It depends on what you want, i play FIFA on manual and then dropping back to semi is impossible as you cant put the ball into space..stats do need to play a part definitely but not so much as it closes the field up and open space is ignored.

But we're talking about PES here. I play on one bar pass assist which gives me freedom to play the ball into space without making passing slow and cumbersome. I can weight the ball and play it ahead of or behind a player if I want to. The manual modifier is there for 100% control but I find I hardly use it.

The argument about who good on a joypad is not really valid as the majority of time an average player on assisted playing with Torquay will always beat an average manual player playing as Barcelona

It is valid in the context of two manual players playing one another. That kind of experience is not for me as I feel as though my inputs override the ability of the player I'm controlling, the game then becoming all about my inputs and not the key abilities of the players under my control.

Your point about Barca vs Torquay actually makes the case for a single control system all the more compelling.

So if you play with barca and with south Africa your passing is the same?!
Pretty much, yes. As Danny said, the speed of the pass is reduced but the accuracy is pretty much identical.

The speed, strength, finishing, crossing and positioning of the players is worse, which results in the obvious disparity in the defensive and offensive performance when using those two sides, but the passing error is very similar.

I haven't even bothered with PES 2013's MLO for pretty much that reason - there's no real incentive to try and build a team and gameplan around a midfield maestro - on 2011 I had D'Alessandro and Djemsav who could dictate the play with their passing ability, whereas the other players would just gift the ball away when trying the same pass, so I would actively try to set up my tactics and decisions on the pitch to get them into dangerous positions. That sort of thinking just isn't required in 2013.

yepp...there are some smartheads finally in PES's department...but NOW PLEASE THE EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS TOO with something!!!

Champions league ? :JAY:

Anyway, it's very nice move by Konami to appreciate their fans in Asia :))

I just can't think of no more than more freedom in fake leagues customisation and its integration to take away the license restriction in european league, hint : BPL.

Is that right? I thought you had 120 seconds in total but still only a maximum of 3 pauses.
Maybe I am wrong - haven't been on in a few weeks but I can't remember noticing running into that limit before and I do remember some idiot opponents pausing then resuming instantly on every dead ball situation. Next time I'm online I'll test it out.

I expect typical Konami trolling act: AFC Champions League in Pes 2014 but no J. League, restricted to WE jap as usual.

Seriously mate stop trolling.

:D He just annoyed by the writings of lons_pl .I too hate people like to suggest something, say it like it's fact, like they know something more and special .
It is reasonable to assume that sooner or later, perhaps, Konami is likely to put j-league in PES, not like DLC or a other game .. BUT apart from KONAMI Nobody knows! Every year same story ... pff ...

Is it me or there's a surprising lack of news?.

I've always thought that from the moment they release the first batch of news, they sould start dropping 10 screenshots and 1 short videos every 2 weeks. Unless they aren't confident enough with their product.

It's not a problem but it becomes one when it's constantly repeated a million times.

Think they're playing it differently this time.

Not really, the official announcement last year was on the 24th of April. Rumours say "something" is happening next week, which seems about right.

And they may or may not want to spill all their beans, since there's a slight chance EA are waiting for PES 2014 to show itself to decide whether or not they should accelerate their work on their own new engine.

But even if that was true, FIFA wouldnt be getting a new engine until FIFA 15... that doesn't make much sense to me.

You can't possibly know that. For all we know they may have it on standby for next-gen consoles but ready to push the release button for all platforms if PES 2014 justifies such a decision.

Not a chance sorry don't agree mate. Take part in leagues online and we have a player manager mode so we have built up squads. The value of a good passer is immeasurable and we all play on 0 pass assist.

Shooting is the same. Whilst it is 0 assisted the stats still dictate the pace of the ball the abuility of a player to positiom himself and the amount of time required to shoot is vastlY different when you compare for example Cisse and Mphela.

Just to be sure I am talking about 0 pass and shoot assist?!
Yep, I'm talking about 0 pass assist.

I know shooting differs between players, even with full assists you can very much tell the difference between players but the passing is another story.

I'll put it fairly bluntly here - one of us is wrong. It's not to do with opinions here because the passing error can be measured... Go to free training mode, get a good passer on the ball and aim directly up (away from the camera). Do it again with a poor passer... The difference is negligible.
You can turn on some CPU opponents and do it whilst under pressure to test how that affects it... Again very similar/identical. Repeat until you're convinced you have fair results.

Good passers being valuable in your league may be because most players who are good at passing are also very comfortable on the ball with a good first touch which is quite noticeable and useful in PES 2013.
