PES 2013 Discussion Thread

I dunno, I'm taking all this stuff with a truck load of salt. There's so much for Konami to do - game physics, COM AI, and yeah, it needs a drastic aesthetic overhaul. The atmosphere in current PES games is so dreary it demotivated me from playing it.

As for the intention for the new engine to be photorealistic, I hope they mean in terms of lighting too. I hate it when we annually get screenshots of how great player faces look up close, only to play the game panned out and see awful lighting and murky, blurry textures. To compete, sure the gameplay needs to go to the next level but it has to better FIFA in aesthetic terms - which can't actually be too hard to pull off, as I think FIFA, graphically speaking, looks dreadful.

From what i remember is that Seabass has been working on this for two years, he skipped 2013 and left one of his deputies in charge so that he could work on pes 2014, i really hope we see the brilliance

I'm pretty sure that most of the things you mention in your lists won't be included in PES 2014. I reckon Konami will try to build a solid ground from which they can work their way up and start adding the little details we all loved from PES golden days such as dity kits and implement new features like dynamic weather. Don't expect to see that right away in PES 2014.

I insist, what we will get from the upcoming version are, probably, some solid ball physics, some smooth and nicely achieved animations (not a lot of different ones though), and little more. Maybe pick up where they left off in PES 2013 but taking it to the new engine.

Baby steps but in the right directions. Quality over quantity.

That's just what I think though.

The good thing is, that its gonna be a completely new game; sure there will be new bugs and glitches, but at least we won't have put up with the old ones anymore. The only thing i want to hear from this new engine is a completely new or heavily modified control scheme. This already tells me that i'm gonna have to learn how to play football games again, and for once, it will actually be new and exciting. There is something about current football games that feels very limited. The same recycled gameplay have been used over football games since the PS2 days, while only improving and polishing the same formula after each installment. Heres hoping it would change next gen.

edit file dt04.img xbox360

Good morning I am a new user and I'm venturing in editing pes.
Lacking a hard drive in my XBOX360 I decided to edit the file "dt04.img."
I have a problem to edit the file "unmamed_77.bin"
practically opening the file with "pes img explorer" and importanto new emblems I do not make the change. why?

SOLUTION ? HELP ME
THANK'S

P.S.
I wanted to post a new thread in the xbox but do not know why not let me

Personally I use an option file with my 360 version (not possible without hard drive though of course) so I don't know what to suggest to you myself, and I haven't seen anyone on here mention editing the actual game's files so I'm not sure if help will be forthcoming, but hopefully someone will have an idea.

I did several tests with the file edit.bin adding emblems but not all are loaded. then I have a big problem if I want to change the emblems of the championship only one open slot I have. why?

Anyone fancy a few matches online this week? (PC)

Preferably midranged team selections but not too fussed. I'm out of work now so can play whenever.

Really enjoying pes13.......when it dont cheat.
Sometimes you know you will lose before it starts.
Also I can't stop conceding the goal where my entire defence goes goes missing, they punt a ball down the middle and have 60 yards to run into and smash the ball in.
So annoying.

Maybe it's because i'm playing on professional difficulty, or because i found a good tactics, or maybe because i know the way cpu attacks, but i haven't found one single game where i felt cheated in months while playing Master League.

In my opinion Pes 2013 cheating is far far less than it was in super scripted pes 2012.

Anyone interested, Pes 2013 is now on steam

http://store.steampowered.com/app/221430/

That's good news both for buyers and for PES. Personally I'm all about digital delivery of games these days - only a year ago I was dead against it, mainly due to the scandalous prices of downloadable games on XBL and PSN. Steam has shown how it should be done. Obviously PC games are cheaper to start with but the Steam sales are awesome. Should PES2014 hit Steam too, it's almost certain it will be in a sale within a couple of months, potentially bringing in new players on the fence about PES.

It's also great advertising for PES.

Yup, on the exact same boat as i always loved the physical copy. More recently xbox/playstation have been putting digital titles on sale at good prices, not quite on steam level but progress never the less. Thing is that worries me is when consoles move into all digital, they will determine prices that everyone will have to pay (assuming you won't be able to buy from a third party). Thus i think will have an endangering affect the console gaming.

But back to pes, i would have bought pes on steam easily if i didn't have it already, it will slowly push pes back to mainstream and i hope they continue releasing on steam.

Well, if buying digitally is the way forward, you should still be able to buy from a third-party like a games retailer as they come with a CD key that you can then enter in on the steam/origin or whatever software, so I dont think the issue with pricing will become a big problem.

It's great news that PES is now on Steam, that should have been the case years ago!

can somebody answer why are we having scripted matches online?
its a complete and utter joke.
along with pisspoor ai of your team mates when you have not got the ball.
terrible player switching
stupid gks on 1v1s that stand at such an angle when a forward runs across them, that its impossible to miss.
and invisible walls that pop up to stop your player coming across for the ball joke.
theres alot to fix for pes2014. they need to start with the friggin basics!!!!

Haven't posted here in a while.

I've recently got into PES 2013 (PC) and I must say I'm very impressed. Of course it looks terrible but there's a good amount of depth to the gameplay it seems. A huge thing I like is that it seems to promote defensive astuteness over gun-ho attack. It reminds me of the evolution from that old Chestnut PES 5 (which has become slightly outdated I feel). I know it's very limited and that is really going to piss some people off but I think that's a good thing. Too much freedom has become a downfall of football games lately. At least this year they've got the balance between being in control and limiting the player. You need to be aware at all times, and plan ahead. It's all very tactical and rewarding.

I find playing with National teams makes the game feel better. The game seems to play like a hybrid between The Champions League and International Football. It's definitely not like Premier League football. The game does not have enough physicality so yeah I can still see why a lot of people prefer its competitor in that respect.

Can't say I have any incentive to play Master League so I'm doing World Cups over and over. They ruined it when they tried to make it too realistic despite having so few leagues from which to work with. I still find it so weird they haven't got a mix and match system because that was one of the most interesting things PES used to have.

I hope with the new engine they keep the same mentality that they've produced in this game.

nothing in there :(
The link was missing a character, this one will work:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_(software)

Basically Steam is a great program for PC where you can buy games, add friends and use an interface in-game to chat and use a web browser from within a game. You can also use "Big Picture" mode to turn the home screen into a console-like dashboard and the "Workshop" section has loads of mods, maps and addons for various games.

The sales they have on are incredible... you can end up getting top quality games for about £5 sometimes (I got Portal 1 and 2 for £6...).

Agreed there's a lot to like in PES 2013 patch 1.03, but there's one thing that really pisses me off and that is when the cheating or scripting or whatever you want to call it kicks in.

I know that on this gen the AI is far from ready to provide a challenge that is genuine and without the help of cheating, scripting and cheating there would be no challenge in the game.

But what gets on my nerves is the blatant obviousness of it. It's simply not designed nor masked well. When you see how your players you have the cursor on turn into the exact opposite of what you press or when you see the attacking opponent walking, running with the ball in a straight line and you simply can't touch the ball with the defender as if the ball magically belongs to that attacker... and when you unexpectedly are able to stop an attack by stealing a ball (because it jumped a bit from him) and then you see one of your own players run into you, making you stumble and then you see the loose ball magically make a u-turn to get back to that attacking player you got the ball from before (and of course the next move of his leads to a goal)...

then something is clearly amiss.

Do you want to get rid of cheating? I suggest you to play on 0 bar assistance and professional difficulty. Most important thing though is to play pes 2013 relaxed, not costantly pressing R1 or X button.
In defense don't play pressing X, that's what attacking CPU wants, because it's too easy to lose control of your defender pressing their attacker, thus leaving open space to counterattack.
While attacking instead play balancing passing and speed, especially use the slow run with the ball, it works very good, makes your attackers more responsive, it's useful to dribble and many times CPU defenders are forced to make foul to stop you.

I know all that, I'm pretty good at playing PES 2013 and I like it, it's just that the cheating is not designed and masked well that gets on my nerves.

Playing on professional has less cheating but I find it a bit too easy for my taste.
