Can You understand this demo was cancelled because is beta ver? Wait for 11 sep and than judge:FAIL:

Did you see me complaining about lack of response? :CONFUSE:
Did you see me complaining about sluggish gameplay? :CONFUSE:
Did you see me complaining about game pace / speed? :CONFUSE:

No, you didn't. Right?. Because I never complained about things we knew beforehand.

But this is different. Care to read my lastest post and then snap at me.

First of all we have to wait for proper demo in 11 sep than judge, because this demo is beta ver and was cancelled. Trust me they had reason to cancelled it.

It's a hunch.
First of all because I haven't seen/read anybody shining the spotlight on this problem in NONE of the read-ups (previews, hands-on, test codes, E3, GamesCom, etc). I can't even remember anybody at least MENTIONING it. People like Asim, Adam, the people from EuroGamer, GamerSyde, not even on Twitter, etc, etc... none of them mentioned the catch-up bug...

Some of them mentioned the lack of response between pressing a button and the actual outcome. Some of them mentioned game speed being too slow. Some of them mentioned through balls being overpowered. None of them mentioned the catch-up bug.

So I assume Konami has been working hard on fixing the pointed issues more than anything. Also because, if Konami added catch-up bug they might think it's needed for the game, or else... why would it even be there?.

yes, that is very true. but i dont think konami base their latter updates solely on playtest feedback -- im sure they also have their own problems which they know need fixed.

also i dont believe this catch up bug is technically what the name implies, it appears (to me) as more of a 'physical duel bug'; defenders arent gluing with attackers because they've been beaten, they are gluing because they are trying to defend and the shoulder-tussle animation automatically activates -- it's similar to the pes 2013 stumble animation actually (and unfortunetely that was never fixed.....)

The reasons are all the above, mentioned by me.
Catch-up bug was never mentioned by anybody before we tried this "unintentional" demo for ourselves.

Excuse me but, don't you forget that this has been a BIG BUG in some of the older PES versions like PES 2012. So it wouldn't surprise me if it's back.

good sir, our topic of discussion is perfectly reasoned and relevant. please let us confer in peace

Yes. I thought about that as well.
That's my only hope. That the geniuses at Konami noticed it in time and added this on the "To do:" list, lol. Otherwise I can't see this ending happily, at least for me.

I mean... haven't they noticed the catch-up bug in PES 2012 before releasing it? Why didn't they fix it then?. What makes us think they will address it before putting the game out there?.

I can only hope and stress my message so someone from Konami pays attention and sort this out, or at least tone it down.

Thank you for that, lol.

the good news is that the game has most likely already gone gold, so if the bug isnt fixed in the next demo, then it wont be fixed for retail! :SMUG:

in the meantime heres the sort of things i'm having fun with right now:

YouTube - PES 2014 Trick Stick Baby

the combination of RS and LS feels so natural!

OH and by the way...
What if this catch-up bug is just part of the whole "Killing The Giant" concept which Konami based PES 2014 on? I mean... it seems to me that they did it on purpose. Seems like Konami don't want fast players to actually be that faster than slow players. Otherwise it's unexplainable how a player by Ribery or Muller can get caught Galhardo or Leo (from Santos) even when they (Ribery or Muller) had the advantage...

And how is that GOOD NEWS? LOL!

I haven't played the demo yet but when u say catch up bug are you saying when your clear and there's no defender next to you a slow defender still catches up?

Not sure about galhardo but Leo is quick in real life

It seems to me, after reading Adam revelation which can be appreciated for his honesty, despite 7 years of hype to say the least, konami is turning this business of yearly stupid releases into a "wargames".
I don't mean we should care about more important things, but it seems people is someway demanded to embrace in someway the cause of east and south of the world against the rest.
More than buying a game, it seems we are asked to promote the freedom to custom the sky whom everyone is looking for, against the fake freedom made of brilliant licensed handcuffs and jails.
Is really crafty from konami to play in such a Shakespeare theatrical tragedy.

Just to level the things in another way.;)

Hang on, i thought pes was all about real football similation and not about licenses? That used to be the case anyway, and is something that pes lovers always threw back in the face of Fifa lovers.

Now all this bleating about licensed stadia.

What worries me more is the fact that if they could not implement rain due to frame rates etc, what hope is there for decent online support :(

Ketchup bug?

Not sure I noticed it really from the games I played. Guess it was down to me getting into duels all the time and not relying solely on outpacing people. The only time I did is when going for a 1-1. Didn't have a problem then too.

I'd like to play this demo to see the difference between what I played and this.

Nice, always blame EA, nobody ever blames Konami for the time when they were selling millions upon millions of copies of PES each year because it was by far the best football game and they invested next to nothing of that in licenses despite the fans screaming every year desperate for more teams/leagues to be licensed, there's only one direction the blame should be directed for Konami's current weak position on the licensing front and that has to be at themselves IMO.

Agree with this.
The fact that this guy is community manager (or whatever that is called) spraks volumes about Konami.
It is very rare (and stupid) to blame other companies for things like this.
Personally i don't mind too much about the stadiums, but i do mind about the possible omission of other European teams. I would love to see a couple of Belgian teams and i always play a lot with the other European teams.

Iam so happy the catch up bug is there. No more running after lobbed throughballs to walcott, van der mirch whatever his fucking name is too. Great news indeed

Try building up your play

like i mentioned, it's less of a catch up bug and more of a physical-battle bug (which glues the defender to the attacker)

yes, because an invisible mass sucking vortex is much more realistic than fast people out-running slow people

Very nice, I love to watch these little movements a million time more than goals and free kicks.

In real football you rarely see an attacker given the space and time to just runaway with the ball so it's a good news as far as I'm concerned. It'll force people to think about their acceleration and passing.

Yeah that little trick stick move was beautiful.

Funny how people are complaining of catch up bug when the Gamescom video's showed a lot of people breaking through on goal without being caught and if they had a defender on their back, they weren't thrown into the old stumble animation - it just became a case of shrugging off the defender.

What exactly are you agreeing with? PES was always selling millions whether back then or now. Fifa always sold more. That never stopped EA from having a hard lock on licenses. That never changed. Konami's strategy wasn't about getting licenses locked out. They had to go down this route due to how business is done. Edit mode was a good way out but if this business continues as aggressive as it is now then I fear the worst for this mode. I hope something is done about this and end exclusivity somehow and force both to go back to concentrating on what matters most: gameplay and what comes with it.

How does appointing Adam as a community manager speak volumes of Konami, Gerd? The guys at Konami are real hard at work and aren't lazy as some people like to think. This new game and engine show great promise.

About the blaming part, EA are definitely part to blame, because they aggressively encourage this license lockout. It's nothing new. It's just business, as usual.

yup. one of the best things about this demo for me is that players 'fill out' the pitch, which means a much tighter, more compact game, so you have be careful with your forward movements and passes. it's a stark contrast to the stickmen of pes2013

What speed are you playing on?

3 possibilites here: different code; lower AI difficulty (there is no option to change it in the demo); playing human players

if what you say fits none of these then i would appriciate some links so i can see for myself.

Please people upload videos of your experimenting with the LS and RS like TheSteeeeels just did, they're more interesting than screamers and bloody free kicks.

What speed are you playing on?

default/zero. i know you said youre using +2 -- and i dont know what you look for in a footbal game -- but it took me about 7-10 games to start feeling comfortable with the gamespeed, manual passing, and generally becoming a competent challenger for the AI. since i've become accustomed to the movement the intricacies are more natural and the game feels pretty good -- and seriously, i cant emphasis enough how bogged down my players felt in my first match

And it's not a catch up bug it's called realism lucky konami didn't make it extremely realistic where defenders actually foul you in real life so u dont break away but then again if that happened it would be called the foul bug.

People moaning that all people that buy Fifa buy it for the licenses and are stupid.......then everyone is moaning that Ea are buying all of the licenses and Pes can't get any? I'm confused. I thought people werent bothered about the licenses and it's all about gameplay?

Pes always had a lack of licenses and had great games, why bother hating EA? just play Pes and enjoy it?

I guess when license is considered here.. it is more of having real kits, isn't it ?
