They use .ttf files, the same you can use in Windows for example.i dunno fifas new system.
Also they have removed the R3 Player Run option, and again, I feel that is down to the new tactical options you can now acheive and implement. Also, the AI movement is on a different level, so this option is no longer required, in my opinion. It also makes the game flow with a more natural and organic feel to it.
If you hold L1 and move the right stick in any direction, a run arrow will appear and make the player infront of that arrow run in the direction its being aimed at.
At least I think thats what you mean with R3 Player Run?
We noticed that they have got rid of Player Selection on corners and throw-ins. My son was a little disappointed with that, but I can understand why they have done it, and I guess it's mostly down to the new added control and trajectory options of the delivery.

Nice write up jimmy. You have now made it impossible to skip the next demo
little disappointed with what you saying about the R2 functionality. Its my most used button on PES by a long way and i need to understand how this is going to affect the trapping and close control on the final version. If its simply down to player technique now its going to make playing with the lesser players a real challenge.
Yeah I spotted that arrow, but didn't have time to delve deeper. But like I mentioned, on top of the everything else visually, it was the AI movement that impressed me more than anything. It was way beyond what I'd hoped for already, and that is without me delving into the new tactical options.
Bottom-line, I don't really see that R3 option in any guise being required, so much is already happening around you.
Anyone one had there PS3 shut down randomly around playing the demo for 30 mins? Its happened twice now......
Yes, it's very beautiful. A little bit of skating here and there but all in all really enjoyable from what I see!
BTW, this lighting quite fooled me into thinking it was a real life match.

all of these things along with RS cursor switch are still there, you just need to hold L1 along with RS now (well, i havent it with corners yet, but it's there for throw-ins so i assume it works for corners too)
Ah, nice one. My son will be happy about that.
The trajectory lines for corners will work well though, giving more options for the delivery, with whip, bend and dip.
Also, and this is a biggie, I felt that '0' Gamespeed felt a little too hectic. We dropped it -1 and it played a much better game. We have only ever used '0' so this is new to us.
At times I felt the passing and shooting may have felt a little laboured on -1, but then I hit a cracker with Schweinstiger(sp) from 30 yards and it flew. Also L2 Maunal gave the extra zip if required.
This Fox Engine kicks fucking ass........
Oh, and also, we couldn't find an option to see our bench or subs in the formation screen, it appeared to be 'greyed' out. Anybody else find this ? Maybe one of the reasons this Demo wasn't officially released ?
Jimmy, have you played against the AI? I would like to know do the teams feel different to play against
Is it possible to hit a FK with the outside of the foot, if so how good is the ball's trajectory.
Also, another massive thing for me was how well they have seemed to adapt the player stats without the feeling of, and I hate this word, 'scripting'.
In PES 13 the stats played a bigger part then ever, it was huge, as that was there focus last year. Unfortunately, to achieve this, there was some blatant coding issues that clearly riled a lot of Pes players. And I can understand that. Loose balls or deflections falling to the 'better players'. Or even worse, defenders being dragged out of position so an assisted pass, or a pass from a great passer could achieve it's destined target.
It's a very fine line when making outcomes happen based on stats, but last year looked very blatant and wrong at times, which led to massive frustrations.
This seems to have competely gone, or at least toned down to a point where you don't feel it. A lot of this is down to the new physics of the ball and how it really does have it's own free natural movement.
I just hope that against Assisted Players, this is rear it's ugly head. It must be very difficult to attain this stat wise without looking so blatant, as it is a means to an end. But the way this game plays out, it doesn't feel like that is happening. If feels like players are now winning the ball with physical power, rather than having magic powers at 5ft tall but super-duper stats.
This is huge in my book.
I have some questions for those playing the leaked demo:
1. Is playerswitching fixed? In PES 2013 when set on semi-assist-cursor, the playerswitching would sometimes (often) select the wrong player when making a manual pass into open space and there is no possibility to change that wrong selection... so that the player who was not intended comes back to collect the ball while the one who it was intended for just ignores it and the whole structure of the attack breaks down.
How is it in the PES 2014 demo?
2. Are all the rails finally gone? Is it possible to freely move player around when off the ball without having to use super-cancel?
3. Is a realtime stamina system implemented, so that you can't run around with one and the same player without giving him time to breath? Same for CPU-controlled players.
and lastly:
4. Do you think the king is back? Does it reach the enjoyment-level of PES 3-5?
