PES 2011 Discussion thread

Is there a way to find out of contract players at the end of the season? I'm fairly new to ML, so i don't know where to look?

Cheers.

Oh yeah, proxi, I saw this and thought of you ;)

Yeah damn right, chuck them in the fucking North Sea :D

It's a shame you can't play Europa League as a seperate gamemode, though.

Second this. I would love to play Europa League besides Champions League and Copa

In all honesty, League mode + all the additional cups + transfers... It's Master League lol.

Yeah and transfers are the reason I do not like Master League. Everytime I played it... I noticed some weird transfers. I prefer playing against teams with their proper real life squad...

Why are online gamers such arseholes?

Fed up of playing against teams with 9 and the back. Had someone just sit back and spank the ball to Agbonlahor on the wing and run run run.

Any tips on strategies or formations?

Atm I'm just playing a standard 4-4-2 diamonds with Poss OFF. Is it wise to play wider against packed defences or what?

Also at what time is it best to try to enter competitions?

Here's one of the kick off goals I scored;

YouTube - PES 2011 MLO - Fastest goal?

You guys reckon that's defendable? As I said, I must have scored about 5 of these today!

It's a glitch in the programming Rob, it renders the opposition defence useless. In PEEL you have to pass back to your keeper off kickoff to prevent it, or if the ball goes out of play. It's been like this for years.

Father I must confess, Rom just battered me. :CONFUSE:

Because society is a complete mess, we're probably months away from hearing of the 1st 20-something grandparent. Kids are everywhere, even ones aged 18-30. No-one grows up anymore, online gaming everywhere is a pointless charade in a playground and my pets heads... my pets heads are falling off.

My strategy would be to play with your mates only until some proper restrictions may or may not come into place against arseholes. Hopefully stoning or spearing.

It's probably worth playing more of a square shaped midfield against a defensive Gabby abuser. 4-2-2-2, maybe with two AMFs or technical side mids who can cut in and mix it up. Depends on your playing style and your striking options. Having two DMFs or a DMF and a CMF should give you more coverage of the flanks, better protection of attacking fullbacks and a sturdy base for recycling possession. If you ned more bodies up the pitch then just make sure you dont just have one midfielder doing defensive work, push a CMF forward but not too far - the more protective layers the pass has to get past the fewer angles it can use.

I'd also tell a DMF to mark a lone Gabby. Does he attack the wings or run through the middle? Might be worth layering your defenders to a 3-1 instead of a 4, pushing the fullbacks in and stopping him from trying to get through a single defensive layer.

Finally switched to Top Player, and the game's starting to click for me. Played a few games tonight on Professional and I was close to switching the thing off. Horrible, all the bad things about the game rising to the surface. At times it didn't just look bad, it looked completely ridiculous. Nothing like football whatsoever.

I tried Top Player because I was sick of dominating every game and the computer only attacking with counter attacks / through balls. Changed everything. On -1 speed it really is a joy, it feels like old PES but better. I was a bit hesitant because I figured I'd get murdered every game, but in fact most of the time I'm winning against weaker teams and being beaten by stronger teams, which is exactly what I want. Top Player's not necessarily harder, it's just deeper - you have to concentrate more, but that opens up a new world of options. Because the computer now plays proper football, you can too. There are still a million annoyances, but I'm really starting to like this game a lot.

Noticed something a bit miserable though - don't know if anyone else has spotted it. I was practising penalties in the training ground, and I realised you can score the Panenka every single time. Start the run up, then a split second before your player kicks the ball, jab the left stick away from the goal very quickly. Every single time the goalie dives (which he doesn't if you aim a hard shot straight down the middle), and every single time the ball floats into the middle of the net. I thought it might just be Mata's mad skillz, but I tried it with every member of the team and had the same result. With less skilled players you have to jab the stick very quickly indeed to stop it sailing over the bar, but it's still ridiculously easy. I'm so crap at penalties that I score maybe one in five "ordinary" ones with the best player in the team, but I scored 15 Panenkas in a row with the substitute goalkeeper before giving up in disgust. Can someone confirm that this also happens in-game?

Well after playing few days of this " total freedom " few things are clear:
1. Game needs new engine
2. Online is laggy
3. FIFA wins again this year
4. Wheres that total freedom ?
5. Why am I so stupid that I bought it again ?

1. game doesnt need a new engine imo
2. i played someone from singpaore 3 times in a row, lag free
3. fifa loses as it has no soul in 1v1 games.
4. Its their. the games more random then fifa. fifa is MORE

1. it doesnt
2. i played someone from singapore 3 times in a row, no lag
3. fifa loses for once
4. it has more freedom then fifa 11.
5. Stop playing the game like FIFA then. give it more then a few days. play it for a few weeks!

I do not score all the Panenka's penalties tries. Sometimes the keeper saves the shot, just like real life!

1. Elaborate, IMO it needs polish in some aspects like switching players or being able to own a defender with speed but without making the game a speed race, etc.
2. How many games have you played? Opinions are split I think
3. Opinions, FIFA 11 is not better than PES 11.
4. Hmmm... probably using L2 when passing is a good idea?
5. Haha... good one!

Nice I will buy him now. Here is another gem in return, a huge French CB called Plessis, he is a monster, all 193cm of him. A snip at £585,000, send him up for set pieces, he loves them. Finished MLO comp and didn't qualify with two wins and a draw. You need the maximum 9 points and at least plus 7 goal difference to qualify. I got £70,000 for each match and £200,000 prize money.

Thanks for these two guys, been looking for decent cheap signings :)

I sold Javier Hernandez/Scott Parker and picked up Mata who is playing as a SS for me and doing well, and bought a cheapish striker with good stats called Cabrera. Not used him yet tho.

Also picked up Scott Brown, and D'Alessandro is currently out for 4 games with an injury, but my team is slowly getting there lol.

im a total soccer freak when it comes to it on the pc, I study the game like no tomorrow, pes 11 has potential, after these release dates are complete konami will once again attack pes 2011 right at the heart you can rest assure patches and fixes will make this game too hot to handle, i played fifa 11 on pc i never had a full match because the uninstall process was too busy cleaning the game from my computer don't even bother with fifa 11.

I have had more joy scoring a single goal on PES2011 than I have playing every version of fifa that has ever been released.

Fifa is a bucket of emptyness decorated in some shiny paint and stickers

FIFA??! Looks like you are unaware of the terrible mess they made from FIFA 11. Online is totally broken; the game lags like I never seen PES lagging. Bugs all over the place including some cheats.
They still did not find the source from the laggy online and they cannot say when they have fixed it.

The minor lag from PES is nothing compared with FIFA 11, but still I am disappointed in Konami that they again did not produce a lag-free game. They need dedicated servers badly and they know it. Why do they still use peer to peer? Is it stubbornness? It can't be the money, because it is a small long term investment.

1. Bullshit

2. Don't agree i play very well

3. Don't agree. For me is draw this year

4. Everywhere

6. Because you are Fifa lover.

You see i find this hilarious.

And pes has no bugs does it? Nope not one....well apart from the ball passing through the keeper, the player switching, the stuttering footballers when you play at +2 speed and the annoyances of the cpu doing stuff for you like tackling and giving away pens without you pressing a button.

Im sick of this nonsense on here. Biased, biased, biased the lot of you, infact i'm betting half of you havent even kicked a ball if Pes is the definitive realisation of the sport.

Anyway, Fifas got problems, but ive already been through those elsewhere. Spent more time on this at the weekend, it plays solidly but its still not the amazing game some of you think for me, although opinions are opinions.

I still think with the inclusion of smoother movement and more intelligent a.i this game could go on leaps and bounds, but for me, for every piece of magic this produces that makes you think this game is superb, theres always a niggle around the corner to ruin it, like a non reactive player. Last night i was playing Fulham with Liverpool and i swear now, the cpu started to badly cheat. I took a 2-0 lead and they pulled one back with a deflection. Ok game on at 2-1 and they throw on an attacker. Now i kid you not all of a sudden my back line and covering midfielders become uncontrollable for the last few minutes, unresponsive to button presses, tackling on their own without my prompt, getting in the way of each other, slow, you name it. It was like a a back four in treacle. low and behold i gave away a pen in the dying minutes (actually it wasnt me Carra decided on his own to upend Dempsey) which left me livid.

They scored to make it 2-2 and then all of a sudden for the last 30 seconds my players felt like they had been released again. It was like the cpu halved their abilities so he could get back in the game. Thats what it felt like.

So its very up and down, mostly up but still needs work.

PES2011 has a broken stamina...
brokenstamina.jpg

Gavingstone ran all the time with the ball (set on lowest difficulty)....
I mean ALL the match....
He has 99 stamina and 8 form....
This is 89th minute....
Im 99% sure that we will have to wait for PES2012 to have this fixed...

You can set this up in non-ranked matches and also offline, that form for the team is red.

Little MLO bargain tip-off - Khlosneri (Iranian guy if searching by that will speed things up) is rated 65 or so as a CMF, and costs as much as you'd expect. Pop him on the right wing though and he becomes a 74. Good stats for the money and a 6 rating for consistency.

Have set up my MLO team but haven't signed anyone yet. Will have a look at this guy.

Poor Konami roster again, that's Damien Plessis who's contracted to Liverpool (out on loan at the moment) and he's not a centre-back. He wasn't in 2010 and he still isn't now. Should be a MC, with secondary position as DMC.

Might be worth a look at that price!

I have Scott Brown on my favourites list. Only problem is he is quite small. D'Alessandro is also on the list just for his heroics for me during the demo!

He was responding to your single comment that Fifa wins again. There was no reason to list PES's faults because his comment was just that Fifa online is a mess and while PES isn't perfect.. the mess they made of Fifa means it can not 'win' anything in his opinion. He never once said 'PES has no faults or that it's flawless or anything'. You're the one putting those words in his mouth and then arguing about it... effectively you're arguing with yourself and you look a bit silly now for doing so.
