PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Can any of you guys remember the thread where some guy had managed to fix the low score problems in ML? I'm trying out an ML as Sparta Rotterdam in ML and every game finishes 1-0 0-0 or 0-1, its damn stupid, all the CPU results, there is a team on 13 points at the top of the league, won 4 drawn 1, goals scored 4 goals conceded 0

its so unrealistic and bullshit, I hate it, I remember their being a thread where some guy made some adjustments to fix this problem? but I cant find it anymore :(

but this is really complicated stuff (for me anyway)

That's another gripe. For some reason, CPU results in Competitions is different

I hadn't played this game for months on end before today, I tried demo 2 and really enjoyed it, so I popped it into my console and gave it another try. Wish I hadn't. It's an atrocious game.

I played some ML games from an old save long since abandoned, did a couple of league games with PSG and all their superstar players. Compared to the demo it was awful. Where's all the off the ball player movement? Both games I ended up strafing up and down the width of the pitch looking for someone to pass to while they all just stood there miles away not moving. Both games, every time.

Then came a Champions League fixture v Milan. The cheating was incredible, so blatant that I didn't actually feel in control of my players. The opposition were stronger, moving to every ball whereas I couldn't make a single player move to the ball. For a ten minute period I counted the ball deflected loose and fell to a Milan player sixteen times in a row, culminating in a cross that my keeper palmed into his own net for no reason whatsoever. After that the AI settled down and went back to normal, and I spent 70 minutes strafing up and down with static players trying to beat a magical goalkeeper who could bend physics.

Just three games reminded me how broken single player is, but I'm shocked at how poor it played compared to the demos.

You should leave yourself a note and leave it inside the case that goes something like this;

"Future me, if I'm reading this it means I'm considering playing PES 2013 again. For the sake of my sanity, don't do it - I've had enough experience with this game to know that it always ends in anger and frustration.
Proceed with caution, I've been warned..."

i know how you feel.
I have not played it for nearly month or more, the demos blind the actual game.
i have played matches where no matter what, my forward players refuse to make a run forward. its as tho the game is determined for me not to score.
sometimes, i might even get my player through on goal but my player refuses to shoot. even when i press the shoot button 3 times.its as if the game is playing out a pre determined match.
but for me, the worst thing in the game is the piss poor player switching, its so random its unbelieveable and the stupid AI of your team mates running away from loose balls, now that is a joke.
just do not bother with the game, i have gone back to pes 6 and goalgerds patch, thats in the days when konami knew how to do a football game.

here is hoping pes 2014 delivers, but i won't be holding my breath.
and, whats the point of demos if the final product is changed, as in the last few years and for the worse there is no point.

Well I hear you on that, to be fair I only played a couple of matches for the first time in months (full version, not including demo 2) but yeah I was really shocked at how different it feels compared to the demo. It's like they've added something in the code (for the retail version) that makes the AI far more aggressive and strong, meaning those cool little bits of skill I was pulling off in the demo just couldn't be done in the final version, certainly in ML mode.

Three things though that bug the crap out of me in the retail version, and have stopped me playing it, are firstly that team-mate off the ball movement seems much more static, secondly that I have at least half a dozen instances per match where my player nearest the ball won't go and collect it because of switching issues, and lastly, that a loose ball in the game falls for the COM player probably 95% of the time. Be it deflections, rebounds, whatever. I think it's because the COM actually moves to the ball wheras my players just stand there, but it's maddening. Even if you have three players in close proximity to the ball it'll rebound perfectly to the one COM player every time.

I'm so ready for a new PES game / engine.

No, still the old demo is better argunment

Do you want to play a demo match in Pes 2013 full game? Play exhibition

Master League and Competition matches have cheating, scripting to make the game more difficult, but it also becomes more frustrating.

Exhibition instead has no cheating, no scripting

I think that the increased difficulty in ML has a lot to do with the form arrows. In their present state I wish you could have the option of disabling them or something. Exhibition games are best with both teams on bog standard green arrows. I don't know if anyone's noticed but the COM form arrows in ML are nearly always red and yellow,no matter who you are playing, and I think I this has a huge affect on how the game plays in terms of cheating. It's a basic tool for modern games to use, but those red form arrows kinda see the ball 'sucked' towards them in a poor attempt at replicating form. Hence rebound sect always falling for the COM.

Oh, and I forgot how moronic the transfer system was in this game. Playing as PSG, I had a huge kitty of £120 million. I wanted to buy several players but got rejected with no reason given. Now, if I have so much money, I really ought to be able to bid silly money if I want and at least see the other club recognising it's an offer they can't refuse and begrudgingly accept. Not here though, because you can't set the amount you want to bid.

Singleplayer in competitive matches is imho completely broken in PES 2013, it's full of cheats and scripted actions. I've seen literally the game pulling away my defenders that were under my control, just so the CPU attacker could get the ball or shoot well...

And the CPU attackers often get a considerable energy-push that lets them outrun my defenders and the attackers often make good runs and try to stay onside cleverly, while my attackers are complete morons that either do nothing or are always running into offside and stay there a long time.

It's not fun because of it, I guess exhibition games is the only way to have some fun.

Does anyone have a link for an Option File for PS3 that is compatible with the lastest updates and Data Packs etc, please ?

I'm not bothered about having Championship Teams, but the German League would be nice.

I'm sick of looking to play Random Teams and finding team squads with players named 'duplicate'....... :(

I play BAL pretty much exclusively now. I love it. Playing at Ajax, trying to get into Liverpool. Soon I will have enough money to get an agent who can get me there.

I'm amazed you guys can play BAL, its frustrating, having to double tap L2 (or is it R2? cant remember off the top of my head) to receive the ball, the AI are really crap at passing the ball too. and I hate having to sit there for ages waiting for the game to finish if I get subbed, sohuld be able to just skip to the end.

It'a bit annoying at first, when your player is shit and you still have to carry your team, but the AI is miles ahead of the last games when it comes to passing, and when you get to a decent team you can link up absolute beauties with your teammates

Are you holding down the pass button when defending?

Have your defenders run into space between the ball and the goal instead of at the player

i know what henrys hand means.
its not the players he is controlling, its the players under AI control that the game constantly moves them out of the way from the ball. i have had players literally back away or run away from the damn ball, its so fustrating.
why would a player run away from the ball in his own penalty area? surely he would attempt to clear the damn thing. in real life anyway.
apart from this and the player switching and the many other issues with the game i have stopped playing it, its laughable at times.

Try playing with Unassisted player switching. I find my team mates react better and faster to interceptions and loose balls.

The drawback is it feels like the AI is playing half the game for me.

Anyone gotten used to the AI even with scripting to the point where i'm not sure if there is scripting?

I'm playing at superstar difficulty, on my fifth year with Leeds United on master league; with Jenkeys mod only changing ball speed to very low levels, increased shot power and goalkeeper reactions; the rest i left unticked.

I've at the point where i hardly concede goals; i only concede goals to crosses, and rebounds; and even those are really rare; i've also had many games where the AI had zero shots at half time; i'm not even much of a possession whore, my average possession is 55%. There is scripting though, its evident when i can't for my life score no matter how many opportunities i have.

This is so different from many months ago, where i can't even face professional difficulty with much success, and i blamed scripting for that.

It might be your tactics/players and where you're shooting from.

That does happen, a lot, but for ultimate frustration try playing a later stage Champions League match in a ML campaign on Top Player or higher. The game can momentarily move the player you're controlling out of the way of the attacker like an invisible barrier appears between them, only for a few feet, but enough to give the COM space to shoot. And if that fails, the COM just travels through your player's body. Aguero once scored two goals that knocked me out of the CL by passing through my defenders's body and clipping the ball over my keeper. Lovely.

I was playing as Bale and went to do a Marseille Turn and he ended up doing one I have never seen before. It was more like the Ribery turn, but it was different to that.

I'm not sure if the actual input was a full circle, as after I tried it again after doing it 3 times, he did the standard Marseille Turn.

So, now that there's the Ribery turn + this one along with the Marseille Turn, how do you know which player has which one?
