Assumption based on last year's experience - got digital download PC version from gamesplanet.com on release day and it was already patched to version 1.01. And that (1.01) hardly could have been the initial unpatched version Konami released on dvd media for PC or consoles. Do we still remember all the love-hate comparisons between 1.00 and later 1.01/1.02/1.03 versions? Somehow people were able to revert their game back to 1.00

Hmm, very strange, the thing is if League mode is actually removed then no-one at Konami will ever explain why, it's always the case.

I'm an exclusive ML player but was severely tempted by the 'La Liga' League Mode. I guess I'll just have to sit back and let the boot advertising wash over me, safe in the knowledge that it's utterly wasted advertising. These days I'm about as likely to buy a pair of football boots as I am buying a yaght in the Maldives....

One thing I am concerned about that I don't think anyone's mentioned is that Adam's video shows no evidence of being able to play ML with the now famous default players. If I can't take over my club with the likes of Hamsun and Ordaz etc then I'll actually consider not buying the game. I love ML because you can take a famous club on its knees and rebuild from scratch. If I can't do that or even play a standard league, I won't be happy. But lets wait and see.

Still, none of those patches has ever added two complete modes back in. They most certainly didn't remove them by accident, if they aren't there on retail they won't be there the rest of the year, unless people make a gigantic fuss about it (maybe), and probably only 4 months from now.

Pretty disastrous for consoles, lets see how PC users can fix this... I'm pretty sure even Juce can't make League mode back into the game :(

Konami have come across as being very sneaky this year, whether intentionally or as a result of the usual bad PR and lack of/mis-information. It's almost a bit deceitful. Imagine players who never visit sites like this yet league mode and ML are all they spend their time on. They faithfully buy the game each year as always and with 2013 they get a nasty surprise.

I don't know about anybody else but when I'm looking to buy something I want to know its full feature set, not just buy it blindly and hope it does the things I want.

Spot on. The game is out in 7 days and we don't really know what's in or not in it. Crazy.

No need to go that far, the league structure options are still very much there in the Edit Mode, exactly like last year.

They just removed the generic League Mode and forced everyone to play ML.

Removing Community Mode makes absolutely no sense at all, from any perspective.

I don't know how reliable VGChartz sale figures are, but I found this an interesting trend;

Title - Europe - Japan
PES 08 - 1.99m - 0.36m
PES 09 - 2.36m - 0.43m
PES 10 - 1.82m - 0.49m
PES 11 - 1.57m - 0.54m
PES 12 - 1.23m - 0.52m

These are the combined region sales for the PS3 & Xbox editions.

So while the series popularity in Europe has steadily declined, it's progressively increased in Japan.

Like i said few weeks ago as always, add 2 good stuff, remove 6 good stuff, break 4 good stuff. And so on every year.

What i'm puzzled most is the online community tab, it appeared in the review code videos, but in the israeli video, there ain't it. Maybe it will indeed be a day 1 patch that unlocks online for whole world + remianing la liga stadiums. (and hopefully league mode)...

There is a small chance that you unlock league by winning a Cup or something other.

Prof: the magic boots.
Konami have added a RPG element to the ML. You can buy boots for your players so that they can shoot harder, sprint faster etc... When you start the game all players have black boots and then you can buy better boots.
You can also buy other items which have influence on things like stamina, recovering quicker from injuries etc.

About the boots.
Is this really new? If i remember well, since a couple of years you can download boots packs and they also influence things like shot power, swerve e.a. I'm not sure, because i never bothered with them...

To me the eventual absence of League mode is worse than the f*cked up ML...well i guess we will have to play ML then...

It's not the end of the world but once again it shows what a weird company Konami is, they are the gaming company equivalent of North Korea...

If you didn't notice...in the video showing off edit mode, around 30sec it lists Community Mode.

Yes. But the Edit-Mode video ist of Review-Code. Yair's is from Retail-Version.

But this gives hope, that Community Feature might be unlocked via Day-One-Patch or something. But maybe not. Who knows.

Don't know if this is old news but they're selling PES 2013 in Computer Exchange in London already. Picked up my copy yesterday
