Input lag, non-existant
Crazy defenders just standing there - nope
Terrible keepers on 1v1s - nope
CPU fouls - yep
Balanced offense/defense without your team playing a suicidal high line
Winnable headers but not over-weighted on way or the other
No online lag
Rain!
No clumsy collisions
No crappy fk cheat
No over easy lobs
John Terry isn't faster than Ronaldo on the field

etc. etc. etc.

It's fine to say "ridiculous" and pes2007 does have it's drawbacks, only 16 directions, etc. but playability wise, it's still ahead of where 2014 is now.

As I stated weeks ago, PES 2014 is 75% greatness, 25% shit. Until they sort that 25% out! I prefer a game that doesn't have a string of game-breaking issues.

Is is still work for 360 ?

I believe that there really is a truly great game in there somewhere, and it has massive potential but some of the glitches are simply unexcusable. It just feels like an unfinished version.

I wanted to see if anyone else has suffered this problem.....

Playing ML with Man U (I want to try it out with a good team first whilst I get used to new gameplay :)))My left sided CB keeps going 'walkabout' in general play. I've never seen anything like it! He just keeps drifting up field beyond my strikers so he's actually the furthest player up the pitch and leaving a massive gap in my defence. What the hell's going on?!! I've tried switching tactics and checking I haven't accidentally set him to man mark the oppositions CB but there's nothing. I've also tried switching CBs, but that just means the other one does the same thing.

In the end, I had to pack in my ML as it became unplayable. I've just started a new one and the problem seems to have disappeared, I just hope it doesn't randomly appear again half way through it.

2 weeks of gameplay down the drain....cheers Konami

One more thing....many of you keep going on about the 'November patch' - do we know what it's going to include? Have they acknowledged that the game is 'unfinished' and they're going to fix the glitches? Or are we just living in hope?

Yesterday i had one of those memorable sessions of PES.
I know i've been ranting about the unfinished product that PES2014 (and i still maintain this), but yesterday evening i played two magical matches...really great.

I'm playing with Udinese and i had to play against Inter and then Lazio.
The first match was a really tense match that i won with 1-0. Some people would call my goal a GK error, but i don't agree at all with them (i still maintian that i don't see much GK errors and having been a GK myself, i know what i'm talking about). Undinese totally dominated Inter, but Handanovic was magical until the goal. And even then, i had a very good counter with a Di Natale cross that was deflected by Muriel. Handanovic had a fantastic save, but unfortunately for him the ball bounced straight into Muriel. I had to control the ball with R2 and then could score a relatively easy goal. This goal was in injury time of the first half. The second half was a roller coaster. Inter tried to pressure Udinese and all i could do was counter... The match ended in a hard fought but highly satisfying 1-0.

The second match was against Lazio. I couldn't score in the first half but i also dominated Lazio (both matches were at home by the way). In the second half i scored a long distance goal with my favourite PES2014 player Merkel: a corner was cleard um the field. Merkel catched around the middle circle, had a chest control, ran some 10 metres and shot at goal...a fantastic and very satisfying goal.
The rest of the match Lazio tried to equalize but left spaces at the back and i scored two very good counter goals...

A great night of PES.

And for the record: the gameplay is 90 more than OK, the best PES ever...shame that the finishing touch isn't there...really Konami....why do you always have to shoot yourself in the foot.

I really hope the upcoming patch will not change the gameplay but tweak it a litle bit, they need to iron out some things and then they would have the perfect gameplay. As for the rest...well i've said it all...no need to repaet myself.

You played vs CPU. Really, really magical moments. You vs console. Emotions are knocking socks off. Orly.
Anno Domini 2013.

Take a look at Konamis PES Instagram page. http://instagram.com/p/e9Yh0UGobo/# and you will find the following statement:

Sorry for the mistakes that PES 2014 has so far. I want to inform that the PES Team is working to fix them, and that in November will be released a patch that will solve: • Manual Control issues. • Slowdown in the final 3rd. • Adjustments to the porters, shooting and the AI. • More fluidity to star player dribbling. • Online Fixes. • Addition of copy and team based export / import for edit mode. •Addition of faces.

Doesn't sound that bad but "Adjustments to the porters, shooting and the AI" could mean anything of course.

Oh shit they are not fixing the actual slowdown. In their instagram, to him slowdown in final 3rd refers to being caught by defenders and not the drop in framerate. Oh my god seriously. Oh my god.

Which WE version was that?

Terrible miscommunication again? Language barrier? Adam clearly is aware of the slowdown being a framerate drop in offline matches on ps3 and not a speed issue between strikers and defenders.

I would also make a backup before moving club incase you don't like the new club.

As for the speed of the game it could be down to the player heart levels and after half a season they will start to play better. I found that in mine and have seen a few people saying all of a sudden response improved.

One thing you could try is to change the default stadium for madrid to the one you had at asrenal

I wish I made a backup, I am 19 matches now, top of the league with Madrid but my players are still blue like with Heart, qualified for CL on top, same. But yet my National Team (England) is all red and playing well.

This Heart thing is bad implemented, basically since I won the treble with Arsenal, it is trying to screw me over with Madrid, CR7 is the top scored but yet he is not motivated at game 19, what could my players really do to get the motivation. Because of this the games are just awful, I'm just playing them to finish to season and maybe find another team that I can enjoy.

Why should we do this in a year like 2013. Terribly amateurish compared to ea.

The gameplay in training is fantastic though. Brilliant. Nothing short.

I am able to score all type of goal in training mode, the game is just amazing in there, same with Exhibition but once you go ML say hi to Mr. Heart, Mr Heart is there to ruin your experience. First I didn't know so crashed my PES 2014 blurray, then I missed it and went on to buy a digital version. There are people who might not have a problem with scripting or someone called it CPU stats boosts/Human stats reduce, but for me I like to lose a game by saying wow, how could the CPU really pull that OFF, why did I make that mistake?, I hate seeing a goal just because KONAMI scripted it that way without any logic, either your keeper just give it away when he could have put it away or your players do stupid stuff you didn't tell them to do. All I want it logic, the AI that respect physics and all, sometimes it like the ball is glued to CPU players.

I really still think the game in the training mode is better than anything we have ever seen before. But thats because my game slows like mad everytime we go near the penalty box. Maybe they expected me to be seedorf on every attack.

I can only enjoy the game in Exhibition or training mode (here I'm even able to score screamer). Gameplay + Scripting (bad Heart) = Deal breaker + could make you destroy your Controllers or break the TV

You are able to score screamer on training mode because its on regular diffuculty by default. Also that cause more balanced cpu without boosting itself etc.

We need to wait and see. But i can't imagine that they don't fix the framerate problems in the box. It is a known issue and you must be completely blind and deaf if you not recognize it. I'm sure it will be fixed. Must be.

Quick question, can you turn off heart in master league mode?

I am rooting for Konami to give us an option to turn off Heart in ML. I just can't understand why a good idea of heart couldn't be well implemented but is only there to ruin the gameplay experience. Yes motivation and all is there even in real life, but you wouldn't see Ronaldo or Messi leave the ball and run away just because he is not motivated (If you have a video of John Terry/Puyol running away from the ball just because he had a bad day please share with us).

You just can't have a team of 11 players all in blue going into a match, really?, not even a single one motivated?

If I ever see Kei Masuda, one action would be into in my mind. Slap him in the face for the Heart feature, then Praise him for Ball physics, M.A.S.S and all

100% sure they know about it. It's everywhere.

That said, the community are absolutely atrocious at explaining what they mean, or using the right word to describe what they mean. It's staggering. Going by the terminology fans use is a waste of time - 90% of the time they're talking about something completely different, or don't understand what the actual problem is. Words like lag, slowdown, rubberbanding, scripting etc etc don't really mean anything in the hands of the masses. If there is any confusion it's because people prioritise volume over accuracy.

I'm sure there must be a thousand comments like this of mine, but I have to say it. PES2014 is broken, it's not a PES at all. I have it on PC, have no slowdown problems, but it is not fun. I mean, making the perfect simulation of football will become the most boring videogame ever!!!

I like to play and watch real football, but I also can see that this is a boring game some times: it could be a whole game without any chance of goal; even 2 or 3 in a row.

PES is supposed to be a videogame. Take it and enjoy it. I'm still playing PES2013 online in PS3 and I won't be buying 2014 for it. I'll try to learn the new way of playing on my PC, but the fun I get from 2013 is not into 2014.

Agreed. it's utter nonsense.

for one I have noticed that the 'catch up bug' appears to be 3 different things depending on which person you listen to.

just seen a post on WENB linking to a youtube video which PROVES the catch up bug and it's nothing more than a physics issue which is causing a player with an outstretched arm to drag the player on the ball back without actually being quite near enough. Now go somewhere else and they will tell you that catch up is where you have 2 players running and the slower one will always catch up no matter what. The end result is the same (there becomes a competitive battle for the ball) but they are not the same bug.

although i will say that proper testing, identification of issues and transparency with the community about what issues exist and what they are could solve this very easily. kindof like a dev diary but i can't see this sort of thing happening with a japanese company

I agree with that!
100%.
Really can't wait for flaws fix they will release, hoping that they actually do that properly and don't mess things up.

On the other hand I agree with people stating this is not true new engine, I feel that as just a revamped engine.
I'm actually playing the xbox version (UNTIL HOPEFULLY THE SLOWDOWN ON THE PS3 IS FIXED) and it's totally fine. Playing against my nephew and were having a blast. All the correct league's and kits and it's great. I'm not seeing that many keeper mistakes if i'm honest.

Yeah you get the odd ones, you need to not fixate to much on these as it will just ruin the game for you. Play the game for what it is and you will really enjoy it.

Yes it's got a few flaws and hopefully the important ones will get fixed ie online(which is shocking) and offline 2 player slowdown(ps3).

Your posts are always quality mate. Spot on.
That's true, but I believe developers are used to apply some kind of filters and counterweight when interpreting the mass.

Read the instragram link? The official guy described slowdown as striker being caught up. So many of us are not playing the game or enjoying it because of the actual framerate slowdown. It's also not possible to capture in a video because it's so subtle.

Anno Domini 2013.

My dear Polish friend.
I'm very honoured that you quoted my post and wanted to make a reply. What a big honour that my posts are even read in Poland...A post from a Belgian simpleton (Belgium ! simpleton !) read and commented by someone from Plopsaland , sorry Poland...it is too much.

And this from a person who uses words like Anno Domini...very knowlegeable and intelligent too...and this for a mere semi-illiterate peasant like me...

And that, my dear and honoured friend, is my problem...i don't understand what your wise words might mean...please descend from heaven and explain the plebs what you mean...it is without a doubt of vital importance...

I'm sorry to disturb you from your philosophical musings with this utter stupid reply, nut i am very curious and would like to learn from you.

Meanwhile, please accept my kind regards and my general and undiluted admiration.

Yours truly.

gerd

You're one of the rare few with 2 consoles. PlayStation has never suffered across many other graphic intensive games. Oh well lets hope.
