PES 2013 Discussion Thread

I think I'm not gonna buy the game now, at least not right away.I'm gonna use the amazing work of jenkey on the pc demo and just play with friends.
I'll buy FIFA for satisfying my need of league football

I'll probably do the same. Just had enough of this idiocy from Konami. I've been waiting in hope for the killer PES for about six years now and Konami just keep fucking up.

They don't deserve us.

Totally agree with you lads.

And if there's someone who still is an optimist about this, please don't tell us to stop with all the drama. The bigger picture just doesn't get any better even if they add the league mode later on. They still got it fooked up in the first place, they still cover themselves up not even trying to explain why are they doing this. Plain stupid this. Sorry but I'll just save a few quid this time.

You're not mate. Some people think they are in a lifetime binding contract with Konami to buy PES every year and show loyalty.

If you're not happy, don't buy it. Don't let anyone else tell you what to spend your money on.

Erm how many poeple play league mode? and I mean in the last 2 years.

If you start ML put off all growth start with a league team as opposed to the castolos etc you have a league mode with transfers. Think I may have been hasty with my defamation.

Yes the answer to this could be that League mode has been absorbed into Master League mode.

It would work too, but it would still oblige League mode players to bother about a lot of things -- transfers, youths, finances etc -- that League mode traditionally isn't about.

In League mode, you play 1 match and are instantly at the next match. In ML, you have to wait for matchday to come around, sometimes for a few minutes (especially with autosave on).

So it could work within ML, but it wouldn't be the League mode envirnoment as it always has been.

I do. It is one of my favorite modes and a lot of people play leagues together with some friends. Every friend chose a team and then start a league and play a season without manager stuff.

I play leagues a lot because i need to wait for a Bundesliga patch to play a ML with teams of my country. I don't play ML with french, dutch, spanish etc teams because i don't now a lot about this teams an about the players in this leagues. It needs a lot of time to build a team in Ml without knowing the player so well. That's why i wait for a Bundesliga patch, because i know everything about the Bundesliga and the players in the Bundesliga.

But i love to play with teams from other countrys because it is great fun. But it only make sense for me if i can play a league without time expensive management.

Yeah deciding not to buy the game is entirely your perogative. I'll buy the game primarily because I love the gameplay but if it turns out that I can't do a traditional ML with your club starting on no money and with the crappy players, or if the boots thing does turn out to be utter turd, then barring playing a few relatively short cup modes there's simply nothing to do if you play offline. Which is as good a reason not to buy the game as any other.

That's it. Simple as that. Choose a league, pick up a team and play game by game without all the manager stuff. It is a great way to play french, dutch, spanish and now brasil teams and learn about other leagues and players in this leagues.
 
Is it even possible to NOT have 65% or more possession on this without purposefully playing poorly? The basketball attitude of the AI, once again, is pretty much a game-breaker for me.

Just stumbled upon this oldish article, posted in June, but there's an interesting paragraph ... no one probably paid attention to it when it was published, but in a context of recent turmoil ...

The Spanish league will be full available as DLC on day one - as will the Stadia. There will also be bespoke crowd chants for each of the Spanish leagues.

Hint of Spanish league being fully available (league, not just additional stadiums) through day-one DLC ... with Primera being flagship license this year, maybe Konami decided to remove League option from pre-DLC/pre-patched game and to enable it once this DLC with all the licenced Primera goodies is applied?

One can certainly hope ...

I'm not interested in the time consuming aspects of master league, I just want a straightforward league mode. Just pick the team and play the fixtures one after another.

I don't think this can be glossed over with a potential workaround.
 
In a spanish forum someone that has the game says this:

Inside Competition Mode that appears on the video there's are the leagues, cups etc.
So is fake alarm, Konami has not removed it, it would be foolish not to worry. So i repeat the leagues are inside COMPETITION MODE.

OMG stop on. It is basketball. 24 seconds possession and fast breaks.

I dont know why you guys are up in arms about removed features

They removed ability to choose which fwds and midfielders to send up for set pieces
The removed the original challenge mode and replaced it last year with crap
The removed manual goalies and replaced it with crap input
they removed ability to remove the wall and replaced it with crap
they removed delayed yellow cards
They remove manual passing during set plays
They removed defensive setting "Cover" which fixed the sb problem
They removed arrows and replaced it with they substandard slider system
They removed Snow (is there rain?)
They removed individual referees and ability to choose.
They remove ball tracer in replays.
They f'd up the replay system by removing some of the better positions and controls
They removed camera options
They removed speed settings from 1-20(ps one) and added -2 to +2
They removed boot editing.

They removed gameplay :P

AKA get used to it.
They may remove passing next
