the ball over the bar or wide. No human would dive diagonally across in the air to catch the ball and then land without hurting himself and not dropping the ball. If his feet don't really leave the ground, I've seen that happen a lot but diving into the air and catching it fully outstretched, looks out of place.

Agree with all of that. Hope keepers will be improved. Also, shooting animations look decent this year but the shots themselves still worry me a little bit for some reason.

I saw one instance that I liked - one of the Brazilian players hit a shot off balance (Paulinho possibly?) and you could see the ball appeared to swerve away from the keeper because the player hit the ball as he was falling across his body. Exactly as it should be. Haven't seen enough footage or played it myself to say categorically that there are a lack of realistic trajectories, but we haven't seen too much variation just yet. Hopefully this is not the case.

Last year they said they'd mapped a fair few shooting trajectories into the game but I'm not sure whether they actually made it into the game or not.

One thing I did see on a couple of Adam's vines though is that the ball sometimes makes contact with the wrong part of the foot. I know it's slowing down and looking at a replay but I'm not sure why it can't be made to look "correct" in those situations.

I just hope the ball trajectory varies enough to keep the goals looking diverse and that they match up with the player's body positoning etc. The demo is too far away :(

I was worried about my showdown with Asim because of his headstart on PES2015 - after those videos I am not so worried anymore.

Game looks good still dont get why everyone who plays it sees the need to get to goal in the shortest possible time hoping for an opening rather than creating one.

I hope PES2015 rewards the latter type of player

Zee, don't you think that is because playing time at events like Gamescon is rather minimal ?
It's a normal reaction to want to precipitate in your game, no ?

awesome vids brings back the good ol days, just hope they dont fak it up release time. i don't trust konami till the game is released now.

What I feel. The game looks good but given Konami's history I'm not confident it will be the same game by release

God those people at the controls in those videos must be dreadful players. . . . pass forward. . . forward. . . wait for gap in middle .. . shoot. .. every time!

What is dodgy is it looks like you could pirouette the length of the pitch past everybody! Hope it improves for demo.

100% AGREE!!

On the 3rd video at 2.27 there is an amnimation that is from ISS.
The keeper dives forward to catch the ball when its right at him. In this day and age he should just catch it. No need for the (dated) dive at all.

Everything else is looking great though

Don't think I saw them pass back once even if it was the better option, nope I'll just turn towards goal and get tackled again.

People need to understand they play in a crowded place, 7-min games, a new game and most of the guys are FIFA players (go forward and pray for the best). The guys at Playstation Access or that Italian video, that play PES2014 extensively, played the game like it's supposed to be played. Build up plays, etc. and the game looked very sharp.
