PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Well, I got raped. Stats wise by Bayern :P.

AI damn you -.- (Professional).

I beat Barcelona with Tottenham 1-0 with a goal in the last 5 minutes from a mistake by Pique lol.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I have used a " patch" for this game which is great and offers all the kits and fluff. I have my PC copy from shopto. I patched it and it worked fine for a few days. Then when i booted it up i get the rdl.dll dynamic library message, i had to keep pasting it over to the main folder. Then the installer is now saying i don't have the correct permissions to use it. WTF? I haven't a glue what's going on can someone help and old fool out?

was rld.dll accidentally deleted?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm really not sure, i don't recall deleting anything. But when i booted up agin the bloody think worked.:CONFUSE:

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

The Master League transfer windows are annoying the sh*t out of me, Konami gives us a measly few days to get players in as they don't let us buy players outside of the window so they come in on the first day it opens.

Ohhh, that sounds like great fun. It's clear to anyone with eyes that Konami need to throw this outdated Master League crap out and start from scratch with a new mode that actually reflects a real football world. Fifa is so far ahead in this area - PES isn't even in the same universe as far as this aspect goes and by the sounds of it, will take another leap forwards with Global Scouting.

Still no bloody PC demo. I know, I know - I've made my point. You don't need to say it again mods; I'm just sick and tired of the way Konami are treating PC gamers this year.

Not just yet - I want to see a few more reviews first - reader reviews, not stuff like IGN.

Besides, I don't need to buy the whole game to know that CM will be light years ahead of PES' outdated Master League.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I like CM on FIFA, but... Much more preferred old style FIFA career mode.

It was faster and was hassle free and not annoying the shit out of me after few days.

Now this new CM on FIFA is fun for like 1 season, then it gets annoying as Hell. Players whining like little bitches, board deciding to sale your best player, unrealistic transfer between clubs, etc.

Sure on PC you could fix those, but it's also not great out of the box.

People are already complaining on EA boards about CM this year too...

Master League like in PES 2011 (last Master League I believe), but updated with real player valuations, added scouting, improved training, changeable jobs + possibility to manage National Teams and clubs Worldwide, would do me.

Nothing OTT, but more realistic.

I don't want football game I control players in to be next micro-management game.

For those kind of things, I have Football Manager. Thank you!

Firstly, I find management games as fun as watching paint dry. I want to set up the team and then get out there and play! So FM won't really do anything for me.

Secondly - people moaning at EA forums? No... really? Those people would moan even if the game was literally perfect - someone would find something to whine about.

We don't know if it's like that this year though, do we? Even if it is, it's still better than Master League.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I usually don't pay much attention to mainstream opinions in regards to football games (or anything else for that matter), but this, this was just too much.

http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2013/09/24/fifa-soccer-14-leaves-pes-2014-standing-still/

I’m not certain if game franchises die with a whimper or a bang, but when I compare FIFA 14 and PES 2014, which both go on sale Tuesday, they’re titles clearly headed in opposite directions. FIFA, from EA Sports, is better than last year’s already-solid game in some very clear and more-subtle ways. Konami’s PES 2014 not only isn’t as good as last year’s game. It’s not nearly as fun, takes several steps backward in playability and appearance and, in my view, is running on fumes.

At the end of the day it's just one man's opinion, but I literally laughed out loud when I first read that.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I am.

1v1 should be reliable from day 1, don't buy the BS excuses that there are patches coming out for it etc.

we are playing 1v1 and not 11v11

I wasnt excusing konami, what I failed to imply was that bigger and more respected companies have had shittier online day-1 releases before, so it was expected from konami.

I agree with him on fun factor opinion, less fun than last year since PES is going to the simulated route, but I am positive that Konami will step back and create a more balanced game 50% simulation 50% fun (arcade) with a patch coming soon.

There is a percentage of loyal PES fans that liked PES because game was "Easy to Play, Hard to Master" they should stay within those limits with any game engine. We were happy playing PES the way it was before! New graphics and new animations are more than welcome, but gameplay should be responsive, fun!!

Hear similar crap on talksport from another brought journalist.

Sad thing is people don't understand how corrupt the Media are.

I had major issues with the on-field graphics. Animations were cartoonish, details like grass texture and shading were, to my eyes, inferior to last year’s PES version.

He did not play the game, he was instructed by someone from EA what to write.

Can you tell me more about your settings? Playing full manual? I play on Top Player and its quite rewarding, but I´m starting to dominate the possession too much in the majority of the matches. I might change to manual passing instead.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

can anybody conform who is playing pc version online if there are slowdowns in MLO ...i have the ps3 version there are massive slowdowns in the box so its unplayable...before buying pc version i wanted to confirm

Most of the time it's unplayable for me online - input lag is bearable offline but it doubles when I go online, resulting in ridiculous ping pong stuff from both sides. Almost laughable at times.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Just tried few more games online again and it's fair to say that how on earth haven't they patched the kick-off bug? and also the servers/connections are awful. 11v11 is gonna be a riot.

Come on man, there's no bug with the kick-off. Just press the pass button without any directions and that's it. I agree with the servers though :/

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

the gaame still has that just one more element about it but things are starting to grate a little

Manual shooting is definitely broken - first time shooting/heading in the area as is controlled manual shooting

Advanced through ball is also a bit messed up..at times you tap the button and it goes miles normally out of play

Conclusion for me everything manual and advanced has some kind of fault (except passing which is ok)

Corrective action - but everything on basic and up the level to superstar (i put it on 1 bar help for passing as i thought superstar would be really challenging)

It played a good game but the problem now is goalkeepers - as i am now creating more chances im testing the goalkeepers out

Ive now scored 10 goals on superstar level, won all my matches (5) and 8 out of the 10 goals the ball was hit directly at the keeper and he pushed the ball into his own net

So forgetting faces as i am not really bothered about those or kits (sign of a great game as you are so drawn in to the gameplay until you reach the goal

Priority is

Manual First Time Shooting/Heading fix
Advanced Controls Fix
GK Fix
Difficulty Fix

Everything else cosmetic the community can do

Professional + Basic/Basic + 2 pass assistance :P

It's weird to see so much pressure applied from other team though :D.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm starting to think I should just put professional is harder than superstar in my signature. So when people complain about Superstar being easy we all know it's unfinished.

I disagree with statement professional harder than superstar.More realistic - maybe. On professional i can just dominate cpu even with underdog, while superstar give me much more problems in attack, also on superstar cpu much more clinical on final shot.

All in all i find cpu momentum is toned down compared to previous games resulting in game being easier in general vs cpu.

i'm loosing games just because of GK and poor player switching....these things are ruining the beauty of the game.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

So... when are we getting 1.02? 1.01 apparently does not include any gameplay changes right? According to a video.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Can you provide a video of this because on 1 bar passing with Rennes in Master League, I won more than I've lost but vs the big teams in Marseille, PSG, Lyon, I know I sit back and counter but they dominate against me, their defence is far better than Superstar where its so, so easy to breakdown because it's a clueless mess at times because they overpressure, it's easy to just thread balls in against them.

Easier to keep possession against them also on superstar, again, more lag in their decision making on how they close you down, so they leave a lot of gaps, there also a slowdown in the box which doesn't happen on other difficulties as much, it's not finished.

Due to the responsiveness issues, i think Superstar has too much loaded into it and not all the actions are being executed.

While superstar give me much more problems in attack, also on superstar cpu much more clinical on final shot.

They are more aggressive than Professional but it's not finished because there is no balance there on Superstar. Defensively they make far more mistakes, you see a lot more lagging in regards to making decisions thus awareness problems. They may be more clinical but that is rather redundant because if you keep the ball so much against them.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Won't elaborate further yet but main issues are:

Pressure - over the top from CPU and with no real stamina penalties leans towards the arcade genre.

Stamina - still very archaic and a true throwback; encourages mindless sprinting

Catchup logic
- It's there, it is inconsistent and annoying at times.

Pace, speed & Acceleration - This is pretty much a mess. Very wild sways from realistic to fictional comic rates of speed and acceleration occurs. Makes a very inconsistent experience.

General lethargy and inconsistency - For the most part I truly like how the animations engine works and think it is one of the best things about the game. It feels all encompassing over player weight, speed etc. However, some of the control mechanics intertwined with animation are just lethargic. i.e Your controlled ball carrier can take 3/4 touches when 1/2 were sufficient; this allows the CPU to take the ball off you frequently. The general lethargy is in the inconsistency of controller commands at times. This is alarmingly evident and severe in the box mostly when defending but also in attack.

Goalkeepers - At first I was rather impressed with them then they showed they're true minerals, or lack thereof. Sometimes superb but mostly a bit rank. I've scored many a parried in effort and seen a near post screw-up and weird positioning and decision making beyond the scope of real life errors. Konami are simply inept, they couldn't sort them in a whole generation! Nonsense!

Passing - Normally play on 1 bar assistance but the erratic nature of setup was frustrating. Moved to 2 bar and it seems ok for the most part but there are still many occasion where a tap of the button will speed 30yards off. Also we the see the continuation of passes going to totally unintended players. Again, something they've never tidied up over the years.

CPU Bias - CPU gets away with murder and thuggery to the ref's indifference. USER should be getting a lot more free kicks. This can, at times, make the game quite cumbersome in tight situations & leads to unnecessary loss of possession exacerbated by the general lethargy. Also the number of tackles from unnatural positions seen from the CPU is ridiculous and on many occasions involves clipping from CPU through the USER's limbs. Disappointing to see this still going on.

Again, it all comes across as a really promising tech demo which if was still at developmental stage would have wet many a bed. The engine's potential looks unreal with regards to animations and psychics. This really does shine and is a great platform for future titles.

However ... the same issues over this generation continue. It's pretty striking that the engine is the winner here and that again PES PROD. continues to struggle with programming and coding. The engine is definitely there and there seems to be a direction to where the product is going ... however they just don't seems to have the skilled driver to bring home the win; if you follow the analogy.

Been on FIFA this gen, thought the FIFA14 demo was a good step up. After playing this for a week; it's difficult to see myself going back to FIFA. I just wish PES Production had the skill to bring it all together. This remains doubtful unfortunately.

Still waiting for that watershed moment I get with PES after abt 3 days where it all goes to shit. It hasn't come and I actually can't stop playing it at the moment. However it certainly shouldn't be full purchase price and wouldn't even be an option on console.

There is a bug, i've never did kick off or seen anyone i've played at kick off pass the ball to other team straight away, it really needs addressed. It should be the same online as offline, thats where issue lies really.

Can you provide a video of this

Recorded one half of me playing with sampdoria vs barca on proffesional, gotta wait now till i finish render it. You'll see what i mean.

Here it is:
YouTube - PES 2014 Sampdoria vs Barcelona (1st half)

Note the match stats at the end of video. It feels really relieving to play on proffesional instead of superstar, so much easier. Dunno where you coming from with proffesional harder than superstar, provide video of it :P

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I just started a Master League season with Newell's Old Boys yesterday with the Konami fake players.

The problem I have with dribbling this year is that I'm not entirely sure what foot my player is going to use to take a touch with, the same goes for passing where my left footed left back is equally adept at hitting passes with his right-foot and will choose to do so at the most inopportune moment thus making me give the ball away. Obviously this is a problem with the bad foot usage slider being to high for all players, hopefully the modders can fix this.

The Master League transfer windows are annoying the sh*t out of me, Konami gives us a measly few days to get players in as they don't let us buy players outside of the window so they come in on the first day it opens.

There also doesn't seem to be any bargains to be had as any player who is over 70 tends to cost over a million quid. I currently only have 700 grand at the start of January's window and there isn't one player I can buy that would improve my team.

I transfer-listed my best player Allejo at the start of the season to raise funds who has an overall level of 81 and is a current Brazil international. I haven't had any offers for any of my players, well done Konami:R1

I've found that in the first season, you've more chance of finding players to fit your style of play by turning to the youth team. However, if you look for free players and transfer listed, there are a fair few in the high 60/low 70 bracket that are interested. You need to remember that until you've had a complete season in the top flight and show progress, there isn't going to be many players interested in your team, so finding people with a high enough % to sign will be hard anyway.

I'm towards the end of my first season now (was distracted for a while by MLO) and my team is mostly in the mid 70's and that's with about 6 or seven signings. I spent a fair while in each window looking for the sort of players I wanted (using filters) and then ordering by overall ability and viewing the 'interest %' (skip anything below 40% for optimising my 4 transfer opportunities in that 'turn'.

It's also important to remember than each turn is not a day, it's a transfer 'cycle'. In previous games, you'd often have to wait up to 2 weeks after bidding on a player (and lose that bid until you've had a response) this may be 'more realistic' but can be frustrating if the window closes 2 weeks after bidding without a response. The new method is more streamlined and guarantees a yes or no answer for each bid (which although less realistic, is more productive and allows for the real world scenario where you would 'chase' the club you bid to). So funds permitting, you could sign perhaps 12 players in the winter window if you so desired. But again, realistically, this is a long haul game. It takes time to integrate players, so you don't want to replace too many at once (more than half my signings are only used off the bench/covering fatigue currently as their teamwork stats are too low to rely on.

I'll leave it at that since we are going to go round in circles here.

Try using Manual passing or 1 bar at least. 89% passing accuracy shows your using 3 bars at least, I can tell by the way the weight of the passing also it's not on 1 bar or 0. Which would make it easy since you can guarantee every pass. Try advanced shooting amoungs other controls if you find it easy.
