how strange as, no, i haven't yet done that. It was taking too long. Did you install the patch 1.01? Besides that I can't comprehended how your options are different!

I'm playing version 1.00 although it keeps asking me to download 1.01, but I don't know if I should or not:CONFUSE:

When I downloaded the game from the PSN it came with stadium and kit packs.

I downloaded the data pack straight off along with the rest of the digital bundle (3rd kits, stadiums) before I even played a match. Playing on 0 speed as well.

Probably doesn't make a difference, but I should also add that I'm playing the UK PSN version on a North American PS3...

Loving the Advanced Shooting by the way.

Started a Europa League with Galatasaray, I love Turkish teams, holiday in Turkey every year. Bombed out of the Copa, but learnt a lot.

Away to Zenit first game ... :CONFUSE:

All Presets done now though and Combination Plays chosen, with Schneider at the helm of the majority. Time to get tactical.

Oh, and 1-Bar and Zero are two different type of games, 1-Bar maybe more fun and pleasing to play, but Zero gives the mind of satisfaction that nothing else can produce. No matter how frustrating it can be at times through lack of concentration.

Okay this is weird, are you on PS3? I'm on 360, maybe the Xbox version doesn't have the alternative commentaries? I've tried it both with and without the patch now.

If that's the case then I'll be pissed, I really wanted to switch to Spanish commentary! Can't take much more of the awful English one!

Has Manual been toned down this year? I've tried it last couple of times and have never been able to wrap my head around it, was always massively underhitting or widly misdirecting passes. This year I can get it more or less where I want, might just be a consequence of a slower game?

Come to the conclusion that Basic is much more comfortable than Advanced. And I'm getting decent with attacking headers now, massive improvement over previous versions where crosses were always 100% accurate. Scored a powered header from a cross and it was really satisfying.

The playing styles look interesting. Brought in a 'Destroyer' into my ML team and he's currently tearing shit up in midfield.

I'm on PC and don't have options for owt else but English.

Danny, I respect your opinions but passing stats are huge on Zero. Coming from Atletico Miniero to Gala is a different world, passing technique and accuracy wise.

I'm dumbfounded you can't feel that, it also is bang on money theory wise. The ideology dictates that.

From two nil down Drogba just pulled us back with two powerful goals.

Game on !!

Advanced TB on Zero offers almost infinite freedom of expression. Just a tap of the two High Through Ball buttons with a relevant direction has been nailed. Animation is perfect as well. My favourite new addition, of many beauties.

Lets go Zenit !!

the AI is a little too good at chipping and lobbing the ball. Rush your keeper out against someone and you will get F****D

Been playing advanced whole time and feels just right, although i haven't actually tried 0-bar assistance as of yet, i really should do as 2-bar has annoyances and passes rarely go exactly where i want.

I'm coming round to the idea, still skeptical but anyway thats not what I was refering to in my last post.

What I actually meant by 'toned down' was, has it had more assistance added to it compared to previous years? My pass completion rate is still only in the low 70%s, but my passes more or less goes where I want it to go now.

As for Advanced TBs. As Klash said, they're suited for pulling off a risky weighted pass, but not if you want to play a standard ball into space. Ideally there'd be a modifier that you can use. As it is, I think basic manual is a decent enough balance.

Oh and have a go on Recoba when you get a chance. Undisputed flawed genius of the year 2014. :SMUG:

Played a few games tonight in Champions League and i have to say that i am complete pants at this game. :COAT:

But.....

I am really enjoying it. :BOP:

The reason i am pants is because i am playing on full manual everything, i keep reading that once you master full manual the game is better. I can pass fine in defence and midfield but when i'm attacking i mess up with the crucial pass. And shooting, don't even get me talking about my shooting. I keep hitting it to the left of the goal, one on one... left of the goal.

How long did it take you guys to master it on this and the other games? I really want to persevere with full manual everything because when i did score a couple of goals it was a fantastic feeling :APPLAUD:

I am really impressed with the AI opponents as well. They really take me by surprise with their attacking play. Sometimes whipping in balls from the half way line, or playing it across the penalty area, or playing those annoying through balls.

After just 3 games this is so far the best PES at the moment for me. I have been reading a lot of negative things on this thread but i have to agree with this quote earlier from BlueChampion.

Yes if you read the old threads on PES5 there is so much criticism and yet it is a classic game. I never used to read these threads before (i had never even heard of evo-web until a few years ago). And sometimes bad points are brought out that some of us may not have noticed before we read about them. So then we look out for them in the game. Which can cloud our view of it.

Anyway back to PES2014, can somebody please let me know how to install it on the PS3 HDD? It does lag slightly for me (but don't tell anyone :P)

PS Oh and commentating lasted just 2 games, got fed up with the reminders of how pants i am at shooting :P

Have you tried downward headers too? Press triangle (or y) just after evading the ball and he will do a lovely downward header into the ground, the type that go in by bouncing off the ground and into the roof of the net.

Using triangle for low shots is awesome, too.

By the way, are there any celebrations in this that don't involve the player sprinting to the corners? Getting real bored of seeing that over and over.

i just did a downward header with V. Persie that touched ground about one foot inside the line that bounced up to bulge the top of the net, during which I screamed "oh, downward header!"

ive got the game off psn and im absolutely loving it, best ive ever played and ive played all football games, not sure how some people are not seeing this but end of the day its their opinion and to be blunt im not bothered by it, im not one to go into silly details like shoe lace colour etc just enjoy it for what it is, its a beast of a game as far as im concerned :)
