Just watched a program called the blurb that reviews games and had fifa and pes on. Pes looks like it is from the next generation of hardware to fifa yet to tag the reviews you would think the opposite. It's infuriating to see other UK mainstream media up fifa's arse

That makes sense. I remember reading Adam tweet something about La Liga stadia was excluded last minute. I think they aimed to reproduced realistic match experience from broadcast perspective. Completely reworked every aspect from presentation to the sound department. Shame though about the unfortunate circumstances.
You lost me. Your whole post sounds like sarcasm, bit bitter. Are you taking my post as a complaint?
I was merely complimenting Konami effort for aiming big. It ain't easy working with tight budget and time, and to expect everything to be perfectly done in day one.

That is what money pays for man.
It going to get to a stage where PES is so far ahead of FIFA in every single department it can compete in even when EA pay reviewers off they would have to admit it themselves.
Its EA's usual clever tactic but their lack of wisdom will leave them in a world of shit one day. You can't get way with doing this forever, sooner or later they will have to pull their finger out and genuine make a good game with proper gameplay.

looks like people on xbox love the game and people on ps3 hate it. Is there anyone on ps3 without gameplay problems? I really don't want to buy xbox just to play pes 2014. I got used to ps controller over last "100years" and I don't want to switch. Besides I have ps3 as blu player in every room in the house where I have TV. I just want to buy the game already!

I have the digital copy on PS3 and it's like butter. In my opinion, best football game ever made, on the pitch. Buy it already and stop stressin'

Thanks, but I would prefer hard copies if I can. I like to hold the box under my pillow when I sleep so I can become better player next day
. If I install hard copy on PS3s hard drive will that be the same as digital copy from PSN? If download digital copy to one PS3 can I play on another Ps3 in a different room?

Delightful Route One goal earlier in ML. Managed to sign a keeper with "low-trajectory punt" and damn if it didn't come to pass in his second game of the new season. Long, low, line-drive punt to my SS who header flicked it to the already sprinting CF and bang a long shot top left corner from outside the box. First long shot goal in many games. I must have filled the bar past 3/4 full. Don't know if i pressed it in time, but i did press square at around contact to add knuckle shot. Tied the match with that, too.

I think you are doing Fifa a massive dissservice there, and all the hardwork and effort thats gone into it. Fifa is a great game in its own right. I find with some custom tactics editing and sliders tweaked it plays and surpasses anything this pes has to offer and beats it hands down for variety in animation, shot types and collisions. You have to play on manual to appreciate it though.
With this Pes its a good base, and hopefully with the next patch it will prompt me to pick up again, i tried starting a league with Ajax and it all felt a little flat.
Klashman is that on PC you are playing? I noticed the ball you have is different?

No, I played manual before. I know manual but after a while it becomes repetitive because it doesn't fix any of the core issues. Its terrible, that is not realistic football. That is one dimensional football:

Takes time to get into the new PES, learn how to utilise the tactics system, get used to your players and look to investigate the stats, what each milestone means and how it affects your play.

Online has become much more stable recently. it's not perfect but it's completely playable. currently unbeaten in MLO but only played 8 games

I like the discussion here, in the PC section as like other years it just descends into people talking about technology. My video card can do this and that, you know. You get good debate and stories here.
Hopefully the fix will be more concentrated on ps3, the November huge patch. Have a feeling this game was done on pc and then ported over. Or maybe on Xbox. No way was this done on ps3 first. Clear framerate issues, something even Adam and konami have acknowledged.

One of my housemates is an avid FIFA fan, and has bought FIFA 14 - we've played a fair bit of co-op Ultimate Team...
It's a dreadful football game... As with any of the recent FIFAs, pace and strength are ridiculously overpowered. You can pretty much give the ball to a guy with 90 pace and completely run around the outside of the opposition, or just chip through ball in the general direction of a strong/fast striker and somehow bundle through the defence.
Build-up play is an optional time-waster that serves no real purpose in terms of results, keepers are atrocious at dealing with crosses, shooting is predictable and scripted (despite all this "real ball physics" nonsense EA spouted) - there are obvious sweet spots that you can score 100% of the time with finesse shots, long pass trajectories make them too ineffective, defenders do ridiculous acrobatic clearances and get clean contact on the ball from simply mashing B to clear... The list of anti-football BS in FIFA 14 goes on and on.
Despite what EA would like you to think, it's just a roster update/minor gameplay tweak to an already poor FIFA 13.
It's a shame that it's so popular because it will continue to be churned out in it's current form and the pattern will most likely continue for next-gen too. Popularity doesn't equal quality... More people probably watch X-Factor than have watched The Wire.

WE2014 is not available for digital download on any PSN at the moment, as far as i know, not sure about Japan PSN as the game is not out.

Do the same. Did it in a ranked online match my opponent must have been fuming as I saved three 1 on 1'S. Shame it was still to laggy to continue playing online. Went back to the joys of offline. Until online plays like it does when my son and I play offline it's pointless

My bread and butter is usually Master League Offline for PES but I have to say that I'm enjoying the challenges of trying to win the "Big Four" as I see it, namely the 3 different areas Champions Leagues and the Europa League. All 3 have their own style and I'm enjoying playing in them with my fictional side as much as any previous Master League.
The gameplay rocks and its a really rewarding game.

Sorry but I find this to be a little bit extreme.
You've always been able to play in a variety of ways in all previous PES games. Different formations, playing styles, types and combinations of players, its always been in PES no matter what the version. Even if you've had to dig deep and wrestle with the game.
What you're talking about is PES DNA, down to the individuality, movement physics, tactical depth, which has remained in the series to a large degree whether people have liked the individual games or not. They were'nt perfect with noticeable flaws, but still had PES DNA.
People are entitled to like what they want, but you can understand how a fan of current-gen PES would feel hearing that this is a big change to everything, when it is actually a continuation of what they already enjoy

Can someone please explain to me what Attack/Defence level means? I mean how does it iterate into the game if I have a high number or a low number?

P.S To the people who are saying FIFA 14 is 'dreadful', it is a complete shocking thing to say. Let me tell you something, both games have there massive flaws, it is as simple as that. Both games have a different direction, one is trying to simulate realism, the other is trying to cater to casual mixed with realism. That's all it is.
The whole fanboy thing between the games is the most pathetic thing I have seen. Anyone who actively goes into the forum to just criticise the other game with baseless evidence because they just want to slag off the other game....I mean...there is sad...and then there is this.....
I tried Pro Evo for first time in a long time this year and I mentioned my disputes with it, a lot of them are being echoed by you lot as well. But I am trying to improve my experience with tinkering, hence my original question.
Normally I play one game for 6 months, then switch to the other. Best thing about football games, the amount of value you get for the price.

would like to know if the flaws of 2013 that stopped me playing it have been fixed or improved.
1 player switching
2 defensive AI at least the part where they dont run away from loose balls
3 gks where you cou;d score 100 times out of 100 in 1v1 situations.
4 invisible walls that pop up to stop your defender coming across for the ball.
5 online scripted matches
6 and last the complete bias towards real madrid of the last game.
the answers to the above depend on wether i buy the game or leave this years alone.
if buying it will be pc this year as the lack of editing and stadia on the console is another minus point!!!!!
