PES 2011 Discussion thread

This game should be reclassified, ........to a Class A. It has to be more addictive than Crack or Heroin, it's always just that one more hit..... :CONFUSE:

Seriously though, this MLO has me by the short and curlies. I just cant seem to be able to drag myself away from it. What I love the most is the fact, for the first time in my online history, I actually really enjoy playing 'randoms'. The reason for this is everyone is forced to play football in this game, so there is no cheap tactics. You either play football to win, or you lose, that simple. I really enjoy watching how people think, the game is like a blank canvas, with the ability to paint your own beautiful picture.

I also really like the fact that there are very few Competitions, and even when you manage to enter one, which is very hit and miss, you can only earn, realistically between £350,000 to £450,000 per event. This ensures there isnt an abundance of 'super-teams', with alot of teams still housing most of the default players. Perfect for me, I love playing with my bargain buys, at a very realistic pace. Your definately in this MLO for the long haul, and it will take months and months to even begin to assemble a half decent team.

I did a bit of wheeling and dealing last night, sold Erding who just didnt settle at Lille, and bought Cahill after reading about him on here. Cahill has been fantastic, and his through-balls have been superb, even though he doesnt have the Passer Player Card, which is minimum requirement usually for a place in my starting 11. Suarez and D'Alessandro are just pure gold. I also picked up a CB/DMF called Patazhentar for about £400,000. He is small but quick, great feet, balance, and has the Man Marking, Covering, and Slide Tackle Player Card. He made his debut in my last game and was nothing short of sensational.

It think I'll enter the Coach Mode Competition tonight, and just let it play out whilst I watch the England match. :)

I love crossing on manual (L2). Anything can happen!

That actually sounds like an excellent way to make crosses harder. Since getting up the wings and crossing the ball is rather easy on top player, even without resorting to the green zone exploit, this should cut down the rate of goals from crosses, at least at first. I'll give it a go tonight.

Getting into this a bit more. There is no denying theres a brilliant game under the exterior, fighting to get out, just let down by some movement stiffness and the odd unresponsive button press.

Dribbling is still hard, feels like im controlling a tank.

But i had a really good 1-1 draw last night with the cpu, the first time pes has had me out of my seat for three or so years. At 1-1 playing with Roma against Excelsior of Holland, i pushed on for the winner, a cross came in and Vucinic was at the far post, his first shot was saved, it came back out, second shot off the post and bounced out with everyone scrambling into the 8 yard box. ball falls to De Rossi, i crack it first time and teh defender gets a slight block, only for it to loop towards goal, the keeper then gets a hand and deflects it onto the top of the bar, two players rush in to finish it and miss it, the ball bounces away and full time whistle is blown.

Really good, exciting stuff.

that would never happen in FIFA.

So if we had a bunch of edited or created players in the line ups - we'd have lost them all or had them all bumped into 'extras' or something like that?

I thought last year year the updates reset like almost every change you made and screwed up OF after OF. So we would have lost our edited bits and bobs like assigns chants and any player edits you've made to the stats or appearances.

Hmmm maybe, maybe not, seen some good stuff in Fifa 11 too.

They are both half decent games for once.

In the main though its a solid platform for Konami to build on thats really important. Much the way Fifa 07 set the foundation for 08 and 09.

Just gone to the players I base-copied who wouldn't be in the game after the DLC, such as Raul, James, Diego, Camoranesi etc and they're all still there which is good, I thought their real faces may be removed at least.

Into ML they go.

Just noticed Krasic at Juve, looks a great player.

I'm on xbox360 so pretty much have to lump it for now...

why? there's two brilliant 360 prem OF's from dragonskin pesfan and daymos pesgaming reduced quality on badges due to lack of picture import but kits are stellar, corrected formations etc ...both brilliant

chuffed the edited kits are playable online - good stuff

How do you do this? And in ML will they be like free agents or something?

I have only managed to enter one Competition. First game, I was winning 1-0, then with 5 minutes to go, my opponent tried to score 3 OG'S. He scored the first two as I couldnt stop him, but he messed up the 3rd as his keeper ran to his own goal-line and basically cleared it for a corner. I sent the corner back to my own half, the whistle blew, ended the game, and I got a 3-0 win.

The second game a Spanish lad text me in game asking me to, and I quote "Please will you score 3 OG's ?" I replied, "Why?", he then replied " So I can qualify for the finals and you can get lots of quick money".

I replied " Fack off you bellend". I beat him 2-0. :)

After that I never saw the 3 OG's again. The benefit of the OG's is that the game ends quick, and the player conceding the OG's get £60,000, but his opponent doesnt receive any gate money, just a 3-0 win. The 3-0 will help you to qualify to the knockout stage, but if it doesnt, you have lost the match gate money. Also, these 3 OG's means that quite a few teams have 3 wins and +9 GD. Which is a hard score to beat if your trying to qualify legitimately.

A wee scout for you James. A guy called Awayba from UAE 26yo AMF/SMF cost 335-40k maurading run card and feels like he is on his tip toes when dribbling.. Nice and light great stats for the price 80 for dribble acc and speed;)

Before adding the DLC I went to Edit Player, then to the unregistered players. Upon clicking on one, I went to Base Copy and chose a player that would be no longer be in the game following the DLC and selected them to be cloned. I then went on to do this with others. I'd read a list on PESGaming I believe.

Before I start ML later I'll assign these players to crappy PES league teams and they can end up wherever they like.
