PES 2011 Discussion thread

I'm still stuck for a format to buy the game on. I'm swaying towards PS3, as I'm liking the look of the WENB option file (White Hart Lane included in the stadiums, too).

260 meg, it's just uploading now, it says 20 mins. The game feels so much more alive with chants. ML feels very realistic when you go to different grounds and hear every team's unique chants. Some of these are also multiple linked chants edited into one MP3, which adds more variation.

I didnt hear them online though which is shame.

Ok with the PS3 option files, what stadiums are people making? I mean could they make 16 generic ones and 3-4 real ones? Just wondered. 16 generic stadiums will add a lot to the game imo :) along with the Konami default ones :)

On the PC i have no idea whats happening since people make inch perfect stadiums to patch!

Superb, cheers!

I just got the game today. Played a couple of matches, looked at the edit mode. Check out players' faces etc...

Where is Besiktas JK's kit? They licensed the logo but not the kit? What's wrong with Konami?

The player stats are unbelievably off as well. Necip Uysal, the most promising Turkish CM since Emre, is rated 58? Wtf?

I really hope the next update fixes these issues. I like playing with sub-top teams and especially with Besiktas JK. Konami makes most of these teams useless by underrating them so much.

Other than that the game plays great. It just needs a nice update.

What difficulty level are you on? I'm on Pro at the moment and it's not difficult to score at all, might have to move up a level.

Regarding one-on-one's, I reckon it's nearly impossible unless you hold R2. Much more success using that technique.

Was playing on pro too and tried shooting with R2, much better results now, so thanks:))

Playing a Copa Libertadores with Corinthians now and I'm having lots of fun. Fat Ronaldo is very fat indeed and constantly out of form, but I think he's had two chances and he converted them both. Four games played in the group stages, won both home games and drew and lost both away games. Loving it:WORSHIP:

Edit: Anyone else find Jim Beglin to be extremely annoying? I want to punch him in the face!

To be fair, you wouldn't be able to hear the chants online, as it would mean your opponent would need to have the playlist installed on his machine, too, for the chants/sound file to be triggered at a random moment during a game. I realise, in theory, you could have chants playing your end and not his, but obviously it doesn't work like that when you have a linked connection into a single game environment - so both parties should have the same surroundings.

Slightly concerned by the number of comments i am seeing saying the online is laggy (or perhaps the lack of comments saying it is not!)
Is everyone having problems with lag online to some extent?

just got mine and have to say im shocked.......shocked at how good it is. i was a bit meh with the demo but after listening to you lot i took a pump on it and its fantastic. Feels like pes of old, rewarding and enjoyable.

Got the game today for the ps3 and all i have to say is OMG!!!!!.....after playing for about 30 mins i had to look at the game box to check if i was actually playing pes2011 and hadnt fallen asleep for a year, because in comparison to both the pes and we demo it feels like one years difference not weeks.

The balls heavier and has more feel, ball control, dribbling and running is so much tighter and refined, theres more angles, more animations, defendings tighter, headings better, crossings more varied, the AIs sharper, the collision systems fairer and more balanced .....i could go on and on.

Absolutely over the moon with the final game, couldnt of dreamed it being any better.Even the lower stat players feel great in the final game, which is definetly a first for pes and the stars are amazing just how they should be and shine through.

All i need now is a good option file, anyone know when the wenb is due?

This series is going in the right direction now and i've been critical of the PS3 incarnations in the past.

I'm not very begrudging of buying "updates" as i'm a massive beat-em up fan. So buying for example about four incarnations of Street Fighter on the SNES was par for the course.

Hence i can patiently wait for this series to come full circle again, i'd argue it's not there yet, there's plenty of touches that we as football fans can think to add to the game and well, you wouldn't want the developers to sit on their laurels would you....but this is the first one i've enjoyed since the J Leagues on PS3 and coupled with an option file and me drumming up a ridiculous playlist of stupid cheesy music like has been tradition in the past, this latest version is going to get a lot of play.

It's quite reassuring to see that the foundation is there now, and hopefully future versions can go on to refine the gameplay but also go further at capturing the atmosphere and essence of football and take advantage of the new hardware to tinker with.

I'd like to see the little things like turf getting kicked up, collisions where the players stumble and steady themselves but still maintain their momentum etc.

All in all though, even though it's the "honeymoon" period for this new version, it's going to hold the attention of myself and my friends for a while.

A nice statement of intent from Konami when all's said and done, and i hope PES continues to build on this.

The single funniest thing in the game is the stadium announcer shouting 'Goal!'. Very false, very badly done, very funny. Hopefully it doesn't get old...

Here are my chants fella's. Now go and make the game even better. http://www.evo-web.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=2084263#post2084263

Create a playlist on your PS3 and maybe name it EPL chants, then copy all mine over. Make another such as Championship chants, and copy them over. Same for Internationals. It will be easier for you to find when inserting them if all Playlists are in relevant groups. ;)

Awesome, I saw you said sometihng about the ps3 version of the game supports music in the playlists, is that correct? :D

When you getting your game btw? and are you about tomorrow?

I have it now, that's how I know about unlimited chants. I left a first impression post on the last page. Come on Simon, get with the programme. :)

Where's goalgerd and chimps, i think we need to create some sort of stadium editing standard.

Creating 10-15 generic stadiums for everyone to use! Not just that, provide a list of generic stadiums to which fit's what team :)

There's 11 generic stadiums it the game which are actually very good for providing variety for the leagues and teams int he game.

I've just quickly reassigned all the stadiums fort he dutch league and created two small generic stadiums and already the game looks 100 times better than the original with most of the league having either the konami stadium or Vile Marie :CONFUSE:.

Noticed that the stadium editor does well to replicate old style stadiums such as those in italy, spain, also stuff like white hart lane, upton park can be created very close to how they are in real life.

Although new stadiums like the Emirates aren't possible it seems!

Gooners! just use the Estadio de Luz as the Emirates, they look very similar! Designed by the same people also lol

I guess like me your Argos order tracking said "delivered" this morning but without fruition?

Yeah mate, my dad ordered it for me as a gift, I have his username & pass for Argos, but can u believe I can't look at the tracking online? it asks me for the order number, doesnt show it anywhere when I am logged in, so I cant find out! :/

Oh well, fingers crossed for tomorrow, did you add me on PSN btw?

Got the game about 1pm and after a couple of hours editing WE United and changing them to Bristol Rovers I jumped on the MLO.... I will not leave the house for months!!!!

First game got beat 1 - 7 ( :LMAO: ) by a guy that already had alot of decent players and just left attacking players up field, he pressured and sprinted non stop, running into me taking the ball and playing it to his attackers.
After that game I felt like I had just played FIFA10's online mode and was very dissapointed.

Next 3 games were much better, people had the default teams with maybe 1 - 3 new players. They were balanced games and I won 1 drew 1 and lost 1.

Fifth game was awesome! I got my team more sorted out with regards to formation and tactics, he scored early then after a while I settled down and really started to play my own game in the second half. After a period of possession where I had played about 20 - 30 passes and pulled his players all over the place I played a cross field ball to Minanda and he scored, it was probably the best goal I have scored on PES, to play that many passes and the cap it with a goal was just awesome.

YouTube - MLO Comeback

After those 2 goals I started to get jittery and dropped very deep and he just kept coming and coming, fortunatley I think he had a similar rush of adrenaline and could not hit a barn door, finished 2 - 1 and was highly enjoyable :)

No sleep for me tonight!!!

Almost forgot, one quick question, can you sell your squad off in the MLO? I cant see how 1 guy I played had soo many bought players in such a short space of time, I guessed he must of sold some of his team off. Am I right? I looked but cant find the option, I thought I remember some of the beta players talking about it though.
