why are people underwhelmed? Konami arent going to give much away at a "pre-E3" interview. They will do the talking at E3, not before it xD

Thought it would be obvious.

At E3 we prove to the world the game has changed. Animations, collision system, ball physics etc. & if you're not there, sexy trailer for E3 "

haha he's been saying that every year since pes 2008

"pes 2008 is the best pes ever"
"pes 2009 is really the best pes ever"
" no wait i was wrong... pes 2010 is the best pes ever!"
"pes 2011 the king is back, best pes ever"
"pes 2012 last year was a blip... this year the king is back"
"pes 2013 guys wait til you see this years game...blahblahblah"

he really is the boy who cried wolf,i wont believe anything from him especially now he's on the konami payroll, i feel sorry for all his legions of worshippers who hang on his every word

With the little difference that now there's a whole brand new engine.

I'm actually quite surprised there hasn't been more comment and discussion on the fact it is simply FOX Engine and not "from/based on FOX Engine"

There is a brainchild, a pretty arrogant but very successful one that is behind FOX Engine in Kojima. I wonder if he needed convincing that his engine should be referred to by name in the way it is now by the PES Productions team. Add to this that by all current info available that PES2014 will be the first FOX Engine game to go on general release.

I wouldn't at all rule out that Kojima has perhaps been somewhat convinced by the quality of PES2014 on a purely technical level that he is now only too happy for the FOX Engine logo to be proudly displayed with regards to PES. It can only potentially help his own cause afterall if a game using "his" engine is meeting his own apparent high quality values. I mean, surely he wouldn't want FOX Engine being used to demonstrate an ugly, utterly unspectacular looking game.

Like I say, Kojima is very much the auteur, but also a very powerful figure within Konami. Wouldn't he therefore want something he is directly responsible for (FOX Engine) to look rather impressive when shown? He has shown himself to be very confident and not shy about talking up his tech.

Which of course will work perfectly first time out with no problems whatsoever. Like all new things do.

Hanging all your hopes on a new engine is stupid. The problems with PES go way beyond the engine. There are fundamental problems with the basics of the game such as the tired old Master League structure, the ridiculously unrealistic fixture list, the random form arrows, the broken transfer system, the fascination with crap like magic boots or penguin suits......blah blah blah and on and on and on.

All of you people who think this new engine will solve all of PES' problems are kidding themselves. The problems lie within Konami and it's staff. Until they are given the boot they so righteously deserve PES will never be back on top.

IMO. ;)

I don't think that anyone here, or even the development team themselves, are of the opinion that the engine itself solves all problems. It gives them the opportunity to but nothing is guaranteed beyond that, so I see no reason why there can't be a little optimism taking that one thing into account.

New engine means a new fresh start...they have other persons in charge, new ideas etc, etc.

There will be always problems, but at least they are trying to change.

Seems like we've been hearing about this "Fox Engine" in PES for simply ages now. Looking forward to finally seeing it in action.

So, let's assume this staff did solve all that you mentioned and proved you wrong. Does that mean you should righteously get the boot? ;)

New engine means 2-3 years until it is perfect, take EAs game from 2008 to 2011 as an example, hopefully im wrong and we get a brand new pes3 type of new game engine

Why take EA's example when we can use PES own example in PES 3? Hopefully :)

In a tweet Adam has said that Koami don't have cash as EA or Ubisoft to bring PES 2014 to the next consoles that were not released yet and, therefore, have no install base.

Do you guys think that the lack of cash is part of the reason why Konami don't travel to E3 with their staff ? Konami have also made one of th most embarrassing (and funny) E3 conference ever, I think this is also one of the reasons why they decided to not go there anymore lol
