Hey... a simple question people, specially for those that deem the game playable (which is not for me at the time)

HOW ARE YOU EVEN SUPPOSED TO TURN?

It's like a simple 90° turn took like 5 moves/touches of the ball, that summed with the input lag, it's just awful, they come to a full stop when needing a simple turn, this is with MO original players, and superstars.

They need to fix this, there's no way this is intentional.
Have any of you outrun ANY player at all?

See, in that video posted above, at 0:32, player looks like limbing

Zero total combined fouls for the teams in that gameplay video. ZERO

Just ridiculous, and the debate is not against TheTud or the way he plays, it's against Konami and their vision of simulation football. Free kicks are such an important part of so many of the games we watch throughout the week. They decide the outcomes of matches, but without fouls, you can't achieve the same level of realism.

This game does alot right, but I am sick of the lack of fouls and broken referee logic. Hopefully some global editing can fix it, but it should be fixed out of the box.

When on earth are they going to put a foul slider in the game to appease all of their customers?!

Try using Manual passing or 1 bar at least. 89% passing accuracy shows your using 3 bars at least, I can tell by the way the weight of the passing also it's not on 1 bar or 0. Which would make it easy since you can guarantee every pass. Try advanced shooting amoungs other controls if you find it easy.

I used 1 bar assist mate.

Why you relate this when we speak about CPU difficulty is beyond me. CPU plays the same regarding of your control settings.

I´m also thinking in going to Professional instead of Top Player. The game looks diferent, for better. It´s more simple and easy to pull normal stuf we see all the time in real matches, and with 0 pass assistance it just might give the perfect balance for dificulty.

The problem, there is only fouls called on standing tackle (touble tap contain button) and sliding tackle. If you just hustle without those, fouls aren't ever called, you can basically play wrestling.

Because it's directly related, obviously. If you have a more difficult time moving the ball around the pitch between your players then the AI doesn't need to be fantastic to be a challenge.

I too have a hard time believing you only use 1 bar, but if you insist on doing so you're clearly just VERY good at getting just the right power behind every pass and have a magic way to avoid the passing bugs that comes with less assistance.

1) 1 bar assist is still not manual
2) Not all passes were perfect although getting to recipient and showing high pass accuracy in the stats.
3) If you struggle with passing on profesional, you'll struggle harder on superstar.

And dont get me wrong, i dont tell you to play Superstar difficulty, play profesional if that suits you.

You can see the game isn't even finished in the most stupid things... today I tried using the ol' 3-3-1-3, you know with a single DMF, an AMF, and two guys on the sides.

Turns out it isn't even there, only 3-4-3, with 2 DMF and no AMF. So I had to manually place an AMF, and center the DMF.

I enjoyed the game very much at start. But the more I play it the worse it gets! The constant wrong offsides decision, the crappy goalkeepers, the input lag, the direct shooting issue, no fouls given without slides, no rain, slow menus, online lag+ (even worse due to the input lag!). Wtf, sometimes I feel less in control than playing FIFA.

Watching Dortmund - Nürnberg on Tuesday I thought PES 2014 depicts the TV reality really well watching a game from the outside. But football is a very fast game when you play it yourself. I´ve played with an indoor team awhile with a 2. Bundesliga player who was technichally awesome. He was so fast with his feet on the ball it was incredible. This speed I want playing with even more better footballers than him. But in PES 2014 my players need so much time to react.

PES 2014 plays like we would set up 2 teams from the forum...
 
The input lag must be a bug related to driver/hardware issues because I don't really have any. It's the same as PES2013 at least... 0.2 seconds delay or something.

What is Top Player like? I am playing Superstar, hoping that when I begin winning easily I will move up the difficulty settings
 
Has anyone managed to score from distance (25+ yards out)? I've been trying since the demo, and the keeper seems to catch any shot that looks destined to go top corner or even hit the bar. I don't think I've seen a keeper palm the ball over the bar, is there even an animation for it? It might have slipped my mind. Some of the shots I've taken have had a ridiculous amount of power and swerve and the keeper will Superman jump and collect the ball like it was nothing. Granted, these sort of shots don't go in very often, but I've managed to scored more back heel flicks than I have screamers. I'm using Basic shooting.

Feel the same way, funny that FIFA feels like it has better shooting for the first time ever. I always used to moan about FIFA keepers catching everything from far out and now it's in PES:CONFUSE: I have scored some long rangers though to be fair, but they've killed the knuckle shot from last year so I'm no where near as effective from distance so it could just be my lack of skill as well :COAT:

If your using basic shooting try the manual modifier (LT/L2) when shooting outside the box, much more chance of it going in from my experience.
 
I'm losing interest in PES already..so badly want to like it, was really enjoying it a few days ago aswell

Just finding it hard to appreciate it now FFS
 
I get both every year. Have done since as long as I can remember. I'll get FIFA 14 for the PS4 when it hits later this fall, and maybe I'll pick up the PC version in the near future. I'm usually not too keen on FIFA when it comes to offline play, but I've been in the mood for a decent career mode and I don't think PES 2014 is going to scratch that itch. I played FIFA 09-13 almost exclusively online (though FIFA 09/10 were good fun offline as well). In fact, Pro Clubs was more or less the sole reason I purchased FIFA in recent years. My club was top 30 in the world (Xbox 360) at one point, but interest has since dwindled and everyone sort of dispersed. Still some of my most enjoyable and memorable football game experiences I've ever had. Anyway, it's a shame PES 2014 doesn't have a proper clubs mode, but here's hoping it's implemented next year.

It may have done last year but the goalies were like PES 2014's and would catch anything from distance like it was the weakest shot ever hit. Not the case any more and you can actually score volleys regularly now:WORSHIP:


PES will get me back once 11v11 drops though

Do you mean direction-wise ? Probably.. but the way ball launches and bounces such as in long shot is soo not satisfying to me.

Anyway, got myself a comfortable 3-1 win againts spain using germany just now.. regular difficulty :P I have always got draw at maximum with further difficulty.

Spain scores first from pedro's chip at 17.. i am struggling to make a passing play since spains defense getting tighter..

Second half, ruse make a semi long shot 1-1. Wow, spain is getting aggressive throwing many players in front. I took advantage by doing a counter attack, chipped through ball to muller with an easy goal beaten spain's GK. 2-1.

This is the time where spain's players getting confused, less determined. Bad pass, easier to disposses, more breakable defense line. Ozil was found unmarked to trap the ball inside box from spain defender's header clearance attempt near post. Right foot shoot blocked, left foot for the second chance with better placement into 3-1 win. :WASTED:

Loving the physical play in the game and to think ahead when pressing the button (as some consider it as a lag button input). Right, off to work now. Probably, will bring my xbox pad to the office. :SMUG:

*modded turf, sweetfx, updated kits and transfers feels great as usual on PC, even better experience with PES 2014. :SAL:

Why is this game so laggy? I can't even play the game.

CPU: Haswell i7 3.2 ghz
Gfx: 560ti
RAM: 16GB
OS: Win7 ultimate

Are people having troubles with Windows7?
