PES 2011 Discussion thread

Hi guys, I wanted to tell you about a video i've made which i really did my best on. I only post my what i think best video's i make and this one really took some time! jesus

YouTube - PES2011 - The Prophecy of the Eagle - Vitesse Master League Mega Montage/Compilation

After 200 sony vegas crashes, 2 corrupt projects and whole lot of shitload effects I finally finished the video! This is one mega edited compilation about my 5 seasons Master league online i have been busy with in the past month.
This took longer to make than the Reborn PES video.

This took so much time to make, I chose Vitesse after all because it has most young stars for me. I'm not a fan of any Dutch club at all. I hope you appreciate the time that i've put in this video. Enjoy!

great vid bro, some of those goals and passing moves are sublime. well done.

Can former players become only scouts or can they take other positions in the staff?

Edit: I mean in ML

Fuck off corners, they're like russian roulette. Always ALWAYS ALWAYS select my DM when defending them, which happens to sometimes be Arevalo, 5 foot 5 Arevalo. Even if you player switch and man mark the obvious target, it will SWITCH AGAIN just as the ball floats in, meaning you can do nothing to challenge the inevitably clear header on goal.

103spooky - Great video mate, great production too.
how did you do the flares and fireballs following the motion of the ball, did you use Trapcode plugins for vegas? Particular or something??

Someone online yesterday used a very clever tactic against me - they would bring their keeper out a fairly long way almost all the time (letting him go back when I was on the wing), then had him sprint out and attack the ball whenever I shaped up to get in behind (can't remember the keeper's name but he was rapid!).

It worked very well, I only managed to score via a well taken finish by Ternalbao from just inside the box after dribbling down the wing and cutting inside.

It's not even that dangerous having the keeper so far off his line when you think about it - it would take a very well struck shot to lob the keeper from long range, I tried some manual lobbed passes at goal with D'Agostino, one which shaved the post with the keeper stranded and a couple more that were fairly close. D'Agostino was the only player worth attempting them with!

I tried using the tactic myself for a few games, and I screwed up once to concede a cheap goal, but the keeper made countless interceptions and clearances!

It is roulette but I have had more luck by just hitting L1 when the ball is halfway to the intended target. Any later and I tend to concede a goal any earlier is useless as well.

God, all it takes is a bit of lag and some pressure spamming cnuts and this becomes unplayable. I could have snapped the disc. It's great when people play actual football but honestly I was having FIFA flashbacks at some of the passing I was seeing. 5-0-5, if they aren't backheeling the ball forwards 3 times in a row it's because Ronaldo's got it and they're gonna cutback. It's hard enough to play against when it's lag free, but just the tiniest amount of sluggishness and your best players are Carlton Palmers.

Why do people create superstar ml teams to play in normal online play, seriously this guy was barca and had casillas in goal(hahaha) barca defense with ashley cole, barca mid with cesc and ibra, rooney and pato upfront with a superstar bench. i quit halfway through cause i was bored with the lack of any real skill. i wish you could block superstar teams from use in the match lobby.

Yeah MLO is a true bastardisation of a good mode but we saw it coming.

I have to get it in my head that people don't think like the typical evo-web or PEEL member. Most people cream their pants when they score a cutback 4 times with Cronaldo off Messi and send a "greatwork" message when they do it.

That is unfortunately the fucked up truth that pushes sales of the game. It's bloody depressing. I can only hope Konami strategy is about giving a game that is a depiction of true football rather than a kiddies dream game to build a superteam to cutback 50 times.

I still don't get what the sensation is in your pants when you do that......but that's just me.

@zeemeister.. you hate cutbacks yet u support barca? :P
game related; anyways yeah if it's too easy to get in those predicaments where you can lay off the ball it's pretty cheesy and boring.. tho in 2011 it isn't as easy like it used to.. for ex pes5/6
intercepting passes seems to be buggy as hell in this game :/

@ Amier. I'm sorry but what the heck does supporting Barca and playing a football game like an 8 year old got to do with each other? I do not play with Barca or Argentina in PES and I support the teams.

If it weren't a cheap tactic used because it is an exploit of the games AI - I would have no problem with it. Also I don't think Barca go out to score cutbacks at every match. But they not exactly playing against opposition with limited intelligence. Unless they playing Madrid or Man U with a fully fit Cronaldo and Rooney.

That's about as sensible as saying Zee you wear black socks but you hate cutbacks.

BTW who's the goofy guy with the Ben Stiller Zoolander pout in your avatar.

Cut backs are pretty easy to defend though, and I'll throw in the drilled cross into that mix to. It very rarely happens to me, I can't remember the last time I let in a drilled cross, and when I get a cut back against me it's actually generally a well worked goal.

Personally I don't mind being cut back on, if someone has torn me apart, and has a man running through with the ball, plus another matey to cut the ball back to, then I see myself as having been opened up good and proper, and he's perfectly entitled to do it, as I would expect to happen in a proper match. Cut backs generally happen when you are caught on the break, rarely happens as long as you don't let yourself get overrun in defence. Your full backs going way to far forward are usually the culprit of being cut back on.

@zeemeister: dude.. seems like your offended.. yet you talk about 8yr olds. suffice it to say that i'm not even going to bother with replying anything more if you're so one dimensional.
thanks for the compliment btw ;)

anyways i agree with sir_poc.

Are you pooping me?

How is my post an indication of offense. I just don't understand how not liking cutbacks and supporting barcelona have anything in common. Am I going to have to put smilies in my posts to see my happy face?

I know that cutbacks are defendable and so are low crosses but how much fun is it to chase around the wingers on the sideline for 10 minutes? I mean it's kick off go the wing and cutback in over and over and over again.
You can play with 5-0-5, or a 7-0-3 formation
You can choose to hack a man down on every chance,
You can pass around the back four after a goal to waste time,
You can play the ball back from a kick off and chip it over the opposition to score an easy goal

But why do it? where's the enjoyment? the skill? the art? the football?

Whenever I play Jimmy, Lami, Kaiser, Klashman, Tobi and other evo webbers you enjoy the match win or lose and you admire the football being played.

Sorry about the avatar joke it actually looks like someone I know, hence me asking.

Private MLO leagues would be the answer. We all said it during the MLO beta testing. Hopefully Konami show they are listening and implement this for PES2012.

MLO has such great potential but what ruins it above all else is other people.

I can only kind of see your point Zee. I really don't chase anyone around for 10 minutes just to stop low crosses or cut backs. Like I say, it rarely happens to me, it's pretty much a non issue. Like I say, when it does happen, quite often I've been completely taken apart by good play, and he's earnt the right to cut it in.

When it comes to crazy formations, yes that's annoying, but again, as long as you change your formation to suit (the ones with no midfield are a doddle to counter) then these idiots should provide little problem either.

It's annoying when someone tries just one tactic against you the whole game, but I actually find these players, low cross merchants, cut backers, through ballers, dribblers, the easiest people in the game to play against. For me, done in the right way there is nothing wrong with any of that, with mixed up play. What I can agree on is it annoys me when people have little variation, but again, they paid their money for the game just like I did, and whilst it may get on my tits, I suppose they are entitled.

For the record, I can see why amier has put together you supporting Barca and moaning about cutbacks. Whilst it has nothing to do with the game, Barca are the kings of cutbacks or goals into an empty net, so that's where he's obviously got that from. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, as Barca take teams apart in the way they do it, just like if someone does the same to me in the game I have no problems with it whatsoever.

it's like i don't even need to type, and you got it spot on
thx

I don't have a favourite i'll play with an interesting team like sochaux
from time to time i'll be a big team like manure(utd), like zee said don't get the satisfaction of being a superstar team.

Cool. Yeah I got frustrated with my crap team on MLO the other night (just one of those nights) and played a normal head to head online match. I played as Tottenham and he picked maybe Man U or Liverpool. Was SO noticeable how much better the players were and even though I lost, I think I scored the nicer goals.

I like to try out the different teams available...you get to see different gamestyles, players you havent heard of, new strips etc. Otherwise you might as well just play the demo if you wanna be limited to 4 teams ::TTTH:

I go around to a mates place and play FIFA - they dont like PES. And we have 3 superstar teams created which gets really boring because you have absolute superstars who cant even make the starting 11. But they want to play with the best players available and constantly spam the easy methods of scoring...instead of getting the best out of a normal team they might play with. Each to their own I guess but there's not much satisfaction in scoring the same goal every game...

From konami.com postet today:

KONAMI today announced that the latest free update for the PlayStation®3 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 will be available on December 21, 2010.

Based on user feedback, new updates include a series of gameplay improvements included below:

* Defender AI has been adjusted to allow for more consistent pressing
* The difficulty level and success rate for performing Rainbow Flicks has been adjusted to improve gameplay
* Throw-ins can now be passed back immediately
* Cursor switching has been improved including situations when the ball is crossed
* Calculating transfer fees in the Master League has been reworked
* Names above CPU players can now be switched off as they mimic player settings
* Shooting has been tweaked to produce more realistic reactions and results depending on real-time situations
* Chants within the game have been refined or changed
* PC owners with relatively low-spec machines now have a much more accessible way to find matches within the game's Legends Mode

What the hell? That sounds identical to the first patch a few weeks ago? What are they doing here?

Is there any sort of procedure to report lag switchers, or do I just have to accept it? Just had it done to me in a MLO quarter final for the first time, very annoying.

Persopolis men was his name.
