PES 2011 Discussion thread

Hi there, loving the game, but having doubts about the game speed...
What's the speed number you use? -1, 0, +1???
I'm seeing some reports that the + values increase the players reactions and the fluidity of play. I'm playing at -1 right now and sometimes I seem to recognize some small slowdowns during some players actions. Like receiveing the ball and turn or some other action that requires linking two or more actions from the player.

What do you think?

Master League Online is pretty adictive, i'm finding it to be very disapointing also in some other way. Competitions are scheduled at certain hours that are way too limited for people who do other stuff in life...LOL..the other thing is that if you delay your entering by a second every place in there becomes full (it's number limited). It's nearly a act of god entering there and try to earn some real money. Other things that are really annoying are the lack of evolution of the players and the lack of objectives other than building a team.

seems to be some consensus here... -1 speed...

Are you using any Option file right now, will any of the option files be compatibe with the Konami DLC release?

I'm really keen on this issue because I don't want sistematically to be changing and copying files to the PS3 browser.

There was a comment somewhere that putting the speed up to +2 is actually more real to life than having it on the lower settings. The argument was that players like Lennon/Ribery/Walcott just don't seem fast enough with the lower settings, whereas on +2 they zip around and their pace is shown much better.

I'll be playing on -1, regardless, but it was an interesting comment.

On +2, every players run around at a ridiculous pace though. I'd hate to see Lennon or Walcott on that speed, it'd be like playing SWOS or something.

DLC is out now.

I played about 5 games last night. Its a much better game than the demo, the response is better and the drop in the number of fouls has improved it in my oppinion.

I drew most of my games on top player, but won one with Italy against Argentina in a great game winning 3 - 2. Two of my goals came from volleys outside the box from De Rossi from blocked corners. Seems if you position a defensive midfielder just below the half way line, they are position well to hit these.

The opposition could have a bit more of the ball, but that can be fixed.

The graphics and lighting are on the whole better, but where as a lot of the pitches looked poor last year with lighting overdone and old patterns used, the odd few looked amazing, this year there is a general improvement in most, but none that stand out.

Does anyone know if corner parts if stadiums can be unlocked or if the oppositions names above their heads can be sorted out yet?

The official press release reads :

KONAMI details first PES 2011 DLC

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH today announced the content of its first DLC for PES 2011, which will be available on 12th October.

Available free to PlayStation(R)3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD users, the download will bring the player roster files completely up to date, while clubs that qualified for the UEFA Champions League Group Round, will be added to the game’s dedicated mode. A number of team kits have also been updated in line with their current use, and four more licensed boots have been incorporated.

The DLC also includes three new wallpapers featuring cover star Lionel Messi in the ‘Extra Content’ folder, and KONAMI will be releasing further updates during the coming year.

Don't think anyone has figured out how to turn off the AI "names above heads", but someone did mention that extra stadium parts were available via unlockable content.

Could we get a DLC in the future with even more stadium structures for the editing so we can have fully enclosed stadia, or will that not happen?

Hope they give a patch to remove the names..............Unbelieveble. Was hoping to have it today, but think the postie will arrive tommorow. Which is a shame as I have had it sent to my office adress. :(

So, I was about to introduce Wilkinson Swords to my arteries when all of a sudden the postwoman turns up and drops the game onto my doormat like an old bone for a dog.

Good job it's here too, I've refined my PES soundtrack folder, it's now packed to the brim with tuna.

Yep, mine is the EUR version. 1.01 isn't the DLC though, that's going to be 1.02 it seems.

Short before the update there was server-maintenance, so I assume it has to do with online. Hopefully some improvement in playing online. Heared about some guys with bad connections...

Hmm. That's an odd one. The official news was it wasn't released until Tuesday.

Finding this really tough, after making the switch from non-stop playing FIFA for the past week. The dribbling seems a bit, I dunno, odd. Can't seem to outrun anyone even with the likes of Lennon. They don't seem to get it out of their feet enough. Any tips?

Playing as Rubin against Barca now and, admittedly realistically, getting destroyed. 2-0 down at HT.

Overall i like this game.

However i don't like what they have done to the strategy and attack/defence levels.

Now you need to hold 'Select' to implement strategy which is annoying. In older PES games i change my strategy and attack/defence levels often throughout the match with R2 but now i have to take my hand of the analogue stick to do it.

I also want to see the strategy at all times, not only when i switch it on. The same with the defence/attack level it only appears when changed and fades away. And why did they change the colours for the attack/defence levels, i find it difficult to see the difference now, it isn't clear in my opinion.

I'm gonna stop by on the way home from work and buy it tonight, but I still can't decide whether to get it for xbox360 or ps3. Can any kind person tell me whether;

a. the graphics for the ps3 version have been made less 'jaggy' than the demo? One nice chap replied earlier saying they had, but I just wanted futher opinion.

b. is it true that you can't import png files for the 360? If so, how can you make kits and import them into the game? I must be a masochist, I want to make and import my team Luton Town into the game. Oh dear!!!! I did this perfectly in PES2010 on ps3, but can't you do this on the 360?

I'd heard the 360's graphics were much better, but the demos showed they were exactly the same except for the PS3's bad jaggies. Anyone see any difference? Or, can't you really make kits and import them into the 360?

Cheers very much! By the way, this forum is miles better than others I've read :))

I'm playing the Copa on -1 but the one time I played European teams I felt I had to drop it to -2.

I'm absolutely loving the Copa L, was losing against Universitario 1-0, but 2 goals in the 86th and 89th minute turned it around. I had six points in the bag, next up was C.A. Lanús, and they totally did a number on me. Granted, I received a harsh red card which didn't help, and after I took away my DMF to patch the defence, they owned the midfield. 2-0 the result. Things looked grim for my Corinthians in the second game against Lanús, 2-0 in halftime, but my boys came back and a last minute equilizer saved the day, 2-2. Then it was back to Universitario for a 3-2 win, where old legends Carlos and Ronaldo were in there essence. I could swear that the commentator said "That's one to remember from Ronaldo!!!" when he fired in a rocket from long range. I'm now on top of the group with 10 points, 2 clear of Lanús. I have score quite a bit of goals but also conceived, I think it's at 10-9 before the last game of the group.

Not for me, they look just the same as the demo.

The 360 version won't allow you to import files in the same way that the PS3 does, the feature import is missing from the 360 version, the graphics for me on the 360 are brighter, better lighting, far less jaggies.

Any frame rate/stuttering issues reported on the 360 version? (I had some issues with the demo)

have got it, and got F1 at lunch. gonna be busy playing those and Fifa, i may get divorced at this rate.

Haha, same here, mate - apart from buying F1 as well.

What I'm going to do is wipe the slate clean with PES. Play it like it's a whole new experience. That's the best way, apparently.

I have absolutely no idea how to defend on this. Seems completely impossible. All the AI has to do is play a through-ball and my defence are all over the place.

The more I play, the more I dislike, which sucks. :(
