PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

the stumble animation needs to go. its nearly everytime you sprint beside a defender it happens. and to rub it in the person who makes you stumble always nicks the ball of you.

YouTube - pes 2013 demo 2 ANNOYING STUMBLE ANIMATION

Watch the video again. The animation is not the problem. Its the speed boost and motion shifting. I think the animation is decent but physics must be respected on both parts. The Guy behind should be equally penalized by physics.

the animation is the problem.. well to be more precise, WHEN the animation is activated is the problem. pretty much every time you sprint side by side a defender this happens

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I can't exactly put my finger on it, but I think it's because, although independently shitty, when combined Konami's animations have natural timing. EA continues to mocap a lot of sexy animations, which look great by themselves, however when combined, they look ridiculous.

Timing is essential in animation; too fast and they look comical (FIFA), too slow and they look sluggish (PES 2010). NBA 2K games are a good example of excellent animations and timing.

Konami has found a nice balance for PES 2013's animation timing. One can only hope that as they move to the next engine and inevitably improve the animations that they will stick to the simple principles of animation.

NBA 2k use Exaggeration to help the timing. Its better to be slow than fast as far as simulating the bio mechanics of a human. Of 2k is too sluggish worse than PES. PES & FIFA are guilty of tweaking animation play back speed which sometimes invalidates the overall motion. It is the price to be paid for trying to manage the animation. NBA 2k on the iphone has 1000s of animations from as far as 2k1 to 2k9. Every year 2k adds about 1000 new animations and throw away the ones they feel are not good enough constantly trying to cover all context and situations where animations are missing.
They also use Euphoria to some extent.

Well they need to represent the act of getting bumped. Shame they don't have a variety of animations to represent that interaction.

It is not the animation at fault. Watch the clip again from 0:17 - 0:20 look at rooney's feet.
I can explain the code logic behind that.
Rooney is bigger and stronger than alexis.
Alexis has lower body balance hence his animation is slower and longer
rooney recovers faster and the game decides her wins the ball.
Rooney is too far from the ball but the game did not take that into account hence he is moved and the animation is blended.

You get mad and scream at tv.

If there was proper animation and Alexis played a totally different animation maybe one that made him stumble off path and rooney wasn't slide into place you would be convinced.

I would tend to agree, and it applies as a general rule in PES. Very often the outcomes are technically correct but the way those outcomes are represented in the game visually is completely wrong, often owing to a lack of animation diversity meaning there simply isn't an animation suitable for that context. A new engine with a massive increase in animation variation should allow for better representations of these outcomes, especially if they implement a dynamic engine for collision physics and so on.

i understand yopu but im not talking about rooney though or him sliding... im talking about the stumble animation, which happens to everyone who sprints side by side another player

I also stated that there was a lack of variety in animations

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Install Demo
uninstall origin
download Demo Crack (Yes FIFA has a demo crack)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

EA want to make money even from the demo :D I'm happy that i'm not fifa fan :BOP:

Any way . I will not buying PES, pre order because :
1) Nothing about online mode ... Which is most important mode for me, when i buy some sports game ! They just say that :
" In online mode you can play..... ONLINE "
and
" Now all your friends in Facebook can see how you win , or how a big noob your are , or how you still play a video games .. boooo " !!!
2) No 2nd demo for us , PC users !
I want to ask you guys, please make one good review on online mode after next Friday ;) thx

After playing the FIFA demo, as expected, it can be a fun game, a pick up and play kickabout with great presentation, smooth animations, fun additions such as the skill games that take PES’s training and expand it into a Virtua Tennis mini game style, match day/live season thing; they’re also beginning to catch up with PES in terms of teammate AI, but it still doesn’t beat PES on these 3 things:

1) Pronounced effect of stats on the pitch - making for more differences between players – making for better player individuality

2) Player movement – footplanting, momentum and inertia model – despite having less fluid animation transitions, players dribble more contextually when taking touches with the ball; movement physics of weight/mass, velocity and inertia are much more lifelike and adhere to human behavior especially when accelerating, decelerating, coming to a stop or changing direction.

3) Strategy and tactics – PES’s use of strategy and tactics has a deeper effect on the pitch to a greater degree than FIFA (a follow on effect of the better individuality and good teammate ai)

And they are pretty big things that still make PES, whie not flawless itself, the better choice for me when it comes to core gameplay.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

This is a late reaction to a video posted 2 pages before, showing the best players by stats. But here it goes:

Cesc Fabregas has always been a player with an Overall rating in the 80's... he was something like 84 in PES 2011, when he played for Arsenal week in, week out, when he was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Now he has 96 overall rating! Even though he makes only the bench at Barcelona.

I guess it's just one of those things, from the moment a player joins Barcelona, he's hyped up by Konami whereas he had been downgraded when playing for another team.

Another thing I noticed was Deco belonging to a team called "Framucabal" in blue kits... this looks like an unlicensed Fluminense, contrary to the news that the Brazilian League would be fully licensed. And if it is so, how come Fluminense is licensed in the Libertadores, but not in the Brazilian League?
This is very strange, but wouldn't doubt it from Konami.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Yair since you are no longer interested in Gameplay modding could you give any tips on how to patch gameplay? EG what memory addresses control what etc.
I really want to fix player positioning and movement or replace it with one from a previous pes. Even player switching

what who told you that? I'm still working on pes2013 :)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

If the game is already out in Israel then it will leaked any time soon if it hasn't been already. Looks like we will get demo 2 after all :SMUG:
