Winning eleven 9, release date...

Remember how everyone was complaining here on evo web about how many 0-0 we had while playing? I was here, i remember that day.

Rememeber how that game was after considered the best Pes ever after few weeks of playtime?

I can only hope that is the case. I really want the ultimate We9 balanced games in Pes 2014.

Masuda, Pes Team, don't you dare to change the pace of the game or passing and scoring difficulty just to accomodate the casual gamers. The real gamers will thank you later if you will not fall to the casual gamers audience.
I asked Adam on Twitter to let Konami know that we like the current game speed and he said it won't change, as those who found it too fast were told there was a gamespeed setting.. You're welcome!!

That guy is cleary a EA douche bag. Come on, Licenses? Is that it? He needs to get an early freebie so he'll blow any EA rep he can. Fuck off dude..

Some people argue it won't favour competitive gaming or 10 minutes per-match online mode. That's why i always insist it's better to build the game around offline mode. That should be their priority.

balanced games will greatly favour online competitive play
right now, Pes 2013 feels like a goal fest

He seems to criticize two things:

1. PES 2014 would be too slow and there would be too little goal-opportunities with many at the E3 struggling to score at all.
This is great news to me, scoring goals should be needing really good play and dedication so that they feel special. I'm glad that those playing for 5-10 minutes at a show didn't immediately get the hang of it. Mastering the game and having a good learning-curve is imho a major plus. And as I'm already playing with 20 minutes-30 minutes a match in PES 2013, this slow, realistic approach suits me just fine.

2. PES 2014 wouldn't have nearly enough licenses and therefore by default Fifa 14 wins.
That one, he is right! Mainstream customers care the most for licenses in a football game. If their favourite league is not licensed in the game out of the box, the interest for the game goes from 100 to 0. I've seen it with my colleagues at work, they were amazed at the footage of PES 2014 but the moment they heard their league is not licensed, the interest vanished immediately.
Yes, we can search and download all the fanmade licenseskits, but mainstream-customers can't be bothered to do that.

So yeah, Fifa 14 will undoubtedly sell way more because of licenses, that's the reality.

When some people don't like the game it is actually good news for some of us. If someone that loves FIFA 13 would love the new PES I would be worried and see that as bad news.

Well, then i have some bad news for you.
I used to be a big PES fan. After PES6 i only liked PES2011 (which despite the many flaws was a good game). PES 2012 and PES 2013 are attrocious, but i really like FIFA since 2011 (and also 2013).

I also like a lot of what i have seen of the demo, but i'm not one of the people who are talking about the return of the king until i have played the Retail version.

One question. It seems that for the big fans of both FIFA and PES the other game is also very important (as being much less good than the favourite one).

Why is this ? If you like PES, why is FIFA so important ? Just occupy with the game you love and don't care about the other one...isn't this because deep down you know very well that since a couple of years FIFA is the better one.

Since this post people like you will consider me a "FIFA fan boy"...

This is fo years now the most schizophrenic thread on this forum...

A question that bothers me: How many people actually know that FIFA is made by a Canadian Studio? Because I suspect some people believe it's an English game.

Actually many not realize it's not that Konami are lazy or didn't want to secure the licenses. It's just they can't especially if the clubs and league are individually tied to some other company (EA). The other example, the Bundesliga, it's exclusively tied to EA Sports. Konami can't have anything resemble the Bundesliga on the game, not even fake team with fake player. This is little bit special, all thanks to EA lawsuit few years back.

The real reason a company would secure these type of deals is to lock out rival company from any competition.

You do realize that goes both ways, right? Pretty much everyone who's more regular on this thread than on FIFA's gets shoot down by saying anything at all on the FIFA thread that's not so positive as usual.

isn't this because deep down you know very well that since a couple of years FIFA is the better one.

Sorry, but NO. I never talk about Fifa as being conscious it's the better one simply because for me it isn't. It has its good share of problems and positive things, but i just don't like the basic way it plays.

I understand people who like EA game's because online is better, more stable, licenses and such, but talking about gameplay i think Pes since Pes 2011 it's better than Fifa.

Now that the animations are at a good level on Pes too, i think the only gap is in modes and online.

That is the next step.

Yea, they do get shot down when they go over there with a fecking great big PES avatar and a fanboy thong making outlandish negative predictions about FIFA 14 just because they're all jazzed up after seeing a decent PES 2014 video and a few screenshots that suggest nothing at all about how the game will actually play:))

@zulucosta regarding #PES2014, the debate is void. Error in 4 bar is there, you can't blind pass anymore. Through ball also totally reworked

That post is both idiotic and ironic, considering your attitude on this thread and the content of literally ALL of your posts.

I only criticized what I saw, mainly because I miss playing football games and EA has been pulling out the same crap for about 3 years, claiming a revolutionary change at the exact same time they show that absolutely NOTHING has changed. Or worse, showing something as a feature that has been there before for years

There's no denying I'm a PES fan but I enjoy sports games above all. EA just absolutely disgust me as a company and it's not only because of FIFA.

It seems like its gonna be very difficult to score in pes. I was just watching kicktv; they didn't seem to like the slow pace of the game; and said that eight games being played simultaneously had the score of 0 - 0. There was a twitter comment that said the same thing; they had to let the other person to score. Looks like the average playing time would probably double to 20mins instead of the usual 10 minutes. One thing liked about pes, was how difficult it is to get a chance on goal and how satsifying it was just to score a goal; it looks like they are taking a serious stance in simulation football, and hopefully they will stick with it.

they were playing 2 minute halfs thats whay nobody scored

If being idiotic and ironic to you means having a measured and sensible opinion of what Konami has shown so far in light of the games they've produced in recent years, so be it:)) Like every year I really hope Konami produces the PES game we are all pining for.

No, it's about having a measured and sensible opinion of what you're shown. You can't comment about what you don't know, but if what you're shown is positive and shows clear change are you supposed to just ignore all that?

The reason why I kept hope for all these years is the evidence that Konami was capable and competent in the past, but up until E3 I was very skeptic about the whole thing, especially when they release screens and videos that didn't show the game properly at all. But on E3 footage there's clear evidence of a good game and proper effort put into it, unlike everything EA has shown so far.

So until evidence stating otherwise I'll keep this reasoning.

pfffttttt, never believed him when he was independant, definitely not gunna believe him now he's affiliated.

No chance of 4 bars being anything less than lazer guided, none, it's there for a reason and that is to allow those sorts of people to play that type of football. Otherwise, why have assisted settings in the first place?

licenses? one week after pes realesed date we have pacthes that makes the game even better then fifa.

Exactly.

Licenses are a complete waste of money. Let EA waste their money on exclusives deals.

It's a non-issue for those of us on the PC (which is the best platform of course). Mods take care of all those issues. Fifa is complete crap. EA does not know how to make sports games period. Everything is so generic. Every player and every team feel exactly the same.. This goes for FIFA, Medden, NCAA Football, etc..

How anyone can support that garbage company EA I have no idea. They tried to kill off PC Gaming years ago. Failed. And who do you think is behind all the Xbox One DRM policies. Of ourse they waived online passes, they knew XB1 had DRM. They are a garbage company and should be boycotted.

this is what ive been trying to point out to him

if 4 bar is so free and relies on actual accurate input then the differences between 4 bar and 3 bar, for example, must be very minimal. it would make having 5 pass settings redundant, and yet adam argues that all these options are needed for online filters because it would be unfair for a 3 bar player to play against a 4 bar player.

it seems contradictory to me.

No, not really mate. We go through this every bloody year with Konami. You can't just look at the E3 videos and screens and masturbate vigorously for days without remembering the games they've produced that last few years and also without playing the game. I'm happy with what they presented at E3, but I'm also skeptical about how it will actually play out. Anyway, I don't want to argue with you as you seem like a good lad and I know your're passion for PES and football:))

Maybe they rebalanced passing assistance and now 4 bars feels like pes 2013 2 bars? If this is what they have done, it's excellent.

Just one simple question. What do you want from Pes to make you say:"This is a really good game"?
Let's see if it's the same i'm asking for.

I'm feeling confident about PES 14 because the videos make it appear to be a better game than Fifa 14 (regardless of version). The slower pace looks realistic, the AI actually passes backwards occasionally, and it doesn't seem to have lost any of the polished presentation it had back when I used to play PES all the time.

Obviously, you cannot make a final decision based on a video, but there are some things you can glean from videos, such as graphics, AI quality and game speed; right now PES is ahead on all counts in my opinion.

Another thing - the single worst thing about the PES 13 demo for me was the shooting - it felt like kicking a balloon; no matter what I did, the ball always went up in the air. That seems to have been well and truly addressed for PES 14.

That hasn't been my experience - but PES 14 does seem to be a more accurate representation of the Beautiful Game.

Its all i see and it seems pes is too boring for fifa fans as you not scoring every all the time.

Fifa just doesnt represent a proper game of football for me, without fifa's decent online its very average.
