PES 2011 Discussion thread

sounds like your gpu is knackered. do u have a spare gpu lying arond that u can test? it could even be ur monitor thats fucked?

tried connecting ur pc with your 8600 in a HDTV?

Monitor seemed fine - it loaded in safe mode and I could see the screen fine it just flickered every now and again. Soon as I tried to load the nvidia website with lots of graphics screen flickered to the point of not seeing anything again.

I think it is the graphics card that's gone. Not got a TV I can try it with at the moment either :(

Anyone want a match? add me: pinoy_soldier.

PC version BTW

So , NOW do you see that i'm not kidding about 4 vs 4 ... :D
Hole online mode is .. like e Joke . Ping pong passes and trick, flips all time ... so annoying and look stupid.. no lag but.. ahhh.. there is someting very wrong in this game !!!

I got the game! It was at the shop tonight, I was fairly surprised it was already there. Booted up the game and straight to Copa Libertadores with Corinthians. Second game, scored one of the best goals of my PES career! I will try to post it later. Holy Mother this game looks/feels good.

Tesco will be selling for £30, Asda will be something like £29.97.

I have played 3 games on Top Player. 2 in the Copa, 1 with Merseyside Red against Merseyside Blue. The first two I won 1-0 and 3-1. I might just have scored one green zone goal, well I felt I had to check if it was still there. Also there seems to be some strange issue with player switching at times, but usually it seems fine. I have not seen problems with fouls, there weren't many in the first two games but in the last one Everton had 6. It was a tight game which Gerrard put away with a free kick in the 90th minute.

A quick heads up for anyone wanting to buy it from tescos , just got it for 37 quid from in there , it seems the 30 pound offer hasnt been added in yet , but if you Keep a copy of the paper where the 30 offer was advertised and your receipt and take it in tomorrow in the day, Tesco have a policy where if you've been incorrectly charged for something they give you the difference DOUBLED! could end up getting the gamne for 23 quid =)

Note

just bought it from tescos in Newport south wales maybe the computers there are slow on the uptake haha

Yup, same here. There were about 20 of us queuing up, bloke looked terrified like there was going to be a riot. But I went away with a promise that I'd get twice the difference back.

So, two bits of great news in one night - not only did I get PES for 23 quid, but this branch of Tescos sold Heinz Sweet Chilli Mean Beanz, which are bloody difficult to find. Result.

Tea's brewed - better play, I suppose...

Can anyone confirm whether the graphics in the PS3 version are less 'jaggy' than the demo release? I ask because the 360 had smoother graphics for some reason, and I don't know which version to buy. Ideally for option files etc the PS3 would be easier, but if the 360's graphics are better then it may be that version I'll buy instead.

Are the PS3's graphics exactly the same or have they been 'smoothed' out?

I take it the option files for the UK PS3 game will not work with the US version. Will I be able to find similar files for the US game and how can I tell the difference when uploading? Are they clearly marked by the creators?

Have you thought about buying the UK version and having it shipped to you? That's what I did through ebay - only cost me 2.95 (in pounds) shipping. exchange rate isn't too bad either, got it for $68 all in, same price as if u get it here. Link below if ur interested :)

People have already got the game from Tesco? Might be worth walking to mine now, however if they don't have it, be a wasted journey. Where has everyone seen it for like £27?

Might just wait it out until tomorrow, get it at Tesco or Asda... have work 4-10 though so playing time is limited. That or get it just before work at GAME, with pre-order pts and get a fiver off with existing points... maybe even trade in a old game and get some mulah off... hmm!

do you guys think the first touch is not good as PES 2010's. Because even holding sprint button the player does not displace the ball further. This is little bit annoying, also the defender easily outpaces any pacy forward. Though the game is great and difficult against smaller teams, but AI's defending is super organized and my defense sucks even after tweaking many setting in team style.

I've been playing the BAL all night now, started at Newcastle... such a challenge but finally broke into the first team near the end of the season and I'm scoring near enough every game now, love this game.

Any word on when an xbox 360 option file will come out? wish I had a PS3 atm :(

Hmmm, still hasn't quite completely clicked for me but I'm really enjoying it anyway.

A few notes to Konami, though:

When centre backs come up for corners, they usually like to stand somewhere near the middle of the box, rather than moving out wide as the option for the short corner. If you give it a bit of thought, you'll probably be able to guess why that is. Also, when a centre back has actually ventured into the box but the corner has come to nothing and the ball is in the keeper's hands, they tend to start running back into position, rather than just standing there on the edge of the box looking at the goalkeeper while, behind them, the rest of their team scrambles back to cover.

When you've splashed out on the licensing for most of La Liga, maybe you should go that last mile and use the correct fonts for shirt names and numbers. Just a thought. Speaking of La Liga, Valencia do not have a playing style which consists only of "Long Ball" whether winning, losing or drawing. Deportivo La Coruna, a team who make Inter in the 2010 Champions League semi-final look like Manchester United circa 1999, do not play "Possession Game (offensive)", neither do they switch to "All Out Attack" when the scores are level. Also, in La Liga there are some famous footballers called Luis Fabiano, Borja Valero, Tiago Mendes, Aritz Aduriz... you obviously haven't heard of them.

One of those players could at least be transferred into his club side from a national team, but apparently we're not allowed to do that (or at least, you're not making it obvious how). If, in your infinite wisdom, you decide not to let us transfer players from national teams into club sides (or at least make it very hard to work out how), at least refrain from putting an option on the transfer screen to do exactly that, which remains greyed out whichever buttons we press.

The transfer window does not close in the first week of July. Your game did not go gold in the first week of July. You may wish to consider these two facts.

You decided to use the onscreen name "David Villa" rather than just "Villa" for the Barcelona striker. Did this not jog your memory as to what David Villa has had written on the back of his shirt for his entire fucking career? See also: Dani Alves.

Football crowds tend not to sound like six men with strong Japanese accents multi-tracked and plastered in echo. Also, when a goal is scored, they usually make quite a loud noise.

Djibril Cisse is not an unstoppable goal machine.

Thanks. Nice game, on the whole.

Haha, my sentiments exactly.

I noticed a few of the more prominent posters mentioning how "learning PES 2011 is a new game". Now after the demo and a few goes i took this with a pinch of salt a bit myself but these words rang true last night more than anything.

-

We headed out to my mates for some fine home-brew and a PES 2011 sesh tonight, we ended up making our characters and placing them into Athletico Madrid and tackling the ML by playing with fixed cursors with our own five created players in the team.

The first game was a sham, everyone had forgot how ISS worked, never played to positon and just didn't have a clue basically....

"Hmmmmmm" and murmurs of discontent were brewing as we tweaked the settings and formation to accomdate us, as well as tweaked the OSD to our likings.

It was on the tip of everyones tongues, myself included even after the joy of 1 player, multiplayer (or more accurately us donkeys) showed the game up.
We all shared the thought that, "Hmmmm. Not sure if i like this version", and we were definitely less enthusiastic about playing on, but were all for giving it a chance.

A scrappy goal for us and some theatrics from my player brought a laugh, but it was still...."Hmmmmmmm".

-

My friend Tom set up the next match and tweaked the formation some and said, "Right, Bailey's (me) using analogue so i'm going to break the habit of a life-time" and he got his thumb on left stick.

John said "Seriously, analogue?" and Foz, sat at the far side answered, "Yeah it might be time on this version". While Ed sat smoking and grumbling his disapproval.

So guys.. the weirdest thing happened to me in Master League
I played Ajax vs Vitesse and won 11-0 lool :D

But the 2nd goal 'I' scored vs Vitesse as u will see in the vid doesn't make any sense.. or does it?

Watch the Replay file load (ass: Suarez, goal: Emanuelson) and then see for yourselves....

YouTube - PES 2011: Own goal or not Seabass??

Game 3 then.

Tom reinforces "We all need to stay in postion" and everyone does their nodding dog act, while looking at the weird analogue thing you only ever use for FPS games.

John remarks, "I'll never use them but...ok what are the trick buttons?" and nods as i mumble something about L2, R-Stick feints. He gives laughs in return.

Meanwhile, Foz on the other setee is busying commenting to himself, "Ok spread it about a bit, Barca style".

Tom shakes his head, "Got to get the angles right, this stick you see, more choices", as he sends the ball out.

He wins the ball back, plays it through to Ed who skies it. "This is a good game" notes Tom, "that's exactly what i wanted".

"It want's you to play proper football now", remarks Foz, "It's a totally new game" and to reinforce this Foz starts spraying the ball around, "Draw them out and play to the channels like a proper game, without the hard-work bit".

By now John has made some satisfying crunching tackles on the opposition, and Ed has rued another few near misses.

"I can do tricks!" announces Tom, as he dances past the side-back and delivers a cross.

There's a goal-mouth melee and the ball falls loose at the 18 yard box to my midfielder. 1 - 0 to Baille, the frenchman. The first "real" goal we scored.

---

Cue lots more, "this is good this", "the passing is ace", "Oooooof!!!", "Through, through..Not now offside".

I've forgotten who said it but then came the phrase you hope to hear during a game.

"This is the best version we've played, isn't it!?, like the old ones".

---

Roll on next Thursday, my mates want us all to turn up early this time :)

After a third consecutive long session last night...i still like it enormously. I'm still not getting used to the new defending system. I qualified for the elimination phase of the Coppa Libertadores. Was in a group with Internacional, Quito and an Uruguayan team. Both matches against Internacional were the key matches. I had a hard fought 0-0 in the away leg (I love the Amazonia Stadium for some reason) and in the home match, Nei got a red card after 4 minutes. That was a stroke of luck. Managed to win that match with 2-0 (until now i never scored more than 2 goals). The last match was in Uruguay (against Cerro i think), got a scrappy last minute 0-1 win and qualified.

Maybe it's a litle early to say, but gameplaywise this is for me maybe the best game in the series. It's difficult, but until now fair...if i loose, i loos because i made mistakes.

There are some bizar things in this game. Already mentioned the peculiar national team squads. Somebody said that in the European version (i have the UK version) players like Khedira and Muller are in the German nation squad. I double checked that and i can confirm with certainty that they aren't in my version. There are 5 "unknown" players in that squad. Made up players like i discovered one in the Belgian national squad and one in the English one.

In my match against Internacional something weird happened. If i remember well their goal keeper is Abbondanzieri. He never played against me. In the first match i was convinced that the second GK played. But in the home leg, there were two different keepers in the goal: Fabiano Eller and Sorondo. Both are field players. It's like they alternated: one time it was Fabiano Eller and a couple of minutes later Sorondo, then again Fabiano Eller...

Another example of typical Konami sloppyness: i went watching the French national squad in edit mode (searching for other made up players, didn't found any), i noticed that some player's name was written in capital letters and others not...and i never edited that team.

All these things are hardly nuisances, but i t shows that Konami are somehow lazy...

Tried playing last night with my mic on and all I kept getting was weird static in the background. It was almost as if I could hear bits from other peoples games as every so often there would be a little snapshot of someone talking to each other. Hard work.
