I'm with you

if the graphics are the same, not so important.
I have seen several times the video, doll red and blue.

animations (most important at this time) are still rubbish.

not surprising at all, this is "pes 2013 FULLHD"

the graphics engine can be "fox" .. "unreal", "Frostbite" ..
the problem is not knowing how to use it properly

may not be so similar to previous versions. (12,13)
please be realistic

I want to clarify, I do not like "fifa"

well it is bye bye pes as the only football game available for the ps4 and xbox one(which i will both buy) will only be fifa so your little personal attack on me is pointless and foolish. Am i not allowed to have a negative opinion on things i see on this site.... this is not communist wenb where the party line is "pes is the king blah blah blah"
I havent bought a pes since pes2011, its a very sad state of affairs for konami when pes3,5 and 6 which are ancient by todays standards STILL play a better game of football than anything currently doing the rounds, just off the top of my head i can name a lot of stuff those older games have that this gens pes doesnt.......................................
...............................................................................

Fact is this is the best year to be a pes fan so hating gets u nowhere.

+ 1

wheres the hating, im just stating the FACTS, i think youll find the best year to be a pes fan was 2006:SMUG:

Facts are pro evo 14 will be a game everyone will will be playing.

Facts are pro evo will have the best animations a football game has ever seen they might not satisfy you but they will be the best.

Facts are Ea have shafted this gen users, Konami are looking out for them.

Facts are You are hating for the sake of it Fifa 14 pc xbox ps3 trailer has been released http://youtu.be/APMrtUd4WW8 Yea a pile of horse shit why not go hate there.

Fact is This is the best year to be a pes fan gone are the days of old tec and in are the days of bright futures.:BYE:

My main concern is that the player seems to knock the ball without his foot actually coming into contact with it. It would suggest that the ball is just tied into animations rather than a proper physics engine. Disappointed if that's the case.

None of those are facts, but you knew that already.

Probably true. It could probably be done in a fair way using mentality stats and such like, but it will probably just turn out like FIFA's 45th/90th minute goal scripts or when the momentum scripts kick in.

The thing is though - how will they implement scripting? If it's giving players a boost or cut in certain stats then it could be fine. But if it's like FIFA where your players don't respond to button presses or part the defence like the red sea then it could be bad.

Well I was disappointed because I'm positive someone in the know said there was a gameplay trailer confirmed for today. Now I've woken up and had my coffee I don't care as much lol.

Re-watched the skill move section a few times to see how the barycentre physics will work. Looks interesting and seemingly intuitive with right stick for body weight and left stick to change direction.

If all the crowd shots were in game then wow. Will actually feel like a big game day atmosphere seeing all that happening in the background.

Still many things to see though...I'd love to be able to pick stadiums and day/night conditions for competitions as well as exhibition games.

Absolutely.

I'm always a bit uneasy about the sort of thing. Good in theory but requires really good implementation. As someone said earlier on if it leads to randomising form during a game it could be really frustrating as the human player will not necessarily get the link between the "Heart" features kicking in and why his player suddenly cannot hit a barn door with a banjo.

*programmer mode on* This happens because the collision mask is bigger than the mesh of the test-bed model. *programmer mode off*

If you look carefully you can see stuff like the ball rolling down a player's leg or reacting realistically to tiny touches, the kind of stuff that never happened before. Fox Engine clearly has a built-in physics engine.

Also, you can't really control/dribble a ball with just pure physics, because in a preset animation your feet/body wouldn't always be in the perfect position to kick the ball where you wanted it at all times, you'd end up knocking it all over the place like a drunk man

Yes the test environment looks worse than I assume it will actually be. If you check out the video where the player does a little shimmy dance and then skips past the defender, he is clearly making contact with the ball.

I just hope they get the Audio aspect of the crowd right. Not much of a point having a great looking crowd with no audio to back it up.

I agree on the crowds bit! They had that nice "tink" last year when a ball hit the adboards but I'd also like to see a better sound when you really whack the ball, hit the bar or there's a great point blank save for example. Even the thud of a solid tackle or collision. But that's the extra's. Crowd audio and even the referee's whistle should have more than 1 preset. Any kind of variety would be excellent :P

I wonder what the E3 trailer will be showing off exactly...

I hope they give us those frequent tutorial video's like last year but on the new weight shifting, free kick and penalty systems.

Hi Rafa Benitez

Fact is you seem to have all the facts considering we haven't properly seen pes 14 or played it yet...

I'll defer to your greater knowledge of programming; and I'll simply hope that you're correct.

I don't quite understand why release these test-bed videos in the first place. I'd rather see more of the stuff at 9:30 onwards.

It's the engine, like the teaser one.
We must stop thinking that because looks good can't be true. ;)

We've got so used to expecting the worst haven't we?

a nice pitch texture would be very much needed, fifa and pes pitches have been shite throughout this generation, fifa wc2010 being the best one.

no one has played nearly the final version of either game so what is the point of comparing the collision systems, maybe they are comparing current build PES with FIFA 13 or 60%-70% build FIFA 14. The fact is until the final version is in our hands we will not know which one is better..Its pointless a discussion..Sure PES will be better than last year with its new engine but thats not really hard, FIFA 14 is also sounding good too with one reviewer complaining he cant charge through midfield and has to stop and think about tactics.

You expect more? Collision system on impact engine in Fifa 13 looks ice. It's means something wrong with Pes 2014 because will use very similar one? Oh no..

The collision system in FIFA is full of crap. What I saw in this pre-E3 trailer already beats the failed Player Impact Engine of FIFA by a fair margin (for instance there was NO clipping and player bodies reacted in natural way at what is happening to their body). Something FIFA doesn't account for.

Keeping my thumbs up for KONAMI this year. EA can eat their own shit for all I care...
