Gaming is held back by the consoles. Many games are released on PC as well as consoles, but the PC versions can never really show what they can do because the consoles are unable to replicate it. And those consoles' specs do not change for their entire lifetime, while the PC manufacturers develop more and more powerful hardware - which barely gets used unless the game is a PC specific title and there aren't many of those around. Look at Xcom Enemy Unknown. The default graphics are very cartoony, but once the PC modders got hold of them, they looked crisp and gritty. Textures were improved, lighting improved, everything improved.

no - they just don't appear on european fields.
Putting them as an only option is senseless.. I think it's obvious.

All this constant arguing on the Internet from PC owners is getting on my tits. I'll play PES on console because it's a social experience unlike other games, and that ain't gonna happen if me and my mates all need to fork out thousands of pounds between us on PCs to play a few games online.

Yes, PES will be awesome on a gaming PC but it will also be awesome on next gen consoles (and current gen, too).

But it's the price of high-end gaming PCs that limit games, not consoles specifically. Devs won't spend all that extra effort into pushing the boundaries of top-end PC technology because barely anyone, in comparison to consoles, is willing to fork out thousands of pounds on top of the range, ultra machines in the first place.

It's plain old economics that limit games on PC.

Frankly I can't seem to read anything about games these days without threads being hijaked by people stating PCs are better. PCs price out most of the gaming public. And game devs will rarely push games to the level that require beastly PC specs because no-one would buy the game. That's why PES will look superior on gaming PCs but won't push boundaries of gaming technology on top of the range PCs.

ridiculous mate.. I have a gaming pc and it was only $100 more then the xbox when it was new... and it provides much more value then the xbox..games, movies, music, itunes, backup my apple devices, printer, i can do my finances, my taxes, etc... if anything you are spending way to much and getting little in return for a console...

I'm not talking about mid range PCs, or value for money, I'm talking about people bemoaning how consoles allegedly dumb down gaming by not allowing devs to push the boundaries and utilise high-end PC specs.

If we saw games making use of the top PC technology then those rigs would cost well over £1000. Sure, that improvement filters down into games on lower settings and cheaper PCs but I'm purely talking about high-end. And most people just won't pay that, which is why devs aim lower and get stuff out on various platforms instead.

I'm not criticising people for using PCs, far from it, but games like PES aren't driven on in tech terms because the numbers show the market isn't there to do so. And that's down to money and the amount it costs to build pcs with crazy specs.

Proper PC games (not ported ones) aren't limited by the console generation, the difference in quality is pretty clear most of the times.

People buy consoles because they want to pick-up the controller and play while sitting on the couch. No extra steps. It's not because it's cheaper because you can get a PC with similar performance at about the same price.

Consoles are awesome gaming and media centers tbh, if you don't do anything relevant with your PC hardware (and imo, if you don't play FPS, because those are meant to be played with a mouse, not with a joystick) besides web-browsing then the console really is your best option.

European fields aren't the be all and end all of football. Specially in PES in any way, ideally we would have different type of nets depending on where the football is played.South America deserves some respect.
I think it'd be dumb from them to just focus on Europeans.

I thought we all knew football is a world game, not just restricted to Europe. I find it ridiculous how some are still ignorant to that.

And of course I obviously said have it as an option. The more the merrier.

Hm.. You're right, I was generalizing. All in all, Your idea seems best :)

Just a FYI those kind of nets are also becoming very rare in Brazil.

Specially with the new stadiums for the WC none of them will have those, not evan Maracana or Mineirao who aways had this style.

I think in the first division this season only Volta Redonda stadium has it(wich is only been used temporarly by Rio de Janeiro teams, so technically its not evan a first division ground).

So its pretty much like England now, very soon in Brazil u'll only find this style on lower leagues(u still do in England, i recall Everton played a FA cup tie last season with those nets at some small lower division ground)

Also,i think that with styles of nets,should be better and realistic physic.From 2008-2011 was great physic,also i don know why people wanted to replace that.Now they are horrible.

Yes, its true, the physics of the old nets looked incredible, they messed up by fixing the shape and taking away those physics. Something to improve on 14.
 
What? I play 2013,and there is no feel when score a goal. I want that. Its like i am shooting in metal cage,not goal net.
I mean,even that net (you think that isnt important) is part of football game. So konami need to bring reallity.
Why many people look us strange,when we talk about nets? You dont care about that,but i dont care about boots and faces.People have opinions and i want just,for game,to be realistic.
 
They werent baggy,people just wanted to be shaped like in real life,squared,and i wanted too.But they masively destroyed physic from 2012,when they changed it.
I just want to have feeling,like i score a goal,when hit the ball,not like shoot on this:

They dont even react,its horrible.Every goal is same.
