So we get a good video and forget everything good about it and just talk about the nets like it's the be all end all. Great.

How about all the positive things in that video? Any mention of them?

Nothing unusual here. If nets were perfect people would complain about defending, or goalkeeper, or linesmen, or animations, or graphics.

There is always something to complain about.

Love the variety of ways you can receive the ball. Also feints and bursts look far more natural.

At first I thought controls will be cumbersome, but tried it without game, it's as easy as fighting in Fight Night Club! Amazing! :).

Btw 3 more videos to come before Gamescon kicks off. That would suggest 2 vids per week, so I guess, one more to come this week? ;)

2 next week? ;)

i dont understand, you havent said anything about the video but shout at others? what did you think of the video?

they never sounded unnatural for me. always seems like a step forward for feints/tricks, i'm very looking forward to using this

To be honest Lami, I'm not that impressed with what I've seen in those videos. Need to play this myself.
What didn't you like Jamezinho? Animations? Passing? GK? Shooting? Graphics?

I don't mind the complaining at all. I just have a problem with constant nit-picking and negativity and ignoring all positives. It's always cup half empty.

How am I shouting? I like the video and like what I've seen like animations, GK animations, some movements, etc, but also didn't like the nets. But I won't go ignoring everything positive I've seen and just mention nets as if that's what the video is about. We have to give credit where it's due in addition to mentioning the cons.

i simple do not like when people say "do not talk like this" even though themself not say 1 word about the video. everybody want to talk about what they care for, if you want to talk something different then post about that, but dont tell others to stop

Graphics look lovely, animations look more varied and more fluid, shooting looks better but still, I see too much old-gen PES in there.

I'm looking for a complete overhaul and I'm fully aware this year isn't that.

Well, honestly i'm tired to wait for the perfect game by KONAMI. So i am glad they are trying to overhaul it even if you say it still shows signs of old Pes.

Anyway, i don't see anything old gen Pes in that video.

I gotta say that I'm loving the Mandzukic controls. The animations are unbelievably fluid and beautiful, really hoping for no response issues.

does someone understand what "advanced shooting" is?

"advanced through ball" means the little white circle appears and 'slingshots' across the field, i guess, but what does advanced shooting mean?

Maybe more precision in terms of placement of the shot

So many concerns over these last few years with the actual game and people keep bring up nets as a valid point of concern. The PES community can look so childish sometimes...

One thing that concerns me since Pes 2010 and, analizing the videos, it seems that continues in Pes 2014, is the animations. By the videos, it seems that the gameplay continues to be a "slave" of its animations. This issue, naturally, results in a heavy and slow resposive jogability, just because the animations have to playback always with same velocity until its end to result in a shot on gol, a dribble, a pass, a cross, a slide, a tackle... Since Pes 2010, often I realize that I move the analog stick with more power than it´s necessary, trying to unconsciously "compensate" the slow response of Pes controls.

If during all this time you haven't really understood than half of the comments regarding nets are jokes and members taking the piss then really something is weird.
Having said that, Football Kingdom's net :APPLAUD: They put to shame all the newer generation's attempt.

For me nets are as important as any player animation. If you want to recreate authentic football you need authentic net movement. If you see a player hit a ball & and it swooshes the back of the net and then you play a video game and it looks like that balls just hit a metal gate. It's a big let down.

You're right, those tight nets take any impressive feeling you could have after scoring a screamer. In all seriousness, nets are important and it's a joke neither games have managed to get them right.

No, they're not. They should be as low as shoelaces on the priority list.
First off, you need to chill out a bit, the guy was joking.

And please, for the love of God, don't just say what should and shouldn't be important. It's your opinion. Sorry for jumping at you but that just drives me nuts!

Of course everybody wants the gameplay to take a leap forward and the same thing can be said about animations or the AI, etc. But of course there are some things which are less important than that. Which don't affect gameplay.

That could be the stadiums, the weather conditions, the crowd chants, the tech-fit kits, and the nets! All of these things should be improved, it's little details that made PES so special back in the day.

I wholeheartedly agree that this year it's important to nail the important aspects of the game. And if they do it, the should keep the good gameplay and only introduce minor tweaks to it to keep it innovative and fluid.

But please, Konami needs to address the little things about the game, they can wait for the gameplay to be as good as possible for now, but they deserve some attention as well, maybe after a year or two. But they really do.

Hopefully this year the gameplay and the fluidity of animations take PES to the next level. And next year the little details like the nets or the life-like crowd chants or hell, even the in-game graphics (pop-ups) is what's gonna take the game even higher and cause a "wow-moment" every once in a while.

And yeah, sorry for the long post - that's just my opinion.

:)
