PES 2013 Discussion Thread

For those who were wondering how to do a chip/lob from distance, it's now done with Shoot (Powered right up) then R2. It's a controlled lob/chip. I scored two of these last night. Class.

And finally, this is the R2 and Sprint dummy where the player opens his body to let the momentum of the ball carry its course. A great option for quick turns without actually taking a touch.

Argh, I want to just download the Daymos OF 1.5 as its a really basic file that just adds badges and kits for English and Portuguese leagues, and nothing else which is what I want, but they were delayed putting the file out, removed it straight away then promised a fixed version but it seems to have gone AWOL. No idea when it's being released. They said it was being uploaded but that was yesterday evening.

I really want this file as all I want are kit and badges for these two leagues, it's smaller so load times are far better, and you can use data pack 1 with it.

I don't see the point in having all the official kits if you then can't have all the official Spanish stadiums via the data pack. Trust Konami to upload an update that screws with the option file maker's files :((
 
I installed Daymo v.2 last night. Works perfectly.

Loving this game the more I play. its not perfect but it's the best football game I have played in a very long time..

playing a CL campaign with PSG on superstar 10 min games. I have read 15 is better?? Might put it up to that.

commentary is still awful but doesnt bother me. have only scored 1 goal in my CL campaign (2 matches played) so not doing too well. Play beautiful football though, I can spend hours tinkering with formations just like old days of PES.

This is a winner. Couldnt go back to FIFA 13 after this.
 
Version 2 does work but I don't think you can have the data pack installed?

FIFA's shooting and goalkeepers are very good but the passing on FIFA, IMO, feels nowhere near as satisfying as PES.
 
i think im set that the best way to play this game is full manual with L2 taped down so the arrows are always on

ive been playing strictly no arrows since this game released and although manual is very fun i find that too many shots and the simple passes go astray to easily, its to hard to have very short link up play outside the box which is vital in real football... i think having an indicator with full manual is the perfect balance between freedom and praticality in a game.

if you to record a game with arrows always on, and were to magically edit them out afterwards, i think the game would look far more life like than a manual game with no arrows at all

just wish they didnt show up in online play... like wtf ?
 
Which PS3 OF is currently the best? Also, is there any OF that includes Spanish 2nd Division?
 
Keepers still do that awful jump to the side dive using the same animations as ISS back in 95.

They also dont watch the ball. They just dive - but watch their head and eyes - they are not even looking at what they are diving at - just looking straight ahead.

Really hope keepers are worked on for PES14

Played you last night and your shooting was quite lethal don't know how Howard kept so many out! I find manual shooting really hard without the arrow, I leave it on assisted offline maybe I just haven't got to grips with it yet...
 
yeah those were good games.. thought i had you on the ropes as the games went on ha.... to be honest i havent had a single bad game when playing against manual players, even the 'boring' games bring satisfaction because theyre usually well contested and fair
 
I had a great session last night with my best mate and old skool PES fanatic. This was our first real session, and we had an absolute blast. We played a 2-Leg Cup with Liverpool v Chelsea, and then Fluminese v Newcastle. The individuality is just amazing, as is Zero Assistance.

My mate had been playing with 1-Bar, and he was loving that. I advised him to go back to how we played PES 12, which was Zero Assistance, and he tried it, and it changed his game completely. He felt he had so much more control and gave me a much better game than he had with 1-Bar. Make of that what you will.

I still haven't got fully into offline yet due to time constraints, I've had a crazy month at work and now I'm off on holiday on Friday, so it will be another week before I can get my teeth fully into this badboy. It's a bit weird having it released so early this year, normally I pick it up after my October holidays, but this year has been different. Having the game and not having the time to really play it has been a bummer.

Although I guess I have a good 12 months yet :)

I use GTM World, although it doesn't have the Spanish 2nd Division, I still feel it's the best PS3 OF available.

Yeah you did lol thought the first game was class played out like a proper prem game me nicking 2 goals on the counter then hanging on at the end some how for a draw.

2nd game was looking quite tight until I made that stupid mistake from goal kick, too used to playing against the CPU I think (they never do that lol). Lesson learnt, look forward to getting my own back on you!
 
Guys,

Can anyone tell me how to display the Player Name as the cursor marker instead of the player number (i.e. 1 or 2). In the settings, there is only the option to turn the cursor ON/OFF - with no option to choose Player Name.

I am playing the PC version of PES 2013.

I may do this at some point in a few months but at the moment I am enjoying '0' Assistance with the odd use of L2 here and there for the skinny passing lane or killer ball moments.

Does taping L2 down have ZERO effect when you DO NOT have the ball ? Is Defence compromised in any way or does L2 do nothing at all when Defending.

I would say WENB v.2 IF it wasn't crashing all the time, it is very full featured and has Championship and Bundesliga done.

I uninstalled it though, until a fix is found and I am currently using Paul2478's OF . . . I am yet to try the GTM World one though.

why not try it now lol. no L2 does nothing except have full manual at all times. i have no idea why on 0bar crosses are still 100% assisted, so dumb.
 
@Lami : Is it still not possible to add more leagues to the game instead of editing the existing ones?
 
Nah you're limited to editing whatever you have in game to whatever you like. English League, PES league, WE league, Portuguese league etc. Can't add any extra to what we have.
 
Daymos V1.5 fix file is now out :DD. Can't wait to get home today and get some game time on PES. Also I will probably up late ish tonight if anyone fancies some games online let me know!
 
You can go online, but the game will only match you up with other people online who don't have DP1 installed. So for example we couldn't play against each other.

Cheers guys! That's interesting, there are some Spanish OFs in the link provided by Lami, which will contain Liga Adelante (Spanish 2nd Div). This will be good for a ML in Spain :)

However I see most OF makers are just waiting for Konami's new DL package with the summer transfers. Editing players and team formations is the most painstaking thing to do, and I'm not gonna do it myself. I'm depending on these guys.

Don't even get me started on Online. This weekend I tried for about 25 minutes to connect with a single soul for an exhibition online match. Incompatible data package or password protected rooms where the only things I found.

Plus, I don't have a local buddy to play local multiplayer with me, no League Mode, a Master League without updated transfers doesn't make sense to me... in other words, I'm lonely! I'm on PES limbo :P

I am at Work until later, then watching Arsenal match.

Was more asking for your confirmation that nothing weird happens, or limitations to defensive play from a result of you taping down the L2 button.

Yes, I was also surprised by the crosses feeling how they do despite Manual - I find L2 corsses very weak, straight and soft when I try them majority of the time . . . how are you finding the crossing with L2 down all the time ?

no, nothing else happens, just manual passes always

crossing with L2 sucks. just like any long ball. air balls are broken in this game, but i got no satisfaction from tapping circle twice and having the ball land on my strikers head. i've tried something variations with crossing which arent too bad, like shooting as a cross, or shooting then tapping R1 for a soft chip shot, or shooting then pressing triangle for an along the ground cross... still testing them out though, but basically id rather use anything than the actual cross button because it doesnt work
