WTF is going on at Konami HQ in Japan these days ?

Can you imagine all of us working as game developers or producers and we get called into a meeting around a big table and the purpose of the meeting is to discuss what we are cutting and what we are keeping for this years release.

Some insane, wacky, free thinking guy thinks he is reinventing the wheel and suggest we cut League Mode out !?!?!?!? . . .

Surely everyone in that room would gasp and murmur and be asking "Why?" - "What is the purpose of removing a 10 year old mode that the fans love and use" - "Boss, I think this is the wrong way for us to go" etc. etc.


Seriously, how has that even got approval from ANYONE within that Konami office, God ! even the tea boy or cleaner should've been piping up "This might not be such a good idea, your reputation is already in tatters with your customers. Perhaps let sleeping dogs lie"


I don't think this London studio they are setting up is going to be the knight in shining armour that we hope it might, but if it at least has ONE employee there that speaks fluent Japanese and English then thank Fuck, as he can be the lucky chap to get on the blower to Tokyo and tell them to sort their shit out ! and stop caning us the buying public !

Maybe when you join WE/PES team at Konami they make you sign a contract with a disclaimer and a paragraph that says :

If you have taken one step forward then now you must attempt to take two steps back.
 
Maybe they removed the league mode, so everybody was forced to play ML and so they were forced to see all the boots advertising etc.
 
So if you don't want to play ML then the only offline game mode to play (besides BAL which isn't the standard game) is a small selection of unlicenced cup competitions? Wow.
 
Why is Alan Partridge talking to himself in a mirror in the PES 2013 thread? That's my main concern. I can live without the league mode and put up with the crazy boots but... Fix these bugs!

I'm a thousand percent sure of this.

And PES 2013 aside, the most worrying news is that all we're hoping for in PES 2014 may not turn out as good, you can tell that by just looking at what Konami is doing at the moment... As long as these out-of-mind people are working there, people who have absolutely no idea what they're doing, the game is always gonna be 1 step forward, 2 backwards... Hmm, two doesn't even seem realistic, probably FIVE is better...

Konami have added a RPG element to the ML. You can buy boots for your players so that they can shoot harder, sprint faster etc... When you start the game all players have black boots and then you can buy better boots.
You can also buy other items which have influence on things like stamina, recovering quicker from injuries etc.

About the boots.
Is this really new? If i remember well, since a couple of years you can download boots packs and they also influence things like shot power, swerve e.a. I'm not sure, because i never bothered with them...

I suppose this was to pander to boots fetishists and also advertise the boot makers' latest pink/green My Little Pony/Barbie Doll fairy boots.
 
I've looked Lami. It's not there. Regarding these boots. You don't have to use them I don't think. You can equip them to a player if you want.


Happy to answer any other questions..

For some reason Malaga have their old kits in the game. Every other club has the new ones. Only noticed as I'm doing an ML with them!
 
Lol for fucks sake Konami. Each and every year they make it harder for me to appear sane when I beg people to give PES a go. It's like they're genius savants that happen to be also incredibly socially awkward with no self-awareness.

I don't even know if their intentions are well meaning or there really is some sinister ploy to maximise exposure to the boot advertising. If it's the latter they can go fuck themselves.

So what clubs are in? Are the South American ones limited to the Copa Liberatores or?

Also, any chance you can access MLO or is that a no go until release day?
 
I have asked about league modes in pes 2013 on the pro evolution soccer site on facebook and they won't answer and keep deleting my posts, so that should tell you something, they usually answer a question when put to them.

As I already said as a some kind of a boot-fetishist myself, this addition is absolutely horrendous even for my species lol... It can't be done right unless they sign contracts for at least 50 boots.

I've been laying stuff out in this thread, but it seems nobody's reading all the posts, except me. :D :JAY:

My sentiments exactly.

I think I'm going to cancel my pre-order and see how the land lies once I get back from my US trip in late October.

As an offline player I've got a choice of friendlies, cups or Champions League mode. Konami are making the option of playing the patched demo for the next twelve months more and more appealing.
 
Oli, could you record and post a 20-min-match with you playing against the CPU at top-player, using zero-bar and all automatics on off, and using a competitive match instead of exhibition (like for example a cup-game) and using the widecam?

I know it's very specific but I'm extremely curious to see what differences there are compared to demo2 and 1, especially how the gamepace is on longer matches and how the CPU acts in a competitive match.

officially you couldn't talk about pes 2013 right now. It's not yet released
