True - it's not a massive thing but Konami need to step up all over the park.

For example - they can't get away with the usual trick of making us wait 3 weeks for transfers to be implemented via DLC. Why can't it happen sooner? And updates that break option files etc.

Whilst I am impressed and very hopeful with what the game will deliver on the pitch and potentially modes wise, they need to be more timely and careful with other aspects of the game.

Nah. The PC, plenty of mods that come out constantly. Nothing to worry about on that end.

Hmmmmm I'm loving PES so far.... unfortunatly I didn't even saw a damm goal.... one thing I didn't like about PES 13 was how the shots were so slow... the didn't have enough power behind them...... I hope they change that..... I don't want them to speed up the general gameplay(I actualy like to play it on -1 Game Speed)... just want to see those shots hit the net realisticlie...... :TTTH:
And actually that's the only thing good about FIFA for me..... I'm liking how they've been working on the shooting system.... unfortunatly the rest of the game sucks!!! :RANT:
But that's why PES exists.... :WORSHIP:

The options are near limitless, you just need to spend time playing around with the tactics systems to figure out what works best for you.

Konami has been vocal about how PES 2014 is now running on a variation of the FOX Engine and the differences are noticeable from the moment you start playing. Players are more detailed and their facial expressions reflect their mood on the pitch more accurately, so if the ref gives away a contentious decision they’ll scream so vocally you can see the anger in their face. Animation is more fluid too, and the prescribed way players interacted with the ball is thing of the past, and is far more flowing this year.

Hopefully what they're saying about heart and morale is actually noticable. Seeing teams make mistakes and clumsy shots and tackles would definitely add much more realism. It would be great to see teams "reach their peak" sort of and have their golden eras. Would make playing ML and League mode fun and more challenging.

What would be good is if there was some kind of news feed or via the pre-game cutscenes that you were told about your opponent's form. e.g. Coming up against Barca in a Champions League match I'd want to know if they were on top of their game and smashing teams every week, or whether they had come off 2 losses in a row and were vulnerable. That kinda stuff.

At present we have stuff like, "they're a physical team and they like to get the ball to such and such player." I'd like the form and team morale to be included at this screen so I could set up accordingly. Maybe even knowledge of whether an opponent is coming off an injury so we can target them physically or by double teaming them and running them off their feet ;)

Can't we currently look at a teams match results in ML and League mode? If so, we could use that to judge their performance. Hopefully what IGN says is true, it would make ML and League more immersive, looking at a teams stats, player ratings, and so on. Though we would need to see good examples of heart and morale, which i think is unlikely until we play several games in ML or League ourselves and notice a difference.

Yeah but I don't want to have to go back over tables and standings and review games myself - if I can even do so for a team in another league.
 
I'm impressed. Now if they could just announce that pes2014 is the end of shifty English commentary, we're golden. Getting tired of hearing the same boring crap over and over. With that said..more licenses would be helpful.
 
Love the looks of how the game flows in gamespot vids.. Robben traps the ball with his chest is epic, very close resembling his move (his hand gesture actually :P ) in real world.

Don't you think there is another reason ?
Maybe the South-American and Asian markets are just a tiny litle bit bigger than the UK market ? No ?
 
We will also have the Asian Champion's League in PES 2014 so there will be a large range of teams to play with. Hoping for an easier (online) editing system though and one that allows sharing of components so that we can get option files up and running quickly and easily.

Do you really think that in Brazil, Argentina or any other Latin American country are more people who can afford to pay 60$ for a single game, then in one UK??

Yes they can. There is a growing wealthy middle class in Brazil and most of the other Southern American countries are moving despite the still endemic problems of corruption and environmental damage in the right direction.

Your attitude is the sort one hears in the UK about Eastern Europe and eastern Europeans, that it is a hellhole of misery and deprivation.

Whilst it may be true unfortunately in some places thanks to all the oligarchs that are there, it is also wide of the mark.

Anyway the mod community on PC make all this licensing irrelevant.

I am hoping that the new commentary reflects the 'heart' idea that Konami are trying to implement into the game and that more of it is ad libbed rather than being read from a script.

And perhaps a tad more intelligent and relevant to the game situation. Perhaps that is for next year and beyond along with dynamic lighting as in GTR2, F1 and dynamic weather which should be well within the capabilities of the Fox Engine.
 
That's very true, of course. Trouble is, in Asia in particular, the Premier League is all people want to watch.

The Premier League is almost a global league these days. It transcends all continents. That's why it's so important to EA.

Personally i could not bring myself to buy FIFA 13. I purchased the demo and while it does a lot of things well the core gameplay is still too pacey and rigid for me. I am not certain that EA will be able to rely on marketing for ever (and i am not suggesting that this is all they have done since 07 - clearly that is not the case) particularly if Konami have finally gotten thier act together. That said Konami look as if they are trying to be a wee bit smarter in thier own marketing in trying to open up new areas of the world to the game - areas that are not in thrall to EA. The aquisition of the Brazilian and now the Argie and Chilean leagues are great moves by Konami. Obviously this needs to be accompanied by continued strides in gameplay of the sort that appear to have happened with PES 2014.

Will this knock EA off its f*cking perch? Probably not, at least not in the short term. I have already read a few articles from various on-line mags making observations from E3 which seem to take FIFA as the benchmark for football games and confuse "authenticity" with licencing first and foremost. I just hope that Konami can stay on course and get the priorities right as i don't think they necessarily have to beat EA at their own game anymore.

Maybe i am being naive but feck it. Things are looking up.

2K having an excellent basketball game doesn't mean they have a good Football game. Their Baseball game for example isn't good from what I heard.

Absolutely agree. They understand basketball, they know what and how it's work but they don't have idea from football like a sport. I'm sure if they start to make Football game will be just second FIFA or even worst .

And two latest basketball games are far from perfect. Scripted momentum is way too significant; bad footplanting, terrible defence vs offense balance, rebounding issues, morphing through bodies.

So far so good, but need some gameplay expierence for final judgement. Lets hope for the best :)

It look like MASS isn't just for aesthetic or gimmick. You can utilize it to your advantage (or disadvantage).

But we need more devs to make Footy games to create more competition. Imagine if we only had one racing game lol

All 2k sport games are good...But the football is different...

The football games are the most difficult games..
 
Looks like a barrage of feedbacks has reached Adam's twitter. Poor guy, it's almost like cyber-harassment. I feels like some people are too phobic. They keep badgering him with questions to the smallest detail. Majority of these feedbacks are based on 5 minutes Masuda poor gameplay footage.

I really hope there'll be only one demo. And the demo should closely represent the final build, as a final selling point to potential buyer out there, no longer for gathering feedback.
 
I really,really, don't understand how people can complain about something regarding gameplay when they didn't play it.
 
So Seabass was quietly put out to pasture then? I remember last year there was speculation he was secretly working on the FOX engine version of PES.
