My dear Polish friend.
I'm very honoured that you quoted my post and wanted to make a reply. What a big honour that my posts are even read in Poland...A post from a Belgian simpleton (Belgium ! simpleton !) read and commented by someone from Plopsaland , sorry Poland...it is too much.

And this from a person who uses words like Anno Domini...very knowlegeable and intelligent too...and this for a mere semi-illiterate peasant like me...

And that, my dear and honoured friend, is my problem...i don't understand what your wise words might mean...please descend from heaven and explain the plebs what you mean...it is without a doubt of vital importance...

I'm sorry to disturb you from your philosophical musings with this utter stupid reply, nut i am very curious and would like to learn from you.

Meanwhile, please accept my kind regards and my general and undiluted admiration.

Yours truly.

gerd

I would have just ignored the one-post troll, but you made my day with that response .

Great job! :D

I'd say remove it entirely. Motivation was the only good explanation for the day-to-day variation in form (arrows) and now they (still arrows) make even less sense.

I think the problem is that Konami haven't balanced the heart feature against the form arrows. With the right combination of form and heart against a team with players on poor heart and form, it makes the game far too easy.

To balance it out in the future, I'd prefer to see the heart feature replace form arrows entirely. They pretty much do the same things anyways, heart is just a dynamic form arrow at the end of the day. With both together, you can have a guy on a red arrow and red heart which virtually equates to doubling his stat increases. Players are overpowered enough on red form arrows as it is.

I'd definitely see no problem in removing form arrows and sticking with the heart feature, form is changeable during a game anyways so the heart feature is more relevant.

I just realized one of the things that makes this game so disturbing is the lack of proper foot planting. Many times you se the players feet glide and take way too many steps. There is a gliding feeling all over the game which is utterly unpleasant.

I don't see the gliding at all during gameplay.

Yea, I turned of the heart/emotion shenanigans the first week. Form and player skills is enough in my opinion. Just too much voodoo going on behind the scenes.

What a stupidity. Seriously. Konami used to have the perfect formula for tyred players and form. Sudenly, they get rid of physical condition and only got form arrows, completely random. It´s f"%#$#g annoying!!!! Now they mixed with heart, in an overpowered edition. Come on!!! So many ways of making a realistic feature ad they do this? I mean, I could do better for free!!

Sometimes I play WE9LE to get that feeling and GOD! How I miss those days. But I can´t stop playing this 2014 edition because it has so much potencial! Please Konami, stop worring with the wrong things!!! Get it simple, get it wright!

The perfect shitstorm you end up with when the online is at its worst is almost impressively vile. Passes that either take 7 seconds to be played even though you can see the power bar charged throughout; the surprise first time passes that so often kick in as you're through on goal; defenders wandering past loose balls so Victor Montaño can head for goal; the player switching that steadfastly refuses to select one of the defenders perfectly placed to deal with a fairly benign threat until said threat is out of reach; shots that simply don't happen, or when they do are guaranteed to go just wide just because my player isn't RVP...
The number of times I've played someone who's ended up with under 40% possession and passing around the 50-60% mark (pass, pass, HOOF) is absurd. And yet I can't really capitalise because everything's slow-mo, or seems (seems, mind) tone conspiring against my control and intricacy, in favour of their kick-and-run blunderbussing. The last guy had 38% passing. 38%.

If only online could play like offline, like it should have done for the past 4, 5 years. At it's worst, it's the sticky shit that manages to stick all the broken glass and hair and used plasters to PES's brand new shoe.

just seen a post on WENB linking to a youtube video which PROVES the catch up bug and it's nothing more than a physics issue which is causing a player with an outstretched arm to drag the player on the ball back without actually being quite near enough.

I never really paid too much attention to it but yeah it's definitely that. There's nothing particularly wrong with the way players run back to chase the ball apart from at that moment. They do some weird foot thing where they take very quick small steps. Very strange.

Online was fun for the first couple of days. On reflection, I put it down to nobody knowing how to play it.

It has to be one or the other and not both. I agree that the heart thingy is probably better than the form arrows.

As an unrelated note I want to say that I wish the game was a bit harder. I am seriously thrashing all opposition now with a goal difference of 17-2 in my last 6 matches... and I'm not even trying to be super-effective. I wish the AI would be a bit more aware in defense and a bit more innovative in attack. They also get way too stressed by frontline pressure and compact defending. I have both at 1 now and I still frustrate them too much to let them play their own game.

Once I get the first goal it becomes a walk in the park. The AI goes higher to get the equalizer, their defensive line gets too high and I can counter them so easily that it ain't fun no more.

People here know how much I've slated the game but no, this is not a problem. There is no skating. There is actual foot planting compared to Fifa despite the wonderful increase in animations.

I think the foot planting is the best there's ever been in a football game.

Had an absolute blast on this tonight, I have to say. Started a League Mode with PSG, as for the first time ever I actually enjoy playing as top teams. I never usually do it, but the main differences in this are down to skills and body balance etc rather than speed, which is fantastic.

The French League is about as authentic as I'm gonna get on this game, PSG have those lovely default green nets famous in French football, so far every game has been at night which doesn't account for all French games, but a lot are played at night. Also, I like the Canal Plus and licenced Ligue 1 logos. And of course all the teams are fully licensed.

Anyways, I lost every game tonight but had a great time playing. I'm on Superstar and zero assisted passing, and so far the AI is vastly superior in this mode to exhibition mode. Most games, the COM had more of the ball overall, more chances, and the closing down is ramped up considerably. The lack of closing down in exhibition mode was a huge problem for me, but so far it seems fixed in this mode.

Also, my little experiment with the keepers went well, I just flat refused to use Y to bring him out (I used to use Y to narrow the angles before a shot came in) but it seems to cause something to go wrong with the keeper AI if you use it for anything other than bringing him far out of his goal. So far so good. He did concede a few dodgy goals in that he got caught out on a few crosses, neither got to the ball nor stayed on his line, then didn't react when the header went last him but then the ball was close by when the player headed towards goal. Iffy, but you see those types of goals all the time in real life.

If the patch can fix up the keepers then I'll be happy enough as the game in the middle of the park is amazing. My issue has always been keepers and the lack of COM pressing in their own penalty area, but this doesn't seem apparent so far in League Mode.

One last thing, I was mucking around with my TV's White Balance settings today, and found that reducing the green offset and increasing the blue offset gives the game a far more realistic, natural colour cast. In fast the game suddenlly looks miles better. The lights from the stadiums for example give off a kind of bluish tone like they did in PES2010 near both goals. Worth giving a go I'd say.

Do different match balls have different weights in the game? I always play with the old 'classic ball'. Today I tried the 'PES 2009 claw'. This ball seems to be a bit heavier.

I've often wondered if there was any difference in how the balls played in PES but I've not noticed anything myself. I may try the "old fashioned" 50s and 60s style balls and see .....

I'm a lucky one I guess. No stutter. No problem with shooting. No slowdown. No problem with difficulty or opponent AI or my team AI. No game breaking bugs. My only point is, the animations can still be smoother.

What difficulty and type of controls are you using? Also what modes are you playing? Contrary to what you are experiencing, I'm finding the game very difficult on professional, playing all manual controls. Keep just losing in league mode :) tried ML too and it is very challenging!!

The one problem many seem to face is that top teams don't play against you like top teams. We have seen people complaining that it's easy to beat teams like Spain, Brazil, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc.

The easy solution to this problem is to reset the 'SHIFTING TO ATTACK' in team style above 12 points. By default, this is set very low for top teams. While this would work for AI vs AI but when the AI plays against human opponents, it's not good enough.

I just finished a game playing as Germany vs Spain where Spain had 57% possession and 16 shots to my 5 shots. I was under pressure - off the ball - all the time. But I won 2-1. Well . . . that's football.
