Dont know why you are all still playing it.
Isnt gaming meant to be fun??
Merry Chrsitmas everyone
Gonna have to go against the status quo here and say I'm not seeing ANY changes whatsoever in patch 1.03.
Its the first patch I can remember from Konami where they have actually detailed game play tweaks and not left it to peoples imaginations and placebo's to dream up changes, so was expecting to see some hard evidence, but i dont, at all.
Konami actually stated that they have tweaked form, well bollocks. I am STILL seeing ridiculous swings in form arrows for players, Bancé my CF scored 5 goals in an 8-1 drubbing of Everton, then next match, purple arrow.
Europa League game, needed a win to go through as group winners, on the back of 4 straight wins in the premier league, suddenly 8 of my starting 11 are blue or purple arrows.... nothing has changed here at all.
Cant really comment on improved player runs and positioning as I didnt have any problem with this before the patch, players still arent as active as they should be ie, a CF looing to hang off the last defenders heels, arching runs, stopping, checking, dropping back for a pass, this is all still missing, was before patch and is after patch.
Gfx look exactly the same, in fact i really am wondering if patch 1.03 was a placebo experiment by Konami because one of the key changes as documented, form, simply hasn't changed.
Now if you have to start a new ML for these patch changes to kick in then to me that is the most non-sensical decision ever because over 3 months after the game has released and 9 seasons into ML, with dozens and dozens of hours of invested game play, I am NOT going to be starting over just to use a patch.
Still loving My ML and the game in general but was seriously excited for this patch, but for me nothing has changed at all.
How do you set offense defensive setting?
Well, you know where you set up the team's formations and tactics, there at the bottom you can go to the right until you find something called "Tactical help settings" or something like that. Inside of it you will find possibilities to set offside-trap on/off and other stuff...
and the last setting there is offensive/defensive-setting... usually it's on "no preference", just set it on defensive and you're done.
Is it just me not being able to execute certain step-overs and feints or is there anybody else out there having the same problem, maybe they've taken these move out of this years copy like i see they have with certain game modes. I don't know what's going on but i'm doing what the book describes to do to perform these moves and the player won't do them where as in 2012 no problem, the player does every move every time. I'm wondering if i have a setting set wrong or do i have to buy something from the game shop etc etc can some one or one of the veterans on here please answer my question please and help a brotha out it. I just got a ps3 last christmas and the 2012 pes with it from my wonderful wife, was playing ps2 pes games up until then and have been very impressed with konami soccer brand until yesterday.
God, I can't believe that a simple setting of putting the a/d-level on defensive can transform the game so much. I'm having a blast playing PES 2013 demo2 on full manual on superstar!
Before I never enjoyed playing top-player or superstar due to the massive cheating going on but now it is at a bare minimum.
Konami should have put this defensive-setting on as a default and saved us all a lot of headaches and moaning.
Thanks to the better positioning caused by this defensive-setting, even my attacking has improved.
On the weekend I will try out if it is the same with the full game on my macmini.
It's one of the things that I found about fortnight ago. I was getting a little disillusioned with the game because the game just felt like it was pre-programmed to be so end to end.
It's honestly as if defensive is like normal, in that players (especially midfielders) stay where they are put. It's like the normal function ensures that almost everyone gets ahead of the ball, whereas defensive, ensures that players stay where you put them on the tactics board.
The result is that the CPU acts way differently just by altering this setting, it's as if this adjustment alone makes them play more football, or at least stops them from slaloming into space constantly.
This, combined with more use of R2 in general play has made the game immensely enjoyable.
Yes, it's the same.Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
I've given the attack / defence levels a go, I'm a bit confused. Isn't setting this in the tactical assistance screen the same as manually changing your att/def levels during the game using the d-pad? Setting attack levels to defensive is the equivalent of manually choosing a 2 bar setting during the match?

You can also rotate the Right Stick clockwise to perform the Player I.D. skills.
There have been substitution cutscenes in every PES since PES 5 at least...do you guys remember when did they remove substitution cut scenes from the game? i know it was removed in pes 2011, 2012 and 2013. but what about 2010, 2009, 2008? i can't recall back then.

they are not "in" the way they are in pes6 or pes5.
you see them only if team who has the lead make substitution. and sometimes not even then.
so i ask again, when did they remove pes6 substitution cutscenes from next gen pes?
Sorry if this has been asked, but I couldn't find definite answer. Can you play PES 2013 CO-OP with other players (3 or 4) against CPU? Everyone controlling only one player and CPU controlling rest of them. If yes, is it possible to play league? like master legue or something coop?
Yes, you can ! When you start the match of ML, press the Pause then chose " side select " and you all pick the same side.
So you can only play like that on the same console/PC (offline)? There is no coop online right?
