Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)
So I'm assuming Zee thinks that me and other people (the sensible ones, not the sprint whores or whatever they're called) want what info0 says. Well, both of you are wrong.
I said that if the attacking player gets away with the ball, he should STAY ahead of the defender, without him closing the gap in a few steps (that of course is meant for a straight run, without changing direction and other actions which should naturally slow the attacker down).
The thing I don't understand is how you can look at the videos Stuart posted earlier and think that it's realistic when MERTESACKER suddenly gets as fast as Walcott??? Where does he gain that speed boost from? And why does Theo lose so much momentum?
Care to elaborate? I really want to hear real arguments in regards to the videos, clear examples showcasing the problem. I'm all ears.
Simple thing. Look at stuart videos. Care to look at how Walcott is controlling the ball? There is slight animation jerkiness (like frame is missing for push ball further?). This is sole problem imo.
Mertesacker doesn't have to control ball, thus he reaches top speed very fast. Slash his acceleration and top speed and see if it makes difference. If it does, then it's exactly what I wrote what is the problem.
If this still happens after slashing attributes and maxing out Theo top speed/acceleration then it's what you showcase. Scripting kicks in for defenders... (though I am pretty sure it's difficulty dependent feature).
Care to do experiment? I know I did it in FIFA and slashing attributes massively in db made the game whole lot better (but, be aware, scripting in FIFA is way more clever than one would think. AI gets advantage in clever way at World Class/Legendary difficulty. It's done by simply making your team worse in every aspect than AI team. Attributes boosting for AI does not happen, but lowering values for user controlled team, does happen. So your players become slower tan Accarington guys and cannot now pass 2m in front of them

).
Wonder if same applies to PES.
To romagnoli, mate, I have no real problems with catch-up. There is however, problem with how animations are done in this new Pro Evolution. Something FIFA did to improve their game, but lose momentum/interia feeling.
In PES 2014 animations HAVE to finish before you can change direction, pass or shoot. Same applies to RUNNING with BALL. Look at stuart video with Theo. You can see this more clearly (there is small delay before Theo pushes the ball further from his feet). Mertesacker is without ball, so he reaches full speed fast. He can run without obstacle for animation engine.
DO experiment I posted above to see if catch-up is really deliberate choice or not. I believe PES Stats will be very helpful this year...
