One of the main issues I have with demo 1 is the unfair catch-up bug by the AI. Can anyone who has played at Gamescom comment on this? Are you still experiencing it?

another game another chip shot goal,these shots are really starting to look overpowered with the keepers under animated to save them

First statement is right, but bold statement isn't. Actually they are too good at stopping those shot IMO (because those shots are completely 'perfect', if done with players with high TEC).

Edit: Forget that question. It happens again near the end of the match, I think that one player deliberately lets the goalkeeper come out that far, for fun.

konami completely ignoring players fitness and stamina is almost as bad as fifa ignoring player movement/inertia

just look at these guys play... ful sprint all the sprint, constant pressure. no thought in their football

God that was painful to watch..maybe its how it played but just looked so arcadeish with ping pong passes..probably can be fixed with zero assists...ball on a string is still evident which does my head in

Let's face it, in a real game, a through ball is just a well weighted pass into space. So perhaps in the future, instead of a through ball button, the button is replaced by a fully manual pass button (i.e. the same as passing with the manual modifier) and would apply to ground balls or lofted balls.

That way it takes some user skill, as well as player stats to determine how good the through ball is, and it would also open up the manual modifier button so that you can make fully manual passes or crosses without holding down another button.

This is by far the best news I have heard. Infact they must remove it altogether and make it manual by defualt.

Dont forget that pes was build on this through pass accuracy by playesr stats and execution timing. I feel it also true in pes 2013 and would love them to stay this way. I understand why someone mentioned in previous post that lob through ball does not work ;) . We need to consider the receiving player running path, and defender position too in order to succed.

However I do agree in somepoint that through ball button is removed as long as we can have variety of normal lob/long and ground pass.

Its a delicate balance for sure.

PES2012 you could ping throughpasses from behind the halfway line with the likes of Evra.

Makes me think the AI should also impose on itself a vision stat. It can only play in a limited space due to its own inability to see a play accurately. LOL the way the ball gets pinged about is too successful.

This is not GamesCom video ! It's from the PC version of the demo .

Good observation. Now that you say it, some things are suspicious: It's not filmed off the screen but directly captured and Bayern Munich playing against Santos is not possible in the normal demo so it has to be modded.

Thanks for telling us. Some people on the internet are really poor souls, producing fake videos...

Yes, a realistic realtime two-tiered stamina/fatigue-system is such a fundamental aspect that would influence many other aspects that it is imho the number1-thing to implement in PES 2014.

To introduce a vision-stat as suggested by zeemeister is also important to make pass-success/capabilities more realistic.

does anyone else have a problem controlling their defensive position ?? everytime the AI attacks via the wings my CB seems to run side by side my FB and just messes up my whole back line, every attack. Also my DM always seems out of position - seems to easy to pass to the forwards

Youre not alone matty, one of the biggest issues from the demo.

playing it is not intuitive at all, Y button loosing his matter, L2 loosing his matter
and u need to be on the edge and crisp in your head every pass u make, in real life a player is not thinking like that every time he makes a pass

game becomes a "need to hold the stick correct millimeter wise all the time to get it done" fest and has nothing to do with pes anymore

and through balls get actually worse here, im sure its a bug
sometimes u need to hold it like 3 seconds to get a one-touch pass for 10 meters
thats crap, srsly..

If you are having problems with your defensive positioning, which I imagine most people are as its not great, you need to get real freindly with the right stick to switch players. When defending I will only control a single players for the time it takes to position them, then I jump to another who is in a dodgy area and move them, then onto the next... Obviously if I am in the position to make a tackle I will but mostly I just switch around, quickly pulling players about and then use the secondary pressure and the AI to do the rest for me.
It works great, I rarely get caught out with players in silly positions allowing the CPU to run free. It also makes the game far more involving and enjoyable defending as a team.

Do people here know you can actually control through balls? I mean add spin to through ball? If not you're missing out xP.

Plus I don't know what the L1 + B combo is, but it seems like you can play that from your defense to go over their high defense to your attacker/winger. Though direction of it is v. random (as you would expect!).

I find chipped through balls not as effective anymore, much more prefer to use R2 + B (lob). So deadly with good passers :X.

well i disgaree about 0 bar through ball being 'scripted' and going to defenders... my players get on the end of them fine... however yeah... L2 is much better... there should be an option for L2 manual on everything, not just shooting... stupidest is crossing on 0 bar which is like 4 bar assist...
