Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

would somebody be kind and provide me a link to a PC tower that I could buy to play pes2013 on...thinking of hooking it up to my 55" samsung

i found the specs needed

The PC Building Thread is your best bet.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Whatever anyone says, PC is the platform for PES. The editing section speaks for itself.

Have played PES2013 demo totally since its release and enjoyed it, but it does need some tweaks.
Tonight I went back to my PES2012 Master League & played 4x15 minute games on PC and the experience was way ahead of anything PES2013 has offered.
That just summed up for me how much the editing community for PC
has changed the game. For me the new demo is behind the fully modded 2012 game.
However I have no doubts that pes2013 will be a fantastic starting point this year and in 12 months time I will most likely make the same analysis.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Someone applying extensive bug testing-like logic to a demo, while constructive to a degree, is rather pointless at this stage. Yeah, PC demo can be patched but at the end of the day it is a patched demo. Not only is the build incomplete but it is also the case the demo itself is configured for the parameters they have set. Not to say that longer matches won't give some better insight or that it will suddenly get much better in demo 2 or final release. I think everyone knows there is an issue with ease of dominance in possession and is something everybody would like to see curtailed in some way.

I just wanted to check how critical the AI behaviour was. I do feel like testing the demo, and will continue to do so. Cheers.

EDIT:

Some people think testing bugs is wrong, or a bad attitude. They think we just just accept the game as it is.
I'd like to remind those people that Yair's patches, Kitserver, Jenkey's work, etc., were created because the game has limitations, and in most cases (specially Yair's) problems.

So, before blaming me for finding bugs, blame Yair for fixing them.

Demos are for testing if you play it any other way you must be stupid.

Good point - this demo is based on 60% code so it won't be perfect and not everyone has a pc to mod the game.I've got a pc but i've only unlocked the time settings, i've not felt the need to modd the game to the max. I also play it on the ps3.

Ok, so I'll ask you this....what is the point of this demo? What are Konami's reasons for releasing so early? If it's not for extensive feedback, and it's not representative of the final product, what is the point?

To me this isn't a demo, it's a beta. There to be tested and assessed by the fans so that Konami can make the necessary changes (within reason) to avoid a similar fuck up to last year.

With this in mind I don't really understand what you are driving at in your previous posts. Let the community give Konami all the feedback they can. Then there will be no excuses for a PES2012-style fiasco.

If I were you I wouldn't look to build or buy a PC just to be able to play PES 2013. I would look to buy/build one that is also well capable to play PES 2014 and later that will use the Fox-engine, that will probably need more horsepower to run fluidly.

Really mate? What mods and patches are you using and how have you configured them?

are you from europe/uk? how much would a computer cost that could play good games, the cheapest one that does the most. ?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

3 things are potential gamebreakers for me in long term, if nothing is done about them. I'll be repeating myself but I can't stress this enough really.

They're all kinda related: Player switching, player "rails" chasing the ball and player awareness. Those three things start to get annoying after a few time, with player switching deciding not to work as you want it every now and then, the fact you can't choose to, when or how to chase a ball that's passed in front of you or get's lost in a rebound, and the fact that AI players are often unaware of what's around them, be it the ball, an opponent, or even my own human controlled player... I keep bumping into AI players of my own team, and losing the ball because of that. They keep chasing down the balls I have pretty much in control. So, so irritating.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

For me platform for Pes is Playstation no doubt. I feel soul when i play it on Ps.

It could be that you're just set in your ways, or that you like the PS controller, which can be used on a PC anyway.

PS3 is the weakest platform for the game right now, the graphics are unbearably bad and then there's the obvious slowdown in certain situations that's blighted the game since PS2.

PC has the "soul", just plug it into a HDTV through a HDMI port and play with all the mods and tools that the editing community put out. It's a totally different game, on the field and in terms of eye candy.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

about football life.

at least we can offer new game, is to use ID features.
example:
Cristiano Ronaldo running style.:)
style passes, Pirlo.:)
and different features that can be -combined-.
would be great.

Yep, speaking as someone who has played PES across all three platforms last year, the PS3 is the weakest graphically. The 360 only just edges it mind you (fewer jaggies).

I'm playing the demo on my PC in the living room though my 42" TV using a 360 pad. The game still has soul, let me tell you.

Agreed 100%. I suspect that the switching will be fixed for the final game, but the other two issues have plagued PES for many years and will most likely remain.

I'm really thinking of getting a gaming PC, just how much better does the pc version look?

It's not night and day out of the box, just cleaner, sharper looking and smoother. The game looks really nice anyway. The patches help improve the look because you can switch off the blur effect, increase the level of detail and improve pitch textures.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I have had the joy to try out different patches from the editing-forum here on evoweb and it's night-and-day compared to the demo default.

You can have nice looking nightgames thanks to Dr. Hany's nightturf-patch. That alone is reason enough to consider the PC-version.

Then you can get cyborg's white net-patch. Why has Konami made nets grey?

Then you have better playerswitching thanks to yair's patch.

And you get better balanced gameplay thanks to jenkey's mod.

Really, compared to default game the patched up version is miles better, and that is with the demo, once the final game is here the patchmakers will really bring out some nice things.

Regarding a gaming PC, every new PC for 400€ or more should suffice. Maybe a 100€ more to make sure it is capable to handle the Fox-engine fluidly at highest settings. Just look for one with HDMI-out.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Try http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/ to compare different components. I'd recommend basing any new buy around a good CPU (at least an i5 and probably best to go i7). GFX cards are something you can change up, don't go for the very top card as the cost per performance is too high.

I play very comfortably right now on a gaming laptop (i7-2630QM, GTX 560M, 12GB DDR3), but looking to build a desktop over the next year. I'd expect to pay $1000US for a really good desktop set up that will last me a good while, but you certainly don't have to go that high.

Also, consider that you'll likely want to play other games on it. PC gaming is a hell of a lot more involving.

Those are very much in mate, some volleys have incredible dip on them.

I've actually seen enough variety in shots if I'm honest. Did anyone spot slight badly timed volleys that make the shot go towards the ground, and then it bounces of it really hard, creating a dangerous chance as well?

I've seen those wicked dipping volleys on PES 2012 too. But enough of that on a normal shot. You know, maybe a shot that bounces in front of the keeper and forces him to spill the ball or one that dips just under the cross bar.

Also seen the bouncing shot you mentioned but I think it goes too far. If you hit a shot into the ground like that it will bounce up but not like someone has bowled a bouncer in cricket.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

see this is the thing with pc's.. everytime i have a look around for one i get lost on the first, just no idea what to look for

so to keep it simple

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

I suspect PES 2014 will have a massive increase on the minimum specs, so if you're just buying a PC now, you might as well be ready to spend money on something decent. I suggest you look for more accurate suggestions on a specialty hardware forum, there's lots of them out there.

better LOD improves animations too, slightly

isnt fox engine be told about that is has quite low hardware requirement?
there shudnt be problem to keep it under 800€ for a decent gaming pc, for pes anyway
havent updated mine for ages and can play bf3 on medium-high settings full hd res. @ solid 45-60(60 being capped) fps
have a ati 5850 gfx card and some old quad cpu

I'm using the wehella's patch and am just wondering how I import the turfs that are available for download into the game?

Also, where is hany's turfs exactly?

Well, without much in the way of patches applied bar the unlock thus far, I can run it on high settings on my laptop - just need to make sure I enable the correct graphics card from the BIOS. The fan kicks in but it winds down fairly sharply after a match...

Keeping it simple....avoid! Check the PC building thread because Steelhorse suggested a similar rig to this and you can read why we said it wasn't a good buy.

I suspect there won't be a massive increase in minimum specs as a modest gaming PC from the last year or two can reduce a 360 or PS3 to a pile of silicon rubble in the performance stakes. The next-gen consoles are rumoured to be on a par with a half decent gaming PC of today.

You're right though. With the next-gen consoles around the corner, PC games will no longer be held back so much by the current multi-format game development, so it makes sense to buy something with a bit of performance for future proofing.

Just tried them myself, turf looks nice and vibrant.

Shame Konami can't do this themselves.

Cheers, man.

I actually asked Hany about his turfs a wee while back and what he does (at least initially) is disable the additional lighting Konami put on night turfs. Apparently Konami have light emitting from their night turfs in addition to the stadium lighting casting down upon it. It's already been fed back along with them reducing the reflection of the light off the kits in night matches. The warmer and more colourful the image in night matches the better as it would I believe improve definition/clarity overall if there is less light bouncing about.

Yep, that looks far more natural after trying it. I have seen the images he posted to Adam a while back but only now seeing it in the flesh do you see how much of a difference it makes.
