PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

This is my fav video from gamescom about pes to date. Tho it is recorded on phone, the style of play and passing I am seeing is awsome. After watching asim and his friend play, I have to keep going back to this video to bring back my sanity.

Still unrealistic to me, all play goes through the middle, very few pass and move combination, I've counted at least 5 1on1 vs GK situations, which doesn't happen that often in real games. No build-up, no ones is trying to slow down the play, they don't even know how to properly dribble past their opponent. The midfield is completely deserted, huge gaps between defense and attacks. This is just horrific, they've played it like it was FIFA.

Don't get me wrong the game seems superb this year, but the guys playing it haven't got a clue and if you're thinking the way they are playing pes2015, is realistic, it is just a shocking revelation to me that you're not the "hardcore" fans you all claim to be.

Wow man. Are u serious?? Name one keeper that went a whole season of footy without conceeding a goal. Are the keepers In pes supposed to save every freaking shot? If they do u will complain bout them being super humans. If they conceed u complain about their positioning etc. I can understand IF the keeper stares at a soft shot past him, a shot that the keeper dives over and let it run tru his under arms, a shot that goes thru the keepers legs or any other lame shots with no powe rthat keeper has years to save but does not. But what is wrong with these keepers atm in pes 15?? Like I said r u gonna be satisfied with keepers saving every shot?? I dont think so...

Be careful you might be called a "self righteous prick" for such blasphemy! These games are probably the "fun" they've been missing.

no last year it saved everything or had rebound goals. 2 option for goals, 2! after patches it was much better optimized but still the lack of GK! animations made it its like still 5 type of goals there top. GKs looks horribly the same as in PES2014 for me from the vids.

unpolished, lack of animation. if u played some FIFA, you'll understand how much animation supposed to have a CG GK nowdays...and damn even FIFA community complains about the GKs, still they are shocking complex and good imo after years and years of PES...and especially after 2014.

For years I have felt that both pes and fifa had bad keepers. Specially pes. Fifa it was more to do with shooting then keepers really. But on professional or higher level they were good except for silly mistakes which pissed me off. But not as much as pes has frustrated us. However, last year with pes everything swemed broken from shooting to headers to keepers. U name it it seemed broken. Now I dnt make big fuss about keepers animation I.e. one hand save, leg save. If they did, good if not it aint the end of the world. As long as they can save easy shots with easy and pull of magical stops for harder more powerful shots. But if they cant save it and it goes in far enough as long as it is not lame ass shots. I want to be able to feel like there is actual human like keeper there that if I faced him twice and he is on fire first time, thenn he is on fire. Swcond time if he is having a blue patch day, then he is shit and nervous.
 
Unfortunately it seems too easy to gain space and shoot this year. It looks very back and forward with users creating goal chances almost every attack. Also looks like the variety in build up play is gone and lost many dimensions. I imagine these problems will be gone with manual settings though.

We don't want Pes to loose its depth and become like Fifa (repetitive passing/intellectually unstimulating)

Well if it's not down to the guys playing the game then it's down to the parameters of the game which I hope it's not.
 
I have to admit it does look a bit too easy to get from back to front but well have to see in the demo!
 
Fingers crossed the back and forth is down to people not used to how defending is working this year, the below is I think verbatim from KONAMI (but don't shoot me if not!)

Case for Defence: Users have complete control over when to close down, tackle, or hold up play. Successful defending is based entirely on the decisions the user makes.

I remember when it was changed a bit for PES (5 I think) and it went through phases that year.

1. People were defending like PES4, and so kept barging into players and giving away tons of fouls.

2. People were being too cautious and awkward in tackling, so players would run through them too easily while they were adjusting.

3. Finally people adjusted and the game went back to a more even contest.

So hopefully the defensive changes mean a cycle like this and not an encouragement of the current way most seem to be playing.

Sad to see that AI plays better than the majority of the guys at the Gamescom... Or actually it might be a good thing, AI has finally surpassed human brain. :P
 
Well.. It would be one hell of a surprise after all positives, if it turns out they've simplified and dumbed down the game even more. We all know Pes 2014 was heavily dumbed down from Pes 2013..

If Konami makes some aspect of the game better, they usually fuck up on another. That's always been the case with them.

And I really don't like all these gamescom testers praising the hell out of the game. Seriously, it's impossible to gain enough insight and experience of the game just by trying it a few times. They are doing the exact same thing as last year; getting biased at gamescom and writing promising articles without any holding back.. and then they accuse fans for insults when they rightfully get angry with the game turning out to be shit.
 
What console are most of these videos from, hoping it's ps3 or 360 as nothing looks next gen from what I've seen so far.
Other than that can't wait for the demo to try for myself.

We'll know when we get to play the demo or full game. . .I thought Pes 14 was going in the right direction but I'm in the minority on that one!
 
That's made me feel accepted . . . .I didn't like the last patch guys. . .. the one before that was great .... anybody know how to get rid of a patch?
 
Great to see AI performance in superstar. You can clearly see the team ID working there. Spain played a defensive style of great positioning, moderate pressure, with a high line. Like the real one. And offensively they played the build-up possession style. A lot of variety of movements, different from PES2014. Really enjoyed.

The gaps in the middle are there because of users not being able to perfect the defensive system yet (too much pressure). I'm more relieved after seeing that. But still feel that shooting is too overpowered and that Defence lacks physicality. Hope that they can tweak these and the game would be awesome to play.

For the first time, you can actually see movement of teams as a whole, looking for space, etc. like a real-life football team. I enjoyed the game, but with the bugs (especially player control, dribbling) I can only play from time to time. Is too frustrating, and lacks excitement. Too repetitive.

Yes it does remain to be seen whether cheap play will be rewarded or not. We won't be able to tell until we play it I suppose.

Those who are watching CL match between Athletic and Napoli take a look how compact defences are playing.

Nothing like this can be seen in PES 2015 videos, unfortunatelly. Hopefully there is tactical setting for Compactness to set it to Narrow.
