for the first time in seven years, pes finally impressed me with a trailer. fox engine is really looking promising. please don't disappoint me this time, konami, please!

Konami have basically totally ballsed up this gens console versions of PES.
This looks a 100% better than anything we have seen since the first generation of Consoles.

My only fear is that they have worked so hard in getting the game right - and were totally right to do so - that the ML hasnt had the over haul it so needs.

There are so many things wrong with the ML in its current form with silly things like games on Xmas Day & Internationals on a Friday and you play on the Sat.
To the crazy things like players wanting £500k a week, players never cup tied, certain loan signings that are already at your team - the loan never expires.

They really need to look at stuff like that but I reckon they have run out of time.

Shopto have this game scheduled for Sept 20th release.

See, that's the No.1 problem with PES for me; the ML lags so far behind Fifa's CM both in depth, and in realism. I'm an offline player - I don't care about online - so the game's Career Mode, whatever that happens to be called, needs to keep me interested. PES 14's football sounds amazing; good enough to lose yourself in but I'm worried that once again, the 'Master League' will hold the game back. Why don't they just chuck the whole mode and start again, and give it a new name as well? Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that 'Master League' sounds a bit... arcadey?

And the infuriating thing is that Fifa 14 CG seems to be improving the CM in ways that it really needs, but I have no inclination to play Fifa 13 for another year, CM improvements or not. A year is a long time to play one particular game, and right now the game looks to be completely recycled as far as on the pitch is concerned. PES 14 on the other hand looks to be a breath of fresh air off the pitch; let's see what Konami bring to the table regarding the 'Master League'.

Edit: Can't argue with you about ballsing up this gen's PES games - Fifa has been consistently better in my opinion - but I sense a turning of the tide...

The best thing I found about the new trailer is the talk about a new defensive adjustment. Defensive shapes in PES13 look amateurish, hope this helps somehow.

On the other hand, the presence of the Team Slider system is still early to be judged. It failed in previous PES because the AI was unable to interpretate the real intention behind a gameplan. By the Bayern vs Bayern video, we can observe how the AI passing routines are improved. I hope this new AI can adapt to different distances between teammates, and deduct the proper plan of action.

It was already stated that Master League would be getting some important changes, both offline and online.

Good to hear; can't wait to see what they add. Even if they can't physically add league slots to the ML (which I don't believe for a second) if they were to make the mode more realistic and closer to Fifa's CM mode (anything approaching Football Manager would be too much to ask), then I reckon the mode would keep most people happy. To start off with, there has to be hiring/firing of managers; whoever heard of a club retaining a manager when he does a terrible job year upon year (if that's the level the player's at)? ;)

Some of the best animations i've ever seen in a football game:WORSHIP:...

Another thing the game needs are violent, yet perfectly normal situations, like 50/50 balls where players "give their lives", or aereal balls with real physicality. It's gret to have this MASS thing implemented, but what we've seen so far looks too clean and fair play, like when I play in real life with my friends.
I'm not saying players have to have bad intentions. I'm just saying that some situations are disputed with more intensity than what Konami recreates.

Agreed, this "emotion" thing for the crowds should be deeply implemented on players to intensify moments on the pitch, would be great.

Agreed. I also want to see players pushing and shoving each other around after a bad tackle. It happens in real life Konami - the kids see it in real football so it won't make a blind bit of difference if it's in PES/Fifa.

I hope will support xp.
I am too lazy to upgrade my pc

Really? How lazy can you be that you can't get off your backside and either bring the PC to a shop who will do the work for you, or fit a few components yourself?

PS: XP is a p.o.s compared to Win 7. Add to that the fact that most games will stop supporting XP before too long, if it hasn't already started happening. Time to haul your backside off the couch and upgrade...

Just a curiosity since I don't regularly watch the EPL. How many players can you have on the bench?
In Serie A you are no longer limited to 7 players. It's something small and stupid but it would be good if we could have more than 7 subs depending on the league.

Seacht.

nice! thanks. this feature looks great.

though i hope you can adjust how often your 'plays' occur.

for example, you set up to have that move above play out ^, but then you can choose 'rarely, normal, often' -- i mean it 'd be kinda dumb if everytime that midfielder touched the ball robben bombed forward like that

They are nice.

But there is something just not right there, the upper body looks a bit too loose imo. Especially the two top gifs. I think its just the arms? I'm not sure.

The top right where he goes to get the ball after flicking it around, its like he is about to fall over, his arms go all flaily and his body is awkward.

The top left, the move looks laboured and not very natural.

The Robben one is nice, although his arms look really long, like a Gibbon.

But overall they look good and it will be great to see some more footage.

Your comments are not welcome here BobbyFifaFanbox!

Unless you decide to play the good football version this year, and i mean PES, of course. :SMUG:

Everything you described there about Robben's animation is how he looks in real life. For lack of a better description his muscles seem spastic when he runs.

Question:

Why do you think ex Pes players converted to Fifa in 2008 and why do you think Fifa gamers bored of Fifa are reluctant to convert to Pes?

Because of modes,gameplay? Or both?

I think ex PESers jumped to Fifa because it showed next-gen qualities while PES showed none.

He's right. I swapped over to FIFA when PES 2008 came out, and stayed playing FIFA until i got PES 2011.

During this time, PES was old, poorly developed, and, y'know, shit.
