PES 2011 Discussion thread

I only play on Semi Assisted and I still have issues with the switching, mainly with the way it seems to go berserk when the ball is in the air. There are times when it will switch me from my chosen player to someone on the other side of the pitch. It just confuses the hell out of me. Yet another one of those niggles that add up to more frustration.

Same for me. 9/10 shots seem to just float/drift over. Can't seem to hit it with the laces with power.

Also keep conceding from through balls that my defenders fail to read. Might be something to do with the player switching.
 
I have the same problem as Mityai. I can only play quick matches onlie due to some router settings. Anybody know how to fix that??

back to the shop your game is going you know why? because they just cant leave some things alone. Got in put it on, think its an improvement except i cant play this game, they've ruined it for me with the garbage camera angles.

They've ruined the broadcast camera - the only camera i could play on with the most useless, vomit inducing implementation ive ever seen. The camera actually pans as you play like your swinging side to side on some sort of camera crane and i HATE the wide cam with a passion, i like to see across the field.

So thats that then. Ruined.

WTF?

Just noticed the green zone bug hasn't been fixed in the official UK final release version! Managing to jog into the final third and consistently cross and score on top player! The crosses never get blocked and the defenders never challenge! Konami sure messed up!
 
I've played 5 games so far and no lag:BOP: 4 wins and a draw so pretty decent. Though i do feel a whore having experienced the online beta and just slotted back into winning ways anticipating where its'll slow slightly and playing against people who have jumped into the deep end with no armbands on:SMUG:
 
I have just played it for about 13 hours. My eyes are bleeding. Online has been tremendous. No more cheap goals, if you get beat it's because someone has outplayed you for the most part, with football. Nice.

Have you noticed the killer green zone bug against the ai Jimmy?
 
i think im doing it wrong.

I just spent an age importing pes 2010 data only to find that less than half of the stuff copied over or shows up. Most premiership teams are showing, though some have no badge and others have screwed kits. And the championship sides are no where to be found.

gutted after all that time copying and deleting files

it is well known that it is in the final version. have you played the final version? just get the ball wide in the final third, jog towards the line and cross - it can't be blocked and I just beat france on top player. I'm a bit unsure how you haven't discovered it?

So Jim, I tried Top Player for the first time today. I don't know how you guys do it. The issues I have appear even more on that difficulty level! Something feels very off about the player collision in this game. On Top Player, CPU defenders regularly ignore my player's mesh, literally 'going through' me. Other times, the engine will recognize the collision and send me stumbling (of course), but the referees don't recognize that as a foul. I think I need to play some real people because the CPU handicaps are driving me crazy. The more I play this game against the CPU, the more I hate it!

yup still there.. i thought konami is already aware of it since demo launch at least Jon Murphy said the konami's team has been informed bout this. IIRC, one of PESfan admin said also the team is working on that. Hope they could fix n be patched soon.

does it also happen in master league ?, in my experience PES 2011 full so far ML top player is more clever than in exhibition the same as in pes 2010.

How much different is the final game compared to the demo Jimmy?

Sorry but how am i flaming? i just bought the game, do you think i bought it for a laugh?

The camera is a joke - to have it as an option since the PS2 days then to remove it this year is absurd. Even worse is you cant tweak the height and zoom of the current broadcast cam.

Also the switching so far works like this:

Assisted: Cpu switches for you but not always to the nearest man. When i press the cursor switch to make it the nearest man, it changes it again to someone else, sometimes someone further away from the ball!

Semi: Works better with the switching except when i try to run my players dont move they 'stutter' sometimes on the spot.

Fixed: Completely useless, no point in trying.

Unassisted: Probably the worse of the lot, a real stroke of stupidity. You have to press the cursor before the ball gets to your man otherwise the computer takes over and starts controlling your team! Absolutely stupid.

I really want to give this game a chance but i cant even get the basics down. With a better camera angle i may have been able to perciviere.
 
Adam update

I'm now on the final straight guys.

International kits is where I am. Only doing some, but I'm desparate for Brazil and Uruguay. If anyone can help, please post in here. I'm starting the others now (around 20 or so)

Master League A.I is still unforgiving, I thought I'd found my "be and end all" tactic, after tweaking it after every match, and next thing I know, I'm down 3 - 0 thanks to Real Madrid (I'm with Athletic), and my next 3 games end in draws. In a fit of rage I deleted all of my tactic saves lol.

Passing is has suddenly also gotten challenging since passing to a player to is right next to you requires a tap the lasts a microsecond.
 
Ok im getting worried now. My players stop running whe i press the RT (i have run set to that) they all just stand still and stutter everytime now. ive switched gamepads and everything just incase it was the trigger, but its not. Seriously anyone have this problem? Really cant get them to run, cpu just walks through my defence everytime.

Why are you pressing that? (A) is pressuring the defender, hold back to goal on the left stick and hold (A) and you are sorted, well it takes time but lay off the sprint button, its useless when defending.

Which version you have? I am curious, did not have that problem with X360 version (Spanish one)
 
Ok figured it out.

Massive bug if you have the gamespeed set to +1 makes players stutter. ok when you knock the speed down.

Well done to Adam on getting that option file done so quickly. It takes an effort even when you have all the images etc. I hope it isn't a rush jobby.
 
Let's be honest though, if they can't put in a trick system that actually takes into account the context of the situation and the probability of pulling off said tricks in a given scenario then they shouldn't have bothered to change them at all.

Somebody rainbow flicking over several defenders whilst ghosting through them whilst the aforementioned defenders can't do anything in the context of the game to stop it and the trick can't be messed up because it is scripted to be the same each time is just a pointless addition of a feature. Basically saying if my defenders don't act as a deterrent and can't barge the other player off the ball whilst the scripted flick ensues then what's the point, it turns into somewhat of any exploit does it not?

It's not just rainbow flicks either. Elastico-ing defenders just leads me to question why they bothered to change the system at all. Especially in a game that is usually so big on stats.

If you're thinking this was an annoyed response to something similar happening to me then you're right. 3 times some guy did a rainbow trick over my defenders whilst they couldn't do much about it.

I'm going to be honest mate, i think the demo is quite a bit better than the final game in terms of gameplay.

The full game feels faster, but the players feel less responsive. The collision system doesn't seem to work and it leads to some messy looking animations at times. The AI are more aggressive off the ball so you don't get as much time.

I was hoping this was a placebo but i've just put the demo back on after playing 3 games on the full game. The difference is night and day imo.

I'm not sure what Konami have done. The game is still good, but i'm not feeling it like i was the demo. Hopefully in time i will adjust but it definitely feels like Konami have messed with it in a bad way.

I know you didn't ask me, but i was about to have a little bit of a moan about it anyway so i thought i'd sneak in there. Jimmy will be loving it anyway. Aha.
 
I HATE how you can\t remove the CPU player's name from above their heads.

This is made even more nonsensical after they've effectively allowed you to remove all cursors from the human controlled players.

I keep getting edged out of games or pegged back to a draw because i have no luck online!

Maybe it's because I'm constantly using weaker teams (Atletico, Napoli, ajax) vs Inter, Real etc..

Having issues vs Inter Milan, it's there defense really, that auto tackle helps their team out too much! Also what has frustrated me so much is the amount of easy chances I'm missing, dominating play but getting edged out by goals against the run of play!

Apart from that online is very surprisingly! outstanding! 75% of the players i've faced have played proper football, the odd few using the rainbow flick to no avail :RANT: and some very annoying lucky inter player who just spammed passes out wide all game!

Lag every now and again, apart from that connections are good, and very playable!

The 4-3-3 inter players are a pain, but certainly no unbeatable in any way. Doesn't feel like they have a unfair advantage, just the advantage that their teams is better in stats. (Maybe the auto tackle is too kind!

Sorry, no offense but you need to completely relearn this game from scratch!

It's absolutely nothing like FIFA in any way shame or form!

Everything you do, passing, dribbling especially etc.. just learn it again, or ask someone to help. No point hating on the game because your struggling to play it!

Takes 3-4 games to get into man :) That's what i was thinking the first few games.

Best used after you feel professional isn't aggressive enough :)
