For a better look on what to expect animations-wise and fluidity, skip to 9:30.

That bit is indeed impressive.

Looking at the vid a few times more, the only parts were animations didn't look so good (and the reason why I was initially pissed off) were the super-slowed down footage where animations look more rigid. Also, when Kei is talking about the added ball control area, I count at least 3 classic "PES stutters" on the player's animation.

The bits with normal speed footage actually looked good and fluid.

And about the collision system, I didn't see a single "body through body" moment. Where did you guys saw that?

Try to look at Fifa 13 or 14 animations in slow motion, they will look a bit clunky. It's the slow motion effect that show the different frames of animation. In real time speed it's actually greatly improved

When they showed the crowd, graphics is notably an improvement, very good improvement, you have to be blind to not notice the improvements, and the atmosphere just looks very nice as well and can be the best ever.

But collisions, a key part of realism in gameplay, really disappoineted me.

the bit at 7.45 looks really weird

This is the first time this gen, that PES looks really promising.

The collision system looks great, though there are some classic "pes stutters" like is said above.

what do you guys mean with PES stutter ?

Is when the animation skips frames, It goes from one animation to another without transition in between.

I see it with the blue player that moves in slow motion, but probably in normal speed, it isn't noticeable.

forgetting the extra details if you ask me what I saw from that video..I saw the same churned out animations again

can some one answer me this WHY OH FUCKING why do the players on PES these days have now control over their limbs? the arms flop about it looks so stupid, If I was a betting man I think they are done in all honesty..they get a new engine and it still resembles the old games so far how is that possible?!

listen lads im not one to bring negativity its just I hate the last few PES games and I have a bad feeling about this one

WOW ...look at the players hand..guess Satan is to blame then

Look at the very first "test-bed" footage, when Kei is explaining the player-ball distance stuff.

Oh i see them.. as a result sometimes movement of the foot is not natural/logical and body movement from bended position goes directly to straight as if something is skipped.

I thought that fifa's engine has been coping with it quite well.. but to me, i don't like the elasticity of it in the gameplay. I don't know if it is a trade-off in making believable animation and player model.

Have a look at fifa.

Really? OMG!
That was the ONE thing I wanted to see fixed the most.
Haven't been able to watch the video yet, cuz I'm at work. But I thought that the main improvement this year were going to be animations: LOTS of new animations and really smooth transitions.

I don't want to say I'm dissapointed until I see some ingame videos of actual matches, but I'm kind of starting to feel let down again.

pause at 7 seconds what the hell is the player on the far left doing?!

(ps masuda looks like satan)

I actually really like the idea of the 'heart' thing. It's something new and definitely exists in real football. If done right of course, but imagine some examples:

1. You've just scored an away goal to take the lead. It's silenced the fans, and the home team therefore loses some concentration.
2. You're losing and can't get into a home match, so you send your DMF into a massive sliding challenge, which draws a yellow but gets the crowd going, and the team get an energy boost.
3. You're winning late in a game and you opt to just keep the ball. The Ole's flow and the opposition lose their mental discipline.
4. You're 2 goals up with 10 left against a 'better' opponent, and they snag a goal. Your defence gets jittery, suddenly can't pass to anyone and it becomes a seige.

All of those things are totally possible in PES because of how important the stats are. Not even that hard to program.
