Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

guys im playing full manual, all guides off and on top player in the demo... It's always a draw!
Impressions: Everything is great other than a couple of bugs here and there, nothing major plus the usual lag in the demo....

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

About Kits.

How many type of Kit models are there? I noticed these

Regular Loose (Bayern Munchen/Spain/Germany/Italy etc.)
Nike Tight (Manchester United/England/Juventus etc.)
Adiddas Tight (Al Shabab FC etc.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLS7e3yCGYU#t=60

Dont know if u played the beta demo, but it seems they downgraded a lot of the shirt looseness from the beta demo to this new demo :(

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

To those kids said ronaldo needed fixing, he's adriano pes 6 in this game!!!

You're misleading. They weren't talking about Ronaldo having bad stats. They were talking about a general issue which I mentioned right after playing the first match of the leaked demo, the catch up bug.

The video you posted has nothing to do with that issue.

It's about fast players being able to outrun rival players by sprinting in real life, but they are unable to do it in PES. Even when you pass the ball to them and they have the advantage, the defenders will catch them up after a few meters.

I'm not a sprint-button abuser at all. But there are times when you HAVE to do it. Even if you're a possession based player like me, there are times when you need to get past a player by sprinting with a fast player JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE, but you can't do that in PES 2014. That's not real.

I don't want them to break the game by turning it into a sprinting fest either, but there are middle terms that can be achieved. Why is it always have to be BLACK OR WHITE?.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Well i think I'm pretty much done for now. The game is starting to click more and more but the rubbish time limit is just too restricting. I'll stick to the FIFA demo for now.

Yet the FIFA demo has a shorter time limit than the PES demo? makes no sense :P

I just ran the hell out of Lescott and Johnson with Giovinco and lastnight or this morning outran the germans with Valbuena. I do not see a problem

Well, FIFA PC users are lucky to have 6-min halves. :BOP:

Anyway, this is a good base for the future. Start building up from this gameplay Konami, and sure the good old PS2 days will be back. The feeling I had yesterday when I played my first match is an excellent sign. I'm afraid though, that the rest of the package this year isn't exactly awesome.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Right. Tried the demo. Love it. No idea how to play it properly yet, but first impressions are good.

- The game feels more 'free than before, haven't noticed any feeling of being on 'rails' at all yet.

- Like the difference in lighting if you choose daytime matches in summer or winter. Winter has a subtle brownish hue to the pitch and lighting. That's nice.

- Animations and physics seem superb.

- Somehow the game just feels like proper football. The flow of the game, the passing intricacies, it's all spot on.

What I'm not sure I like about it though is:

- Really, really disappointed with the graphics (graphics, NOT animation). For Konami to brag about the engine so much, and that apparently this game would look so 'amazing', it's really quite average for a PS3 game. Textures are practically on a par with PES2013 in terms of in-game sharpness, and the graphics are still absolutely miles off other titles you get on PS3. Drake's Fortune, NBA 2K, Last of Us etc, this is miles behind. It is on old hardware, yes, but it feels like Konami were struggling with current gen and understandably made sacrifices for the sake of frame rate etc. Next-gen should be awesome.

- Crowd and commentary is appalling as usual. I'm not sure why a Man Utd match has 15,000 scousers at the game, or why they're chanting 'Man U, Man U FC, OK!'. Baffling.

- Lofted through-balls. It's been a concern of mine seeing so many goals scored from lofted through-passes, and sure enough, the COM scores one against me where the ball zooms like crazy across the pitch and the attacker is miles in the clear.

- Players feel a little too 'light' for my taste, where all this stuff about players feeling too heavy and turning like oil tankers came from, I'll never know. It feels just a fraction like players are skating.

Overall, pleased with it, but still have a little bit of disappointment about the game graphically. The animations are amazing, but pitch textures and overall fidelity is pretty poor. I don't know why Konami can't make their PES games sharp on current consoles, for such an amazing engine and 'lifelike' graphics as they touted about this game, it's baffling how it's still a lot worse in detail and sharpness than any number of PS3 games currently out there.

I knew that was coming when I wrote it.
Big MJ fan here.

I truly would have no problem in saying "oh it must be just me then", but I've read so many people complaining about the same thing as me.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Graphics
Animations
Physics

Choose two.

I already stated I realise it's on current-gen so sacrifices had to be made, and that physics and animations are amazing. Still doesn't leave me a little disappointed they couldn't make the graphics at least a little clearer, given how much they claimed the game would look astonishing.

Either way, it seems pretty awesome.
