PES 2011 Discussion thread

Thanks Romagnoli for that suggestion, I signed him and he's been great for me in the few games he's played :).

This is one of my favourite things about MLO. If you've already bought them, you can happily recommend a player to other people. You can even benefit, if enough people buy him, you can sell for a decent profit when you 'upgrade' him.

N'koulou (£1.4m) - Big, strong CB with decent pace, good body balance and a good jump. Useful on set pieces.

Konami missed a trick leaving out team specific stats, top scorer/assist etc.

Right, well I was lucky enough to get into the online tournament there (entered a minute before and it was still close) so was chuffed, but here's the problem.

I lost the first game 1-0 and he deserved the win, no issues... but the next 3 people I played all scored three own goals and that was it, then the 4th had a decent game with one guy and then once more, 3 own goals... I then proceeded to back out of the comp as I don't want any part of this crap.

I really hope Konami get it sorted ASAP because the competitions are useless with this around, it's so depressing.

Not sure if this is an exploit or just people defending poorly, but today I have scored at least 5 goals straight from kick off...

From kick off, give the ball to your left-back/right-back (also did it once with a centre back) within a pass or two, and then hit a diagonal manual long ball and aim between their defence and keeper.
If your striker doesn't get directly onto it there's a high chance it will fall to someone in a dangerous position off a defender...

The goals did look pretty realistic though, and it is a manual pass, so I think I'll just regard it as a legitimate effective tactic :SMUG:.

They just can't defend :)

sticking with coach mode until its sorted, some people are a disgrace

Could I request that ML or MLO player recommendations be placed in spoiler tags please.

Find it more fun and challenging discovering the gems by myself. Thanks

On another note, getting ready for my fist game with mates tonight, so far only played vs COM. Hope this will make me see new, even better sides to the game.

i cant believe what sore loosers in this crap yestreday i was playing and was tied i scored the winning gol and the other dude tried to tie as soon as that ahole sow i coulnt tie he quit the game and i was credited with a 3 0 loss when i was winning the dawm game 2 to what kind of crap is this this sux :RANT:

also being lazy i know sorry but what is coach mode?

and how is it different to MLO?

its only different in the aspect that the ai play and you just mess with tactics and subs. it can be very annoying when some of the players dwell on the ball and give it away when it can easily be cleared or passed but it stops the current set of gobshites cheating.

The player switching in the game is a fucking joke, I've had games in MLO that are decided it, its ridiculous.

Put this through to Jon Murphy on his twitter and tell him all details, so that they can trace down the problem:

Hi lads, been away from here since friday been editing my copy. Heres a funny story, friday on the bus going into town i was full of self importance that i was going to sample the delights of the full game but also feeling like a kid at christmas.:LOL:

Anyway as i get into the shopping mall i can see "GAME" in purple letters in the distance. Walking now seems to be getting quicker then this old bloke sort of dodders into my path and i swerve past him thinking "Ha ha must be one of EA's agents trying to stop me" :LOL:
Also thoughts of "sold out" or the kid in front of me taking the last copy.:RANT:

Gets in there and picks up the game no problem and as an added bonus £24.99 (pc). While i am waiting in the queue this lad about 5 in front of me has a copy of Fifa11 and although i feel like giving him a Jimmy G style reason why to not buy it i bite my tongue. Anyway turns out this lad is not buying it he's returning it and gives the assistant the disc as he says theres a blemish on it. How funny i thought it was when the lad declined the offer of a replacement and took a credit note instead.:LOL:

When leaving the shopping centre i was then acosted by this happy looking chap (Market research) who says words to the effect of "Hi i'm ??? Lets have a chat" I politely decline is offer saying "sorry mate i am in abit of an emergency" i couldnt believe it, somebody didnt want me playing this game.:LOL:

As for the game absolutley loving it, but been having a go on league mode(in between editing) with pool on top player and i have been getting murdered :CONFUSE: lost last night to west brom 3-1 :CONFUSE: but thats the thing with this since the season started i have had bad condition arrows and this really reflects in the players, misplaced passes/slow reactions it can be very frustrating and to a newcomer would maybe feel the gameplay is broke but nah its just the condition arrows. I see the players still blindly run the ball out of play and i can see that bloke on the tannoy doin me head in before long. Also the green zone and jogging thing (although personally i can live with them because i dont look to exploit them, but apart from that happy days. peace ;)

Uugh this 3 Own-goal thing is revolting. When I eventually get my copy, I doubt I will venture into the dark online competitions.

We have to accept that this is the way online gaming is but Konami need to do more to reward the honest people.

I wonder if it would be feasible to have a player rating system. In other words, once I complete a match online there must be an option to rate the opponent you played against for connectivity and gamesmanship. I know people will then inevitably downrate you should you beat them but think it is worth a try.

Also, it would be great if you could exit a match before kick-off should you meet a poorly rated player or someone you have come across before.

I really like the crossing, sorry about constantly posting vids recently but;

YouTube - PES 2011 MLO - Minanda header

On that cross, from the Wide camera (first angle on the replay), I held diagonally up and left on the left stick, held RT (for a slower, more lofted cross) and tapped B once.

Copy-paste from a previous post of mine;

You have 9 places to aim - by holding the direction when you press the cross button you can direct the cross, attacking left to right on the right wing;

No direction = Around the penalty spot
Up = Far post
Down = Near post
Left = Pulled back
Right = Closer to the keeper
And then there's the up-left, down-right etc. combinations.

Then you have the different types of cross;

Single tap = Regular whipped cross
Double tap = Driven, lower, more powerful cross (nearly scored from one of these!)
Triple tap = Ground cross
R2 + Cross = Lofted cross
L2 + Cross = Manual cross
L2 + R2 + Cross = Lofted manual cross

This is how I see PES' crossing, and it's always been this way, on PS2 as well (with the exception of the manual cross).

Started a Copa as Flamengo and just had two cracking games against Newells Old Boys. First match finished 0-0 and I really should've scored a couple but kept missing sitters :(

Second match and NOB ( :LOL: :D ) scored first, I think away goals count? Automatically they dropped back and we had tons of possession and I actually scored my first free kick on PES 2011 to level it :D Kleberson picks up the ball and runs back, about 20 mins left.

Needing that extra goal, we continued to plough forward. Gil was a constant menace up front and seemed to be everywhere. I put a cross in from the left wing, it gets headed out and V.Pacheco is there to collect it. He picks up the ball on the bounce, but has his back to goal and is starting to turn towards goal ... BAM! Press to shoot and he hits a superb volley from outside the area, looping up and leaving the keeper stranded and it goes in! :BOP: Superb feeling when that went in and a real sense of satisfaction :SMUG:

Then it was just a case of trying to keep the ball, although I still managed to get a few shots peppered off. That was my first prolonged period where I've chosen "Top Player" and I REALLY enjoyed both games. On Professional, I can have the ball when I want and I always end up with tons of possession but on TP, it was a much better game. Will be starting my ML on this level once an OF with the Championship in gets released.

Who are your CB's and how much were they? I'm window shopping! What are they good at?

Villacaraz(Paraguay) actually a DM, but plays CB too; Strong,quick enough and great distribution from the back.

Noroszi(Iran) an SB that also plays CB; can play on both sides and has great physical attributes. He's got great pace, tall and really strong in the air.

Both great starting CB's worth far more than I paid for them, due to the value flaw.

Playing a Copa Libertadores with Sao Paulo and I just won my first game 2-1 in the playoff vs. Club Libertad after coming from 1-0 down to score 2 in the final fifteen minutes. Oh yes. Good fun but I still can't keep a clean sheet!

I signed Gil last year in my ML, he was quality, I spent millions on Player Cards for him only for him to bitch and whinge so I had to sell him back to a South American club. Bitter sweet memories.
