this video strongly resembles pes 2013

You must be high. Look at passing fluidity. It's way better than in any PES title released, ever! There is no stop motion while receiving the ball, it goes very smooth.

I can say, I am really impressed now. Hated that 1s pause before receiving the ball in previous PES, it broke fluidity and goal scoring opportunities. Of course you also found yourself on offside position too much due to stutter...

From that short video, I can see PES 2014 vastly improved over PES2013. Plus those animations (Alaba and Marchisio jumping for ball) look awesome :D (och yeah unlike FIFA, Marchisio did jump higher than Alaba :P - in FIFA Xavi wins the header against defender who is 190cm tall... No questions).

totally agree

and im not sure why defensive awareness is being inferred to be of causal relevance to pass assistance? they are quite separate problems, maybe more troublesome when coupled together, but still quite separate in source

According to the PES 13 info the ball, when using passing assistance, "homes in onto the receiving player" with passing assistance on the higher levels it does that even more. The problem is that this also decreases the defence and response stats of the defending players, which is why we sometimes can't challenge in the physics department (shoulder to shoulder) or even more frustrating the ball just goes through our player.

This "homing in" needs to dissapear from PES.

Is it me or have they gotten rid of or at least reduced the usual forward run of players after making a pass ?

Mr Caniggia. Good to see you here again pal,

That video looked good, but it looks kinda slow..

Slow?!are you insane :CONFUSE:.To be honest it seems that Konami is going the arcade route after e3 feedback and increase the speed of the game .

After seen this video, I think my social life is going down to drain.:WORSHIP: What a game has become, it seems to look the real life.

Now the last thing to give the bow to the package is the editor; and here a woodoo doll is needed.:BAND:

Those GIF anims look great but Chiellini's run looks like a monkey running with those little jumps... :/

On the Alaba header, you can see Marchisio shorts moving as he moves. Not sure if i've seen that before.

I can't really tell much from videos, except regarding animations. If it's indeed a quantum leap from PES 2013 depends on control-possibilities and AI, both can't be really seen in videos, we have to play it.

In PES 2013 what gets on my nerves after a few minutes is the limited control I have over my players, there is a sort of indirectness in the control-mechanism that probably is linked to the limitedness of the animation-engine. A

And then there is the off the ball-limitations where I can't get players to move in angles I want, where I feel I have no control at all, except if I use supercancel which brings its own problems.

So I have high hopes that with the new engine there will be a whole new level of freedom and control-possibilities, but these can't be felt by watching videos, I have to play it.

Same goes for AI, in PES 2013 the AI is so limited both for my teamplayers and for the CPU, that the game uses huge scripting to get things along. Sure scripting will probably be always necessary, at least until it's possible to simulate 21 independent football-brains on the pitch.

But the scripting in PES 2013 is frustrating, because it's so obvious and because the CPU makes goals out of thin air: You can control a match and play nice football and have 70%+possession and then the game decides it's time for the CPU to make a goal, because on paper they are the better team. And then scripting draws back your defenders and the CPU makes a nice combination-play and the ball is in the net, with nearly no opportunity to stop it.

It would have been much more credible if the CPU were increasing the ball-possession, tried a few goal-attempts and then got successful down the road. But no, they do nothing before the goal, have no possession and the one attempt at making goal is directly successful.

And on the other side, you who has all the possession played really good and had many attempts at making a goal, don't get the success of scoring, because it's not allowed for a weak team to score against a better team. And the lenght the game goes to stop you from scoring begs belief: Whenever I want to shoot, out of nowhere a defender jumps into the route of the ball, to the extent, that I think that the game reads inputs and decides what to do against it before the animation shows my player doing something...

But regarding the animations that can be seen in that video, that is the sort of animation I expected when Konami announced PES 2011. Finally we get the animation Konami promised for PES 2011... better late than never.
