Maybe he will become much more important when they will open that London studio, but right now he is just a marketing and feedback man. You can't really blame him for something that has been done by the team in Japan.

Yet i have seen people sending him raging tweets about the bootgate

Wait so every player in ML will have black boots? Thats it... I was hesitant but now im for sure not buying pes 2013.

I was thinking I might go back and check out an old PES at some point before 13 is out. Think I'll start with PES 2008 tonight :)).

Better do that with a clear mind. Treat it as something new and never tried before. See how it goes. Oh and don't touch it if you're on PS3. 360 better.

Konami has handled the launch of PES2013 terribly this year. While 'bootgate' is as shit as it gets, and ensures I don't return to master league this year, the second PC demo (lack of) is what is pissing me off the most. While consoles owners are playing a demo more representative of the final product, PC owners are stuck with older code.

You could say PC owners are already spoiled with the patches on offer, but that's all window-dressing. I want to sample the newer gameplay before I buy.

Konami has made a statement about what they think of the PC market and I'm not happy with that at all.

PC even better? Hope so as I'll be playing it on PC and see if there are any patches still around...

Yeah it should be. Never tried it myself though. Should be similar to the 360 version I guess and better with patches.

PC version of 2008 was the last one to have fully fledged kitserver too - unlimited faces, boots, balls, stadiums, 3rd, 4th, nth kits, etc.

At best, 2008-2010 sections were moved to hidden regions of forum (archive or something like that) to avoid clutter in editing section. Could also be deleted for good.

Doubt PES 2008 has been patched by anyone in a long time and all older patches will have dead links.

Sometimes its nice just playing the original game with original OF. Bit of nostalgia for the particular season the game came out and not too bad if you play in a league with licensed kits.

Jon Murphy is fucking useless in my estimation, compared to the job Dave Rutter does for FIFA he is a giant egg-headed waste of space, anyone remember his turgid monotone voice work for the PES 2012 teaser videos? I reckon that lost more sales than it gained simply because it was enough to send someone to sleep. Now when the shit hits the fan he is nowhere to be seen.

The people blaming PES' demise on Adam/WENB must be smoking crack, I was as critical as anyone for his whitewash during the time of PES 2008-2010 but he is hardly to blame for their utter failure to transition to the next generation of hardware, and the way he has initiated the great shitstorm of our times over bootgate is a sure sign that even he has got sick of their shenanigans. Respect where respect is due.

Hmmm wtf is everyone getting on the PES2008 bandwagon?! Serioudly not even jimmy wanted to play that.

2 years time PES2013 will go down as the greatest football game made once people have taken time to play it and looked for reasons to lambast PES2015

@vitalicx please check your facts FIFA10 I think or 11 had an absolutely broken career mode with promises that weren't met and bad glitches that were never fixed not to mention the lead developer on the mode taking his honeymoon immediately after release and not responding to any hate mail.

Point taken, but I wasn't suggesting he has a perfect track record, simply that the job he does promoting and communicating the game as a whole is superior. The fact he is chiefly responsible for moving the game away from the simulation foundations laid out between FIFA 08-09 is indefensible.

So when did Murphy last tweet? What is the point of his role?

I thought he was there as a link between Konami Japan and the community. His silence may not be his choice, but it is deafening.

This 2008 love is really coming out of the blue. Apart from PES 2 it's the only Iss/Pes title I never really liked.

@OnlyProEvo on twitter say that Konami still have no news on a second PC demo, only that it will be out in sept.

I was surprised to read praise for 2008 here. But each one has their tastes.
IMO it was very faulty and that frame rate defect was really frustrating.
That didn't stop me from having lots of ML fun though.
In hindsight, it wasn't too bad at all for a 1st game on a new platform. As I remember, the first WE5 for PS2 was poor.

For me, the only version I didn't play at all was 2010 (spent that whole year without a console) and the 2012 was the only version I abandoned (going back to 2011).

Now it's good to see 2013 going in the right direction again, even if there are some obvious flaws.
